Have you heard of the "cross the line" game? Some Wisconsin parents claim their students told them that if they didn't participate, they’d receive an in-school suspension.
Parents upset over game played at middle school
fox11online.com
MARINETTE - Some parents are upset after they say their children played an inappropriate game at Marinette Middle School. The game is called "Cross the Line."
MARINETTE - Lori Saunier is one of nearly a dozen parents who have expressed their displeasure over a game played at Marinette Middle School.
“This kind of stuff, I mean, this can’t happen again. These are our little kids. We’re parents. We should’ve been protecting them. You should’ve gave us the benefit of the doubt of contacting us,” said Saunier, mother of 7th grade student.
On Wednesday, fifth through eighth grade students played the game called “Cross the Line”.
Parents say their children were asked personal questions like, do your parents drink and has anyone in your family been in jail?
Students were also asked to step forward if they answered yes to any of the questions.
Neither the school principal nor the district superintendent would answer questions on camera, but in a written statement, the principal said participation was not required and students could have said no.
However, parents claim their students told them that if they didn’t participate, they’d receive an in-school suspension.
Sarah Maitland was one of the students who played the game.
“She asked if you ever wanted to commit suicide to step forward and then after that she asked if you ever experienced or wanted to cut, to step forward,” said Maitland.
The school says the activity is a part of a bullying prevention program.
A few parents met with the superintendent, the principal and the assistant principal Friday morning to express their concerns with the game.
“They basically told us that all the students were lying…all the students got together and planned it out and if they weren’t lying, it was all misperceptions. They didn’t specifically say do your parents do drugs,” said Amanda Fifarek, mother of 7th grade student.
School administrators said, “The intent of the activity was to build stronger, more respectful relationships among students.”
However, parents said they believe it actually makes it easier for students to bully each other.
“It was too personal. It’s just things your kids don’t need to be disclosing to other kids,” Fifarek said.
On Friday the school sent home a letter explaining more about the game and why it was used, but the parents who oppose it say it’s not enough. They still want answers.
Parents say they were not told that the game was going to be played.
The school says if there’s another such activity, it will let parents know ahead of time.

Justice Antonin Scalia says World War II-style internment camps could happen again
By Joel Gehrke | FEBRUARY 4, 2014 AT 1:57 PM
Justice Antonin Scalia predicts that the Supreme Court will eventually authorize another a wartime abuse of civil rights such as the internment camps for Japanese Americans during World War II.
"You are kidding yourself if you think the same thing will not happen again," Scalia told the University of Hawaii law school while discussing Korematsu v. United States, the ruling in which the court gave its imprimatur to the internment camps.
The local Associated Press report quotes Scalia as using a Latin phrase that means "in times of war, the laws fall silent," to explain why the court erred in that decision and will do so again.
"That's what was going on — the panic about the war and the invasion of the Pacific and whatnot," Scalia said. "That's what happens. It was wrong, but I would not be surprised to see it happen again, in time of war. It's no justification but it is the reality."
When the late Sen. Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, had the chance to get out of the Japanese-American internment camps and fight in World War II, he jumped at it, eventually earning a Medal of Honor for "conspicuous gallantry" near San Terenzo, Italy, in 1942. You should read his Medal of Honor citation here.

Now that most Americans realize that Barack Hussein Obama is also a Muslim,( not an African American) and his real religion is Islam, (not Christianity) I urge you to look up the word Taqiyya on the Internet. It will make it easier to understand where he is taking our country. Once you see the privileges that Islamist are allowed...like lying and not honoring treaties...you will understand why he cannot be trusted as our president. As we anticipate talks between him and Irans new president, Rouhani, (also a Muslim) can you imagine how they could conspire to totally destroy our country?! It is the goal of Islamist to spread their religion throughout the world and kill all Christians who dont convert! America has never faced such danger as we are facing now! We should all be praying that God will spare us from this evil that weve foolishly allowed to enter our government.

15 February “Catastrophe” Warned Will Shake Entire World | EUTimes.net
www.eutimes.net
A grim report circulating in the Kremlin today prepared the by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Ministry of Defense is warning that the assassinations this past week of three top Western bankers coincide with Snowden Documents detailing a 15 February 2014 “catastrophe” being engineered by the Obama regime in order to establish some type of “new world economic order” prior to the coming global meltdown of markets and massive bank failures, some of which have already begun.
Edward Snowden is a computer specialist and former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) agent who with his yet unidentified US military backers obtained nearly two million highly classified top-secret documents from the United States Department of Defense (DOD) run National Security Agency-Central Security Service (NSA/CSS) and was granted temporary asylum in Russia in 2013 after his designation by the Obama regime as the “most wanted man on earth.”
The three Western bankers targeted for elimination by Obama regime “black team hit squads,” this report says, were Deutsche Bank executive Bill Broeksmit, 58, found dead at his home in Chelsea, south west London, on 26 January, JPMorgan Chase & Company vice president in technology operations Gabriel Magee, 39, who died after falling from his London headquarters on 28 January, and chief economist at Russell Investments, and former US Federal Reserve economist, Mike Dueker, 50, found dead at the side of a highway that leads to the Tacoma Narrows Bridge in Washington State on 31 January.

