See, I go for more pop soul country, kinda upbeat but also meaningful. I most write about true things. Things I happen to see and/or experience. The one I'm currently working on is the based off the struggles this world brings, like homeless, war etc.. that's why I decided to go homeless for a week to experience it and get ideas about it and how hard it is.

Have you tried going with an instrumental? Sometimes songs without lyrics get the point across better... just a thought.

I'm a metal guitarist
I don't believe in writers block
I believe a moments of inspiration
right now you're trying to write without having anything to write about.
you can't force art and creation
when I notice I can't come up with anything new I simply put the instrument down for a little while and go do other things. eventually my brain will absorb enough things in the world and start coming up with riffs again.
but the best cure for writers block is to simply stop writing.
take a break experience some things it will come back

Hi Hailey,
I spent 12 years in Nashville playing but the most important thing was I learned to write songs the right way while I was there. I managed to get some published while I was there. If you get writers block, just start thinking about things average people think about, things you believe in,things you feel strongly about, stories of older people, stories that move you emotionally. Great songs must be able to move the listener emotionally. You gotta make them laugh, cry, move them or at least make them say "Hell Yea!!!" If you want to make money writing songs, you have to write songs about things the average person can relate to because when artists are looking for songs, these are the songs they look for. WHY? Because it is the average American that goes to WalMart and buys the CDs. I hope that helps. If you wanna chat more and maybe co-write hit me at [email protected]. I love to write Country Music.
