I hate to hug unless we are intimate, Other wise it is definitely hugging to the side...

I can only speak for myself, but sideways means you're in my "friend zone"...Frontal means I want affection from you and I want you to wrap your arms around me, also I get a better "whiff" of his cologne.
The "frontal" hug encourages him to feel some of the blessings mama gave me as well.
Hmm hmm! That be some good blessing, I suppose!

I actually never payed attention to that. I will next time.
I would guess if she hugs you touching the chest its more personal.
Side ways could mean she is not a hugger and needs practice.
No, no, no. Don't pay attention. It's sexier when a woman don't think about it and just hug frontal.

You capitalized the "no." So, its frontal from you?
I was replying to the Op's question about it being a message behind the way a women hugs. As for me I always hug full frontal.

Interesting question. I'm a hugger, I hug friends and family hello and good bye. I'm a touchy feely kind of girl. At my church, I use to be a greeter and knew everyone, so I would hug them hello. Later, I was instructed to hug them side by side because some were not comfortable with the traditional hug. For me, it means nothing, just a hello or good bye. I'm learning here that it may mean more. Live and learn.