The “common link” between these bankers, this GRU report continues, began this past year after two JP Morgan whistleblowers confessed that their bank manipulates the gold and silver markets, which led to this past weeks stunning announcement that Europe’s largest bank, Deutsche Bank, would withdraw from the appropriately named gold and silver price “fixing”, as European regulators investigate the manipulation of precious metals prices by Western banks.
Deutsche Bank executive Broeksmit, called among the “finest minds” in his field, and Russell Investments Dueker, ranked among the top 5 percent of economists by number of works published, this report says, were at the forefront of the European investigation into JPMorgan gold and silver price manipulation and had as their “inside man” JPMorgan tech guru Magee who oversaw his banks computer systems built for this crime.
Critical to note, GRU economic analysts say in this report, is that if the price of gold and silver were to achieve their “honest” level, JPMorgan would collapse as it does not have the reserves needed to equal the “paper” gold it has already sold, and a JPMorgan collapse would then, in turn, implode the entire global economic system.
Even worse, this report continues, JPMorgan crimes have now reached into the motherland itself after the Russian Central Bank (RCB) yesterday was forced to shut down Moscow-based lenders My Bank and Priroda Bank after they were unable to retrieve their foreign deposits from the British multinational banking and financial services company HSBC due to their imposing restrictions on large cash withdrawals on 24 January.
As the United States just reported its worst January stock market in 24 years, this report continues, the Obama regimes “master plan” of purposefully creating global financial chaos in order to destabilize enemy countries and create a flight into the US dollar is now failing and has led to the highly influential trends forecaster Gerald Celente to warn people this week that they need to “brace themselves for a disastrous global collapse and riots that will engulf the entire world.”
Not just Celente is issuing warnings either, this report says, but so has too the famous US economist and former Harvard economics professor Terry Burnham who during an interview this past week on PBS NewsHour stated that he was removing his $1 million of life savings from Bank of America because American banks are no longer safe.
This GRU further notes that despite the 6.5% US stock market rally over the last three months, a handful of billionaires are quietly dumping their American stocks . . . and fast.
Most ominous to note in this GRU report are Russian intelligence analysts noting that Snowden’s documents refer to a 15 February “catastrophe” due to occur based upon the US nearing a Black Eagle Trust Fund type “event horizon.”
Though virtually unknown to the American, within two hours of the 11 September 2001 attacks, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) declared a national emergency, and for the first time in US history, invoked its emergency powers under Securities Exchange Act Section 12(k) easing regulatory restrictions for clearing and settling security trades for the next 15 days.
These changes would allow an estimated $240 billion in covert US government securities to be cleared upon maturity without the standard regulatory controls around identification of ownership due to the quickly unfolding Black Eagle Trust Fund plot that would have most certainly destroyed the entire global economic system.
Even more ominous, and, again, virtually unknown to the American people, is that the war the US has been waging for over a decade was, in fact, declared on 10 September 2011 when then Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, testifying before the US Congress [watch video HERE], stated that he had declared war on the Pentagon itself over his discovery of over $2.3 trillion missing from their accounts and warning it was a “matter of life and death.”
To if the Obama regime would resort to a 9/11 type false flag attack once again to protect the Western banking system, this report gravely warns, cannot be ruled out as evidence has long proven what German central bank president Ernst Welteke called “terrorism insider trading” relating to this horrific event.
Specifically, the Chicago Board Options Exchange reported to the SEC that four days before the attack an extremely unbalanced number of trades betting United’s stock price would fall were being placed, followed one day before the attack by the US stock options market authorities reporting to the SEC that an equally extraordinary number of trades were betting that American Airlines stock price would fall too. As to who made these trades, and made tens-of-millions of dollars from them, the world will never know as the Obama regimes SEC admitted in 2010 that they had destroyed all the documents relating to them.
This GRU report further notes that with the New York City headquarters of the SEC destroyed on 9/11 after the mysterious implosion of World Trade Center Building 7, and the equally devastating cruise missile attack on the Pentagon that destroyed its computing accounting system burying forever the information on where the missing $2.3 trillion went, this new “catastrophic event” being planned by the Obama regime within a fortnight of 15 February can be expected to be as worse, and will, most assuredly, “shake the entire world.”

Who Is On Food Stamps, By State
Most recent data indicates about 47.5 million Americans are on food stamps, with enrollment varying greatly from state to state.
The number of participants for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as food stamps, rose sharply during the Great Recession. Enrollment has since stabilized, but the total applying for SNAP benefits has yet to recede in most states.
Nationwide, more than one in seven Americans receive SNAP benefits.
Parts of the South are responsible for the largest share of people who are on food stamps. Mississippi recorded the highest participation rate of any state in fiscal year 2012, with about 22 percent of the population on food stamps. By comparison, only 6 percent of Wyoming residents received SNAP benefits.
Participation rates for those who are on food stamps differ in each state, partly due to differences in eligibility requirements and how states administer SNAP. Of course, states with more low-income households also have more of their population eligible for food stamps, further explaining higher participation rates.
SNAP Participation Map
The following map shows the approximate average monthly share of each state's total population receiving SNAP benefits in fiscal year 2012. Click a state to view historical annual data. Figures represent Governing calculations using USDA data and Census Bureau population estimates.
SNAP (Food Stamps): Facts, Myths and Realities
PROGRAM FACTS
SNAP is targeted at the most vulnerable.
76% of SNAP households included a child, an elderly person, or a disabled person. These vulnerable households receive 83% of all SNAP benefits.
SNAP eligibility is limited to households with gross income of no more than 130% of the federal poverty guideline, but the majority of households have income well below the maximum: 83% of SNAP households have gross income at or below 100% of the poverty guideline ($19,530 for a family of 3 in 2013), and these households receive about 91% of all benefits. 61% of SNAP households have gross income at or below 75% of the poverty guideline ($14,648 for a family of 3 in 2013).[ii]
The average SNAP household has a gross monthly income of $744; net monthly income of $338 after the standard deduction and, for certain households, deductions for child care, medical expenses, and shelter costs; and countable resources of $331, such as a bank account.[iii]
SNAP is responsive to changes in need, providing needed food assistance as families fall into economic hardship and then transitioning away as their financial situation stabilizes.
SNAP participation historically follows unemployment with a slight lag. SNAP participation grew during the recession, responding quickly and effectively to increased need. As the number of unemployed people increased by 94% from 2007 to 2011, SNAP responded with a 70% increase in participation over the same period. [iv]
As the economy recovers and people go back to work, SNAP participation and program costs, too, can be expected to decline. Unemployment has begun to slowly fall, and SNAP participation growth has flattened out. The Congressional Budget Office projects SNAP participation to begin declining in 2015, with both unemployment and SNAP participation returning to near pre-recession levels by 2022.[v]
SNAP has a strong record of program integrity.
SNAP error rates declined by 57% since FY2000, from 8.91% in FY2000 to a record low of 3.80% in FY2011.[vi] The accuracy rate of 96.2% (FY2011) is an all-time program high and is considerably higher than other major benefit programs, for example Medicare fee-for-service (91.5%) or Medicare Advantage Part C (88.6%). [vii]
Two-thirds of all SNAP payment errors are a result of caseworker error. Nearly one-fifth are underpayments, which occur when eligible participants receive less in benefits than they are eligible to receive.[viii]
The national rate of food stamp trafficking declined from about 3.8 cents per dollar of benefits redeemed in 1993 to about 1.3 cent per dollar during the years 2009 to 2011.[ix] As you may have read in local news, USDA is aggressively fighting trafficking, but while there are individual cases of program abuse, for every one instance of fraud, there are hundreds of stories of heartbreaking need.
The need for food assistance is already greater than SNAP can fill.
SNAP benefits don’t last most participants the whole month. 90% of SNAP benefits are redeemed by the third week of the month, and 58% of food bank clients currently receiving SNAP benefits turn to food banks for assistance at least 6 months out of the year.[x]
The average monthly SNAP benefit per person is $133.85, or less than $1.50 per person, per meal. [xi]
Only 57% of food insecure individuals are income-eligible for SNAP, and 26% are not income-eligible for any federal food assistance.[xii]

