I saw a picture of strawberries being grown in wooden planters that were on top of two trellises making them hanging plants and I started wondering if I could grow them in some type of mesh that would allow plants to grow on the top and the bottom and run the shoots around to make a log. I've never grown strawberries before and was wondering if anyone with experience with them would see this working.

strawberries are a rooting system plant .... they like to "run" ... and they need an excellent nutrition (loamy soil) and water source so never plant them in such a way that the roots will dry out --- that is the key to a good yield
Good luck.
