Rendered useless are calendars to indicate just how long it’s been;
‘Cause I’m aware of each passing day since I lost my love, my friend!
For years ago you left this realm, yes, it’s November fourth once again;
So annually, to honor your memory, with love, to you a poem I pen.
Loss of words can be found, but inept for the emotions to be expressed!
To encompass all would create a whirlwind of thoughts, I’d only digress.
At times, your celestial presence is so real or maybe imagined, I guess.
But as I search Time’s horizon, I can’t contemplate missing you any less
So incomplete, being half of one; is even worse than any of our bad times.
We would soar towards the sun, united we were more than sublime!
Getting closer together, day and night, in our love we became intertwined;
As two flowers blooming in harmony, side by side, sharing one vine.
It may be bias or even arrogant , but I view our love as being unique;
Drawing strength from each other, not surrendering when times were bleak.
Such a rarity that many times since, that without you, I can feel so weak.
Your memory, I keep alive, It’s all I have in lieu for the absence of love I seek.
Always in my thoughts,
Joey

Every time I think I am doing fine.
I come in here and find a reason to cry.

Joey-
What a beautiful poem to honor your love. The years seem to pass and the hurt does subside but some days just a simple song or word can bring us back to the beginning. She is always with you--just in your heart and those memories will always keep her alive.
She was lucky to have such a sweet man to love her.

I would like to say Thank You to all who replied and even understand
and yes, It is a type of therapy for me and my feeble attempt to maybe help someone who truly understands; Sadly we are not alone and yet that is the key to continue...
(Sorry for the late reply, Don't have my own computer as of yet. But Again Thank all of you so very much for your feedback it also helps me to find solace)---Joey

How beautiful and precious are the memories are that you, mrcrash and unknownsofar have of your loved one. Truly wish that'd been the case with my late husband. Sadly, he was, I believe suffering from early stages of dementia no doubt from excessive alcohol consumption. Tears come at times, but sadness I feel is for the lifetime he wasted blaming all of us for everything that he thought was wrong.