PROGRAM MYTHS & REALITIES
Farm Bill
The cuts proposed in the Farm Bill aren’t a cut to benefits.
While proposals such as restricting categorical eligibility and “heat and eat” may not be a direct cut to benefit levels, it is inaccurate to suggest that they will not impact benefits. Families who lose benefits because of changes in eligibility rules or enrollment processes will feel just as much pain in their refrigerators as if they had received a straightforward cut to their benefit allotment.
The Farm Bill finds savings in SNAP without really hurting needy families.
Given SNAP’s exceptional efficiency, it is simply not possible to achieve significant savings without directly impacting participants. About 95 percent of federal SNAP spending goes directly to benefits and the remaining spending covers important services like employment and training services that help participants move from welfare to work, nutrition education that empowers individuals to make healthy choices on a limited budget, and federal oversight and trafficking prevention for the roughly 200,000 retail stores that accept SNAP benefits.[xiii]
The $4.1 billion SNAP “heat and eat” cut contained in the 2013 Senate Farm Bill is expected to cause about 400,000 low-income households to lose an average $90 per month in benefits, imposing a significant hardship for families struggling to put food on the table.[xiv] The steeper, $20.5 billion in cuts in the 2013 House bill would only hurt more families more deeply. 850,000 households would see their benefits cut by an average $90 per month. The cut to categorical eligibility would cause 2 million low-income individuals to lose their SNAP benefits completely, and 210,000 low-income children would be cut from free school meals because their enrollment is tied to their family’s SNAP participation. [xv]
Proposed cuts will close loopholes that allow people who don’t need assistance into the program.
The perception that a sizeable portion of SNAP participants do not really need benefits is flatly wrong. SNAP very effectively targets nutrition assistance at the poorest households, those with gross income of up to 130 percent of poverty and up to $2000 in assets. While some states have exercised a state option to align SNAP eligibility rules with other programs, enabling them to serve households over the federal income and asset limit, the vast majority of households fall well below the maximum. Eighty-three percent of SNAP households have gross income at or below 100 percent of the poverty line and these households receive about 91 percent of all benefits.[xvi] The average SNAP household has only $333 in assets. [xvii]
States are implementing SNAP in a way that Congress did not intend and Farm Bill proposals correct that.
Congress has provided several options to allow states to implement SNAP in the way that best meets their individual needs, including options to streamline and coordinate the administration of multiple programs serving the same families. Restricting categorical eligibility would require caseworkers to recertify the eligibility of applicants whose income and assets have already been verified by their enrollment in another program, creating unnecessary duplication and inefficiency. By restricting “heat and eat,” states will lose administrative flexibility to aid individuals in need of assistance.
Restricting categorical eligibility and “heat and eat” options will increase the administrative burden on states without strengthening program integrity. Curtailing state flexibility and increasing administrative waste at a time when state and local budgets have already forced cutbacks will make it harder for states to effectively and efficiently administer the program.
Heat and Eat
The “heat and eat” policy is a loophole.
The LIHEAP-SNAP relationship is a valid programmatic coordination. The “heat and eat” option allows states to streamline and coordinate the administration of multiple programs serving the same low-income families. By restricting “heat and eat,” states will lose administrative flexibility to aid individuals in need of assistance. At the same time, it will increase the administrative burden on states without strengthening program integrity.
Families who struggle to put food on the table often make choices between buying enough food and paying for utilities
According to a survey conducted by the National Energy Assistance Director’s Association, nearly one-third of families receiving LIHEAP assistance reported that they went without food during the last five years as a result of high home energy costs.[xviii] Similarly, many client households served by Feeding America food banks report that their household incomes are inadequate to cover their basic household expenses. In fact, 46% of client households served reported having to choose between paying for utilities or heating fuel and food.[xix]
The “Heat and Eat” cut will disproportionally impact households with elderly and disabled individuals concentrated in 16 states.
Elderly and disabled households are more likely to make use of the heat and eat policy when enrolling SNAP and will thus be disproportionately impacted. Furthermore, the full impact of the cut will be borne only by the 16 states currently using the policy option: CA, CT, DE, DC, ME, MA, MI, NH, NJ, NY, OR, PA, RI, VT, WA, and WI. While these 16 states distribute about 36.5% of all SNAP benefits nationwide, they will bear 100% of the cuts.[xx]

Categorical Eligibility
Categorical eligibility allows many people to automatically enroll in SNAP who wouldn’t otherwise qualify for the program.
Categorical eligibility does not allow households to enroll automatically; they must still apply through the regular SNAP application process, which has rigorous procedures for documenting applicants’ income, citizenship, work status, and other circumstances.
Categorical eligibility allows states the option of aligning SNAP eligibility rules for gross income and asset limits with TANF to reduce administrative costs and simplify the eligibility determination process. While three-fourths of SNAP households were categorically eligible, almost all would also have been eligible for SNAP under standard rules.[xxi]
While a small number of households would not have met gross income and asset eligibility rules without categorical eligibility, SNAP families are still among the poorest households:
The average SNAP household has a gross monthly income of $744 and net monthly income of $338.[xxii]
SNAP rules limit eligibility to households with gross income under 130% of poverty and net income at or below 100% of poverty. While categorical eligibility allows states to set a higher gross income limit, only 1.5% of SNAP households in 2010 had monthly net income above 150% of the poverty line, so the policy has not made SNAP available to large numbers of households with incomes above the federal gross income limit of 130% of poverty.[xxiii]
SNAP rules limit eligibility to households with assets of no more than $2000 ($3250 for households with a senior or disabled member). The average SNAP household still has assets of only $331.[xxiv] Additionally, the SNAP asset limit of $2,000 has not been adjusted for inflation in 25 years and has fallen by 48% in real terms since 1986.[xxv]
Categorical eligibility has dramatically increased program participation.
The dramatic increase in SNAP participation and costs is a result of the recession, not categorical eligibility. Our nation has seen the highest unemployment rates in nearly 30 years.
SNAP participation historically follows unemployment with a slight lag. SNAP participation grew during the recession, responding quickly and effectively to increased need. As the number of unemployed people increased by 94% from 2007 to 2011, SNAP responded with a 70% increase in participation over the same period. [xxvi]
As the economy recovers and people go back to work, SNAP participation and program costs, too, can be expected to decline. Unemployment has begun to slowly fall, and SNAP participation growth has flattened out. The Congressional Budget Office projects SNAP participation to begin declining in 2015, with both unemployment and SNAP participation returning to near pre-recession levels by 2022.[xxvii]
Eliminating categorical eligibility would significantly reduce costs.
Eliminating categorical eligibility would achieve savings by causing about 2 million low-income people currently enrolled in SNAP to lose their benefits and 210,000 children to lose free school meals.[xxviii] Many more families newly applying for assistance would have their benefit issuance delayed because of the increased complexity of applying and additional processing time required. This human cost is too high a price to pay with so many families struggling to get by in this economy.
In addition to the loss of needed food assistance for struggling families, this savings would come at the expense of increased administrative costs. Eliminating the streamlined application process that categorical eligibility allows would require states to allocate staff time to duplicate enrollment procedures and incur the cost of modifying their computer systems, reprinting applications and manuals, and retraining staff.
Program Growth
Generous eligibility rules and program fraud and abuse have caused participation in SNAP to balloon, sharply driving up the cost of the program when the nation can least afford it.
[xxix]
As the economy recovers and people go back to work, SNAP participation and program costs, too, can be expected to decline. Unemployment has begun to slowly fall, and SNAP participation growth has flattened out. The Congressional Budget Office projects SNAP participation to begin declining in 2015, with both unemployment and SNAP participation returning to near pre-recession levels by 2022.[xxx]
Administrative Spending
We could achieve significant savings by cutting administrative expenses alone without doing harm to SNAP participants.
SNAP administrative expenses are small. Federal administrative expenditures for SNAP equal less than 4.5% of overall federal SNAP costs. About 95% of that is the federal share of state administrative costs for operating the program. [xxxi] SNAP caseloads have risen by more than 75% since FY2007 due to historic unemployment, but federal spending on state administrative costs has only risen by 17% over the same period.[xxxii]
SNAP administrative expenses are essential. Administrative expenditures cannot be cut significantly without compromising program integrity. Administrative expenditures in SNAP are used for essential functions like verifying eligibility, preventing benefit trafficking, administering work requirements, and related functions.
Much of the administrative savings that is being discussed isn’t what you or I would consider program administration. For example, it includes spending on employment and training services that help SNAP participants move from welfare to work and federal oversight of the roughly 200,000 retail stores that accept SNAP benefits. Overstating the level of administrative spending really amounts to a call for cuts to SNAP benefits, eligibility, and essential services.

