Stayed home today, too. I should have been more prepared for the snow. I usually have all my porch things covered and stacked. Thank goodness I dug up my bulbs the day before, lol.

Cold this morning and it aint going to improve much....tomorrow we'll get together at the Post and work out who is cooking what for Turkey day! I usually smoke a couple birds, everybody pitches in and its a free feast for members who live alone or don't cook and for everybody who just shows up...we'll eat like pigs, play cards , watch football and its a pretty good bet I'll have a few drinks!
I cant believe its just a month until Christmas. Hell I haven't even figured out what I'll buy mself this year! Im thinking about one of the Can-Am bikes, that trike with two wheels in the front and one in the back....but age is catching up with me and Im just not sure how much I'll ride it.

Good morning Cowboy, Bier, Tknme and all the sleepy ones just reading.
The storm will be hitting my area tonight. The winds have been howling for the last few days. I am a bit concerned about the freezing rain mixed in with the snow. My new property managers don't clean off the stairs or pathways, not sure if I will be able to get out. I only have a plastic shovel.  I might have to have spam turkey with the cat for Thanksgiving, lol.
might just have to share Thanksgiving with all of you.

Looking into renting a house in Florida in the Sarasota area for January (beach). I aint quite ready to move south but getting out of the cold for a month (maybe two depending on availability) wouldn't be a bad thing.
I rented down there(Naples) before but it was only for a week.That place is booked solid, but Ive got some good leads on the other areas.

zoe..I call it "Graysville". Once winter sets in it mostly stays gray and cold.January and February, especially here along the river gets pretty cold. We get snow, some years quite a bit, but also a lot of ice.
If I do this rental it has to be pet friendly (lots are) and I prefer a house to a condo. Either on the beach or walking distance.Ive emailed a few already, will see what I get back. I have a few friends who might be interested in sharing the cost. If not I wouldn't go for that long by myself.
When I went for a week last January I had "company". W went out on a fishing charter, did some tourist stuff and took a short day cruise to Key West

Ive been RVing a long time cowboy.Met some really good folks. I prefer it to flying or driving now that Im retired. My unit is as comfortable as a very nice hotel room and its just funto load up some friends and go wherever we want.if we get tied we stop.Hell, Ive stayed in a lot of Walmart parking lots, everything I need is aboard the RV.
what we usually do is once we arrive at whatever event or destination we are going to we rent a minivan to run around in....use a RV park as "Base camp"...did that last year at the Daytona 500 and it worked out really good. But we have one rule-if you drink-take a cab!We had a guy get arrested and it was a real headache for everybody else-AND HIM .

Well you are in for a treat cowboy. I usually fix some meals ahead of time and just use a grille outside or warm them in the kitchen of my RV. I always put up my UK Wildcat flag so folks will know I'm a Kentuckian and set up chairs, table outside. Sometimes I even set up a bar, coolers and invite ANYBODY to drop by-met a lot of good folks that way.I got a bunch of different lights I string outside under the awning depending on the event or holiday, whatever. Sounds like you got a good deal, enjoy it.
In most RV parks everything you need is right there, internet, cable tv, some do "pot lucks" at dinner to get people together, have nice pools, really clean shower facilities and good security. I really enjoy it.

Happy Thanksgiving Ya All!!!
The turkey shot out of the oven and rocketed into the air,
it knocked every plate off the table and partly demolished a chair.
It ricocheted into a corner and burst with deafening boom,
then splattered all over the kitchen, completely obscuring the room.
It stuck to the walls and the windows, it totally coated the floor,
there was turkey attached to the ceiling, where there'd never
been turkey before.
It blanketed every appliance, it smeared every saucer and bowl,
there wasn't a way I could stop it, that turkey was out of control.
I scraped and I scrubbed with displeasure, and thought with
chagrin as I mopped, that I'd never again stuff a
turkey with popcorn that hadn't been popped!

I worked at the VFW all day feeding anybody who came in the door. Got about half loaded and slept on a friends couch(I don't drink and drive). Just got home this morning....it was a good day!

To everyone , I think the worst thing was the fact it was my drivers door ,am only glad she didnt hit me hard enough to get to me in the drivers seat, now I have to wait to get repairs done , with any luck sooner than later.. Must confess tho it shook me up so I went in and just sat down in the cafeteriera where I was going , the line was terribly long but I went in through the *out* area... to collect myself .. They are good people who work there....
