I'm just curious how many guys can actually do this without losing much sleep. I've had a handful of times that I've been in a situation and it crossed my mind what would be different if I took a life. It's puzzled me how would my life had changed if I did. Now I'm not talking about war as I'm sure there are vets and law enforcement that have, as well as a few who did to protect family and themselves. I'm not talking about senseless killing either.
I relive a few instances where I've been there and it puzzles me as to how others would respond and deal with it, if it came down to it.

That's understandable, but I've always thought that if there is only one side of the story then your good. Dead men don't give statements is what I've always heard.

Many times police officers who have had to use deadly force end up going through counseling in order to deal with it.
While I have a carry permit my weapon has never left my apartment. I've thought a lot about this and my life would absolutely have to be seriously threatened: and I mean seriously:
He's broken into my apartment, and is raising his 9mm at me saying I'm dead. And even then it would still bother me.

I've carried daily since I was 23, managed a few pawnshops in rough neighborhoods. Dealt with break ins, drug fueled lunatics, and a few other hairy instances. Although I'm not in that business anymore, I still keep my gun close by. I thought all cops who use their service piece, regardless if it was fatal or not had to take a leave. They also have to see a shrink and ride a desk till the investigation is over.

i think if the situation allowed for it, i would gladly wing someone thats broken into my home.
Don't admit you just intended to wing them. You will be sued then.
If the situation did not warrant the use of deadly force you are on very questionable grounds using it,in your home or any where else.

If you shoot and kill someone, you are going to jail, now you may or may not be released after and investigation. depends upon the circumstances.

i know, id never admit it, but id rather wing a man than outright kill him. not everyone criminal is a recidivist.
If you have a Concealed Carry Permit, in NE you are require to keep shooting until the threat is eliminated/neutralized. If you have to shoot them...shoot to kill. Much wisdom in that. Law Enforcement are trained at the Academy to double tap, in those situations.

I've never had to pull the trigger on a gun in self defense; though I've done comparable things without losing sleep In most cases.

Honestly.. when it comes to my safety or the safety of my familly, it's a very simple choice. I have to admit though I am very relieved that the two times my buddy had to show up to the party the offending persons had enough sense to vacate my space.

Without a single trepidation, but being a man of conscience, it would have to be justified.