Work Requirements
SNAP doesn’t do enough to encourage participants to get a job, and the program needs stronger work requirements.
SNAP already has strict time-limits for unemployed workers. Able-bodied adults without dependents (ABAWDs) may only receive 3 months of SNAP benefits during any 3 year period, unless they are working in a qualifying job training program.
The SNAP benefit formula is structured to provide a strong work incentive – for every additional dollar a SNAP participant earns, their benefits decline by about 24 to 36 cents, not a full dollar, so participants have a strong incentive to find work, work longer hours, or seek better-paying employment.[xxxiii]
Citizenship Requirements
We need tougher enforcements on illegal immigrants using SNAP.
Undocumented immigrants are ineligible for SNAP. Additionally, there is already a strict waiting period for documented immigrants. Documented adult immigrants (those with a greencard) are subject to a five-year waiting period before they are eligible for SNAP.
Noncitizens make up a very small portion of SNAP participants – only 4% of participants are noncitizens (documented immigrants or refugees).[xxxiv]
Performance Bonuses
Eliminating SNAP performance bonuses would cut unnecessary spending.
$48 million is a small investment to incentivize superior performance in a multi-billion program.
The modest $48 million annual investment in SNAP performance bonuses has helped improve states’ performance, maximizing the federal investment in SNAP and ensuring that benefits are distributed in the correct amount and reach those who need them. The bonuses have incentivized states to improve performance, share best practices, and work to improve SNAP in way that was rare prior to 2002.
Operating an accurate, efficient program that effectively reaches people in need is critical to program integrity, and performance bonuses have successfully improved program performance:
The implementation of performance bonuses in the 2002 Farm Bill, alongside the transition from paper coupons to electronic benefit cards and other policy improvements, helped contribute to remarkable improvements in payment accuracy. Payment error rates are a measurement that combines over- and underpayments. Nationally, SNAP payment error rates decreased from 8.26 percent in FY2002, before the bonuses were in place, to 3.80 percent in FY2011, an all-time low.[xxxv] This improvement in payment accuracy represents an overall reduction in payment errors of 54 percent.
Performance bonuses encourage states to focus on breaking down participation barriers and enroll eligible individuals. The implementation of participation rate bonuses in the 2002 Farm Bill, alongside program outreach and other policy improvements, helped improve the ability of SNAP to reach eligible participants. Nationally, SNAP participation rates increased from 54 percent in FY2002 to 75 percent in FY2010, a 39 percent improvement.[xxxvi]
States often use performance bonuses to reinvest in their SNAP program, further strengthening the program.
States have use funds to finance their on-line applications, case worker tools that improve efficiencies and program integrity, improved data matching with respect to earnings, and job training programs.
Deficit Reduction
Deficit Reduction
It’s only fair to spread budget cuts across programs. Everyone has to contribute their share to deficit reduction.
Our nation’s budget is a moral document, and the decisions Congress is making will have a real impact on real people. It’s easy to lose sight of that in Washington, but food banks and other charities on the ground know this is about more than numbers on a balance sheet. This is about real people – neighbors, constituents – who are struggling just to put food on the table.
Washington has a long history of a bipartisan commitment to protecting the safety net and low-income people in past deficit reduction agreements. The three major deficit-reduction packages of the last two decades — the 1990, 1993, and 1997 packages — all adhered to this principle. This principle was upheld in the bipartisan Bowles-Simpson Deficit Commission.
Low-income families have already given more than they can bear to our nation’s economic policies. Low-income communities have suffered higher foreclosure rates,[xxxvii] and low-income families have experienced unemployment at a far higher rate.[xxxviii] Low-income families have also seen their incomes decline as our nation has experienced a growing wealth gap between rich and poor.[xxxix]
Cuts to nutrition assistance programs are not only immoral, they are short-sighted. The impact of our nation’s hunger problem is estimated at over $167 billion per year.[xl] By improving access to food, federal nutrition programs protect families from hunger and improve their health and educational outcomes, making these programs a critical investment in people and communities for both the short and long-term.

I've only read the SNAP up to the immigrant part but so far 2 statements were prominent.
76% of snappees are a child elderly or disabled. And then the statement needing more efforts for snappees to find work.
So 24% of recips may be the focus for jobs re unemployment apps...
Wow... ok..back to the article... interesting....
{This is such a tough cold harsh winter for utility bills.}
Thx clar

TAQIYYA; TAQIYYAH (from Clarity's post above)
Taqiyya, or not showing their faith openly by means of pretense, dissimulation, or concealment, is a special type of LYING which is taught and used by Shi'a Muslims, cf. Sunni Muslims and Taqiyya. "Taqiyya" (or taqiyyah) is related to the terms "taqwa'" and "taqi'" - all have the root meaning of "guarding" something, in this case, the Islamic faith.
This practice, along with the practice of Kithman, or concealing their faith from non-Shi'as, were, and are many places today, a method of self-preservation for the Shi'a community. Historically, the Shiites have been in the minority and have been persecuted by Sunni Muslims who considered them heretics. Shi'as are often persecuted today in Pakistan and Afghanistan and Sunni-Shi'a violence is fairly common. Sunnis would often attempt to force Shi'as to curse the House of Ali - believing that no devout Shiite could commit such an act. As a result of this persecution, the idea of taqiyya emerged. In other words, if a Shi'a Muslim's life is in danger, he may lie as long as he holds true to Ali in his heart.

The First Congressman To Battle The NSA Is Dead
Wednesday, February 5, 2014 5:46
(N.Morgan) Many of you may not have heard of Congressman Otis Pike, but he led the Pike Committee in exposing the NSA scandal and those hearings were far more intense and revealing than the better-known Church Committee’s Senate hearings, which went on at the same time. His death has went unannounced and unnoticed, it seems by the media and this regime.
The Church Committee focused on excesses and abuses, implying that with the proper reforms and oversights, the intelligence structures could be set right. But as the Pike Committee started pulling up the floorboards, what they discovered quickly led Rep. Pike and others to declare that the entire intelligence apparatus was a dangerous boondoggle. Not only were taxpayers getting fleeced, but agencies like the NSA and CIA were a direct threat to America’s security and democracy, the proverbial monkey playing with a live grenade. The problem was that Pike asked the right questions—and that led him to some very wrong answers, as far as the powers that be were concerned.
It was Pike’s committee that got the first ever admission—from CIA director William Colby—that the NSA was routinely tapping Americans’ phone calls. Days after that stunning confession, Pike succeeded in getting the head of the NSA, Lew Allen Jr., to testify in public before his committee—the first time in history that an NSA chief publicly testified. It was the first time that the NSA publicly maintained that it was legally entitled to wiretap Americans’ communications overseas, in spite of the 1934 Communications Act and other legal restrictions placed on other intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
Thank you, Congressman Pike, for standing up for the American people and our right to know the truth. You will be missed, even if they want us to forget you, we will not. RIP-

The Obama Family Needs To be Arrested, Found To Be In Secret Plot To Establish Islamic Law
By Ted on February 4, 2014 in General
By Walid Shoebat
EXCLUSIVE
This report includes all necessary evidence to establish the case for Malik Obama’s link to terrorism. I have acquired Israeli intelligence reports, which add more teeth to make the case even stronger. This includes financial evidence. The hyperlinks in this report are essential. They link to monumental details provided from primary sources. These are not simply opinions; they are intelligence and government reports.
The report concludes that Malik Obama’s Foundation (BHOF) was incorrectly awarded tax-exempt status along with the Mama Sarah Obama Foundation (MSOF). Evidence points to the disguising of both as charities when in fact they both advance terror causes.
Malik Obama, in his official capacity as Executive Director of the Islamic Dawa Organization (IDO) [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7], is also responsible for “charitable fronts” but in reality these are “used to finance terrorism” by partnering with the Union of Good (UG). Pursuant to Executive Order 13224, the U.S. Treasury has designated Union of Good as “Terrorist front” which acts as an umbrella organization that represents over 50 Islamic fundraising groups worldwide, including IDO and WAMY (World Association of Muslim Youth), which are official members of UG. WAMY is “an extremist Islamic foundation in Saudi Arabi oriented towards Hamas” (see intelligence reports and financial transfers of funds here and here). Malik Obama connects his illegally obtained BHOF and IDO fundraising in his promotional billboards in Kogelo as well as in his partnership with WAMY (see Malik’s meeting with Secretary-General of WAMY Dr. Mohammed Omar Badahdah) [1] [2] [3] [4] Cooperation between these groups happens, in part, via WAMY’s office in Nairobi, Kenya and Badahdah’s financial aid to Hamas.
As we wrote previously, depending on the translation (Organization vs. Association), the IDO can be identified as Munazzamatal-Da’waal-Islamiia. On a promotional board featured on the BHOF website, the IDO is shown partnering with the BHOF on one of the projects:
The official website for UG shows IDO is still active. IDO also has a bank account in Al-Shamal bank, where it receives donations. This bank’s initial operations were heavily financed by Osama bin Laden and was even named as a co-defendant in a lawsuit filed by the families of 9/11/01 victims. Al-Hayat even reported that bin Laden owned the bank during his time in Sudan.
This is the tip of the iceberg as to why the UG – with its affiliates (including IDO) – has been designated by U.S. Department of Treasury as “financial fronts” for terrorism (see intelligence report here). On the UG website’s homepage, the two main photos of its two most prominent leaders are #1 president of its organization Yusuf al-Qaradawi (the unwavering supporter for Hezbollah, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organizations) and the #2 man is none other than Suar al-Dhahab (Malik Obama’s direct supervisor) who represents IDO and works closely with Hamas (see intelligence reports here). Under the UG website’s “Contributing Institutions” page, UG shows that one of the partners is Malik’s IDO. The website even provides the method for donating and lists all the affiliated organizations, including the contact information for Malik’s IDO to direct contributions for Hamas:
The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs (#19 on the list) in Israel (see #19 and also here), has investigated UG and concluded that:
“Dozens of foundations that are operated abroad by Hamas, most of which are members of the Union of Good, along with dozens of Hamas charitable associations active in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, form a well organized and coordinated support network, that includes Hamas’s fundraising arm abroad and the vital civilian and infrastructure networks in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. In this framework, tens of millions of dollars per annum are transferred from the overseas foundations to Hamas associations in the field.”

Hurley’s Ex-Lover Caught On Bombshell Audio Recording Revealing Ex-Prez’s White House Sex Romps Behind Wife Hillary’s Back
RadaOnline: As Hillary Clinton prepares to run for President in 2016, RadarOnline.com has uncovered bombshell new information that could torpedo her White House dreams: The philandering husband of the former United States Secretary of State, ex-PresidentBill Clinton, carried on a torrid year-long love affair with British supermodelElizabeth Hurley behind White House walls.
That’s the explosive revelation dropped by the man who says he arranged the secret tryst, actor Tom Sizemore.
In a blockbuster exclusive, Radar has unearthed a secret audio recording during which the Hollywood actor, who had his own three-year sexual liaison with Hurley, recounts how the famously-frisky ex-President once sent a plane to fly Hurley to Washington D.C., where he bedded her in the White House — while First Lady Hillary was in the very next room!REPORT: BILL CLINTON'S SECRET AFFAIR WITH ACTRESS... White House Sex Romps Behind Hillary's Back?
On the tape, recorded in January of this year and provided to Radar and GLOBE in a joint investigation, 52-year-old Sizemore boasts to two pals about how he arranged the pair’s first rendezvous.
According to the Black Hawk Down star, it all began during a 1998 White House screening of Saving Private Ryan, when President Clinton pulled Sizemore aside from the crowd of A-listers that included Tom Hanks, Matt Damon, Ed Burns and Dennis Farina.
The premiere of the film was four years after Hurley was catapulted into the limelight after wearing that Versace dress to the premiere of ex-boyfriend Hugh Grant’s film Four Weddings And A Funeral.
Sizemore claims that Clinton asked if he wanted to see the Lincoln Bedroom and after shaking his Secret Service detail, the pervy President quickly made his move!
“We walk in,” Sizemore says on the tape, when suddenly Clinton, then in his second-term of office, asked point-blank, “Did you go with Liz Hurley for four years? Do you still see her?”
When Sizemore confirmed they had dated but were no longer together, he says the President asked for her number.
Stunned at the suggestion, Sizemore admitted to being somewhat hesitant to dole out the digits, but claims Clinton insisted: “Give it to me. You dumb mother*****r, I’m the Commander-in-Chief of the United States of America. The buck stops here. Give me the damn number.”
The actor obliged, but before dialing, he says the President was already covering his tracks, thinking of his oblivious and long-suffering wife Hillary in the other room.
“[Clinton] said, ‘I’m going to say I asked you about your uncle, Ted Sizemore, who played professional baseball,” Sizemore recalls. “That’s the lie. Don’t forget it.’”
Then, Sizemore recounts, Clinton dialed, wasting no time in getting down to dirty business with the stunning brunette, now 48.
“Elizabeth, this is your Commander-in-Chief,” Clinton said to the actress, who played Vanessa Kensington in the 1997 hit Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.
And though Hurley at first thought it was a joke, she played coy, but the President wouldn’t take no for an answer!
Clinton said, “Listen Elizabeth, this is the President!” Sizemore recalls. “‘I don’t have any time for this ****. I‘m keeping the world from nuclear war all the time. I’m sending a plane to pick you up.”
Hours later, he claims, Hurley was at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
“While we’re at the reception, I see her,” Sizemore reveals, but then she disappeared through a door, trailed by a Secret Service agent.
As she disappeared into a room with the President, Sizemore charges, “Bill turns to me and he goes, ‘I owe you one.’”
As to what happened after that, Sizemore declares on the tape: “What do you think? She was there for four days. He f***ed her that night.”
Later, her recalled, “I asked her (Hurley), what was it like there? …I said was Hillary a problem? And she said ‘No, they sleep in different bedrooms.’”
“Bill said that, he intimated to Elizabeth that they have been, they’re in love,” Sizemore claims, “but they stopped [sleeping together] a long time ago and they both have separate romantic lives.”
As such, the steamy affair didn’t end after Hurley’s visit.
Sizemore says they kept in contact for a year, until Clinton ended the sexual shenanigans because he was falling deeply in love with the charming actress, 19 years his junior.

Sizemore says they kept in contact for a year, until Clinton ended the sexual shenanigans because he was falling deeply in love with the charming actress, 19 years his junior.
Sizemore’s claims will undoubtedly put the spotlight back on the oft-criticized marriage of Clinton, 67, and his long-suffering wife Hillary, the 66-year-old leading candidate to claim the White House in 2016.
The revelation of Hurley’s affair is just the latest in a long line of women who have claimed to have bedded the President and will only be more fuel for the fire for those who believe the couple is unfit to occupy the White House.
It will also put new scrutiny on Hurley – whose apparent indiscretion could have remained dead and buried if it was not for the explosive audio uncovered more than a decade later. She’s currently single again after reportedly splitting from Australian cricket superstar Shane Warne.
Sizemore revealed his own three-year fling with Hurley in his tell-all book, By Some Miracle I Made it Out of There.
In it, he detailed how the pair met on the set of the 1992 thriller Passenger 57 when he became instantly smitten by her “stunningly flawless ivory skin, beautiful voice and charming, throaty laugh.”
At the time, Hurley was dating Grant, the 53-year-old Golden Globe winner.
“I literally couldn’t conceal my awe or worshipful feelings for her,” Sizemore wrote in his tell-all. “In many ways Elizabeth was the seminal relationship of my young adulthood. She taught me a lot about myself.”
The stunning new disclosures of Bill Clinton’s outrageous serial cheating could quash long-suffering wife Hillary’s 2016 bid for the White House, sources tell GLOBE. For more details of the ex-Prez’s sexual shenanigans, pick up a copy of GLOBE on newsstands Thursday.

New court documents reveal final moments of border agent Brian Terry’s life
By William La Jeunesse, Laura Prabucki
Published February 05, 2014
| FoxNews.com
Three years after the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry -- a tragedy which exposed and ultimately ended Operation Fast and Furious -- the public is finally getting a glimpse into Terry's final moments.
Federal court records released Tuesday provide the first official account of the firefight along the Arizona-Mexico border that killed Terry in December 2010. Among other details, they reveal two of four federal agents at the scene that day actually fired bean bags -- not bullets -- at a violent drug gang carrying assault rifles. Weapons from the botched anti-gun trafficking program were found at Terry's murder scene.
Such an account was not available until now, with both the FBI and Department of Homeland Security never releasing an incident report and Terry's fellow agents under a gag order.
But as part of the court fight over the sentencing of admitted killer Manuel Osorio-Arellanes, prosecutors released first-hand accounts from three fellow agents involved in the shooting. Those agents, members of BORTAC, an elite unit within the Border Patrol, had deployed in the desert to locate a drug gang, known as a rip crew, that had terrorized the Nogales, Ariz., area for months.
The rip crew's job was to stop and steal the drug loads of competing smugglers. They also terrorized and assaulted human smugglers and otherwise innocent illegal immigrants trying to enter the U.S. Terry's specially trained team was specifically deployed in the desert to stop them.
Documents show that on Dec. 14, 2010, Terry's team was on a hill above a ravine. A ground sensor went off alerting them to the approaching smugglers. When agents yelled "police" in Spanish, the smugglers turned and fired. According to the documents, this happened at 11:08 p.m. Just 52 minutes later, Terry would have been relieved by a second BORTAC team and gone home for Christmas.
"I saw some members of the group point their weapons at us," Agent Gabriel Fragoza declared to the court. "Agent Castano and I deployed less lethal bean bag rounds as the individuals began to shoot at us. I saw muzzle flashes coming from the individuals, then heard Agent Terry say 'I'm hit! I'm hit! I can't feel my legs'."
Agent William Castano gave a similar account, saying, "I heard shooting which was coming from the wash. I heard Agent Terry say 'I'm hit.' I went to Agent Terry to administer first aid. At this time, he said, 'I can't feel my legs. I'm paralyzed.' Agent Terry soon lost consciousness and died at the scene."
Robert Heyer, Terry's cousin, told Fox News that few details have been released from that day.
"The court documents released in the last two days have given us some indication of what took place but I think the family really wants to really see and walk the ground in the area in question of where Brian died. We're hoping that will give them better understanding and closure in Brian's death," Heyer said.
Of the five-member rip crew, three are in custody and two remain at large. Manuel Osorio-Arellanes pleaded guilty to felony murder -- though he did not actually fire the bullet that killed Terry. Arrellanes had 51 rounds and an assault rifle when caught. That weapon and one additional AK-47 were found at the scene.
Under federal sentencing guidelines, Arellanes is set to get life in prison, though in a plea bargain the U.S. attorney is asking for 30 years.
The court records leave two unanswered questions. First, it is unclear who stashed Fast and Furious weapons in the desert. Second, it is unclear how the agents were so outgunned.
There's a principle in police work known as "plus one" -- which effectively holds that law enforcement should be better armed than the suspects they're pursuing. Confronting assault weapon-armed gang members in the desert with bean bags would seem to violate that principle.
The Border Patrol has said in the past that Terry's unit had the "freedom" to put down their bean bags and use other weapons, but chose not to. However, other Border Patrol agents say policy guidelines and the rules of engagement for BORTAC that night encouraged the agents to use non-lethal force first.

Headlight flashing OK, Missouri judge says
By JIM SALTER 8:00AM 2/6/2014
ST. LOUIS (AP) — It's a common practice among drivers who pass through a speed trap: Flash your headlights at approaching cars as a warning to slow down. Now, a federal court judge in Missouri says penalizing drivers for the headlight flash violates their First Amendment right to free speech.
U.S. District Judge Henry E. Autrey in St. Louis on Monday issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting the St. Louis County town of Ellisville from citing and prosecuting drivers who flash their lights to warn of radar and speed traps. Ellisville's city attorney said there are no plans to appeal.
The order stems from a lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri on behalf of Michael Elli. On Nov. 17, 2012, Elli flashed his headlights to warn oncoming vehicles of a radar set up by Ellisville police.
An officer saw the flash and pulled Elli over, citing him for a city ordinance violation, though a similar statute exists in Missouri law. Elli was told he would likely face a fine of up to $1,000 if convicted.
The case was eventually dropped. Ellisville City Attorney George Restovich said the city changed the policy and no longer pulls over people for flashing headlights.
"The reality is that the injunction doesn't change the way the city has been operating for the past 12 months," Restovich said.
Still, Ellisville continued to fight the suit. At a hearing last year, Ellisville officials made the case that flashing headlights could interfere with a police investigation.
But Autrey said in his ruling that the flashing of headlights was essentially a good thing, sending "a message to bring one's driving in conformity with the law — whether it be by slowing down, turning on one's own headlamps at dusk or in the rain, or proceeding with caution."
Jonathan Turley, a criminal attorney and a professor at George Washington University Law School, said courts across the country are dealing with the same issue. In virtually every case except those still being decided, the person cited has prevailed, Turley said.
"This has sweeping implications for the First Amendment," Turley said. "What this citizen is doing is warning other citizens about the violation of law. People regularly warn others about the possibility of arrest. There's no difference between a verbal warning and a mechanical warning. Both are forms of speech."
Jeffrey A. Mittman, executive director of the ACLU of Missouri, said that since filing the suit, his office has heard from many other drivers across Missouri complaining about similar police practices.
"It is important that law enforcement officers in other jurisdictions take note of this federal court decision and the ACLU-MO's commitment to free speech," Mittman said in a statement.

This video is a bit long, but I think all will find much of it worth our time. This geo-engineering topic goes into several other topics we've discussed here. It even refers to the gov'ts hollow point bullit purchases, the Weather Channel and NASA involvement, cartoons to indoctrinate children, Rockefellers, and Moon Santa types. We don't need to be scientists to follow along. Lots of photos and examples that we can comprehend. This has been going on longer than we thought and by multiple countries. Now let's find out why.

If you've watched the previous couple of NWO updates, this one has much more positive news. There's a bit of rambling, but most of our group will be encouraged by the progress that is being reported.

Today was the first time I've heard of this newfangled "fake snow" created by chemtrails. After watching the previous chemtrail video and this one, I'd like to ask our chemtrail-curious Bums to check their own snow. Could be interesting. Let's see what we find as a group.

297 scientists and experts agree GMOs not proven safe
*EU chief scientist Anne Glover’s backing for GM condemned as “irresponsible”
*Independent researchers work double shift to address “red flags” on GMO safety
Press release, European Network of Scientists for Social and Environmental Responsibility, 10 Dec 2013
The number of scientists and experts who have signed a joint statement[1] saying that GM foods have not been proven safe and that existing research raises concerns has climbed to 297 since the statement was released on 21 October.
Dr Angelika Hilbeck, chair of the European Network of Scientists for Social and Environmental Responsibility (ENSSER), which published the statement, said, “We’re surprised and pleased by the strong support for the statement. It seems to have tapped into a deep concern in the global scientific community that the name of science is being misused to make misleading claims about the safety of GM technology.”
The statement indirectly challenges claims by EU chief science adviser Anne Glover that there is no evidence that GM foods are any riskier than non-GM foods.[2]
Dr Rosa Binimelis Adell, board member of ENSSER, said, “It seems that Anne Glover chooses to listen to one side of the scientific community only – the circle of GMO producers and their allied scientists – and ignores the other. Thus she is giving biased advice to the EU Commission. For a science adviser, this is irresponsible and unethical.”
New signatories to the statement include Dr Sheldon Krimsky, professor of urban and environmental policy and planning at Tufts University and adjunct professor in the department of public health and family medicine at the Tufts School of Medicine. Dr Krimsky said:
“As a GMO crop skeptic, I have a more nuanced view of adverse consequences than uncritical proponents. Adverse consequences of GMO crops are not restricted to keeling over dead after eating genetically adulterated unlabelled food (GAUF). My concerns include subtle changes in nutritional quality or mycotoxins, increasing food allergens, unsustainable farming practices, dependency on chemical inputs, lack of transparency in evaluating food quality and safety, and the transformation of farming practices into a modern form of serfdom, where the seed is intellectual property leased by the farmer.
“To demonstrate the safety of GMO products, one must begin by assuming that they can be harmful, and carry out sensitive tests that are capable of detecting harm. As with other technologies like aeronautics and nuclear power, those who manufacture the products must not be the definitive source of safety data. Because rigorous safety testing has not happened with GMO crops, I remain skeptical.”
Another signatory, Dr Margarida Silva, biologist and professor at the Portuguese Catholic University, said, “Even if researchers did largely agree on GMO safety, that doesn't make them correct. To paraphrase Albert Einstein, it only takes one study to prove a whole theory wrong – no matter how many scientists believed in it.
“In addition, research has been mostly financed by the very companies that depend on positive outcomes for their business, and we now know that where money flows, influence grows. The few independent academics left must work double shift to address the vast array of unanswered questions and red flags that keep piling up.”
A third signatory, Dr Raul Montenegro, biologist at the University of Cordoba, Argentina, said:
"Usually, analysis of GMO safety fails to consider four main issues. One: GMO plants, seeds and byproducts contain not only residues of commercial chemical pesticides, but also insecticidal proteins produced by the plant, like the Bt toxin Cry1Ab. Two: each commercial pesticide contains a c*cktail of chemicals that undergo chemical changes within pesticide containers, when mixed with other pesticides, and when released in the environment. Three: In GMO agriculture each crop cycle begins with a higher background level of commercial pesticides and insecticidal proteins accumulated in agricultural soil, people’s homes and gardens, and exposed people. Four: GMO agriculture adds unwanted biodiversity (GMO genes) in countries having less and less natural biodiversity as a consequence of deforestation, pesticides, GMO insecticidal proteins and uncontrolled flux of engineered genomes.
“Countries as Argentina and Brazil are paradises for GMO agriculture because their governments have not established monitoring systems for disease and deaths from all causes, along with monitoring of the accumulation of residues of pesticides and GMO insecticidal proteins in exposed people and the environment, and variation of natural biodiversity indexes. If these monitoring systems were in place, it would be possible to measure the effects of GMO agriculture. As things stand, the governments of these countries deny that there is a problem even in the face of numerous reports from the people who are affected and the doctors who must treat them.”

White House Reportedly Considering Yet Another Obamacare Extension – and This One Could Be HUGE
WASHINGTON, DC – JANUARY 31: U.S. President Barack Obama speaks as Vice President Joseph Biden listens on January 31, 2014 in the East Room at the White House in Washington, DC (Getty Images)
WASHINGTON (TheBlaze/AP) — The White House is reportedly considering an extension for Americans who have had their health insurance policies cancelled under the Affordable Care Act.
Avalere Health CEO Dan Mendelson said Thursday that the administration may let policyholders keep their individual insurance policies for as long as an additional three years — even if they are not compliant with the health care overhaul
Mendelson stressed that no decision has been made.
If the White House moves forward with this extension, it would be a major reversal. The Obama administration and its allies initially dismissed complaints of cancelled policies by explaining that those policies were no good anyway.
Policymakers are waiting to see what rate hikes health insurers plan for the insurance exchanges that are key to the overhaul’s coverage expansions.
“The administration is entertaining a range of options to ensure that this individual market has stability to it, and that would be one thing that they could do,” he said.
Avalere Health is a consulting firm, but Mendelson said his company was not advising the administration on exchange policy. He said he has had informal discussions with administration officials about the extension, but he didn’t identify them.
Health and Human Services spokesman Joanne Peters confirmed that the issue is under discussion, saying: “We are continuing to examine all sorts of ways to provide consumers with more choices and to smooth the transition as we implement the law. No decisions have been made.”
Aetna Inc. Chairman and CEO Mark Bertolini also told analysts during a conference call Thursday to discuss quarterly earnings that he had heard the plans may be extended. Aetna is the nation’s third-largest health insurer and has about 135,000 paid customers so far through the exchanges.
Aetna Chief Financial Officer Shawn Guertin said in an interview after the call that there have been discussions about whether the plans should be extended again, but he didn’t have any more details.
Individual policyholders were hit with a wave of cancellation notices last year because their coverage was “less robust” than what is required under the law, and many states allowed insurance companies to simply cancel them
This became one of the most politically explosive issues in the transition to a new health insurance system under Obama’s law. The wave of cancellation notices — at least 4.7 million of them — hit just when the new healthcare.gov website was experiencing some of its worst technical problems, and it undercut the president’s well-publicized promise that if you liked your plan you could keep it.
The law included a scheme called “grandfathering” to try to deliver on Obama’s pledge. It was intended to shield policies in force at the time of the law’s 2010 enactment from many new requirements, provided the policies themselves changed little. But insurers considered it impractical. And many of the cancelled individual policies would not have been eligible for relief anyway, since they were purchased after the law’s passage.
The predicament of millions of Americans who had cancelled policies and a hard time getting new ones because of the dysfunctional government website put the administration in an even more uncomfortable position.
At first the White House went into damage-control mode, arguing that many of the cancelled plans were “junk” insurance and consumers would be better off with the broader coverage available through the health care law’s new insurance markets.
But soon Obama was forced to reverse course, urging insurers and state regulators to allow policyholders to keep their existing plans for an additional year. Most states complied with the request.
White House Reportedly Considering Yet Another Obamacare Extension – and This One Could Be HUGE
WASHINGTON, DC – NOVEMBER 15: U.S. President Barack Obama (R) speaks as Marilyn Tavenner (2nd R), administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and Senior Adviser of Health and Human Services Office of Health Reform Michael Hash (3rd R) listen during a meeting with CEOs from across the health insurance industry at the Roosevelt Room of the White House November 15, 2013 in Washington, DC (Getty Images)
Now the administration is considering adding more time to the extension to avoid another wave of problems if rates on the exchanges climb too high and people are left without affordable coverage. Health insurers are supposed to submit by May the rates they want to charge for coverage they sell on the exchanges next year.
The exchange coverage just started last month, so that doesn’t give insurers a lot of time to figure out what sort of claims will come from this new coverage. They need to understand this before they set premiums for the next year.
That means insurers may lean toward higher rate increases in 2015, to make sure they collect enough money in case medical claims come in higher than expected.
Mendelson said the administration understands this and is considering ways to promote rate stability. It could wind up extending the coverage for just another year or not all. “If you’re trying to craft policy, you have to see first what’s going to happen in this market before you can respond,” he said.
It’s unclear whether policyholders will find any relief if they are allowed to stay with their extended policies. Insurers in several states where extensions were allowed for 2014 have said they planned to hike the cost of those plans.
One last question: If there is an extension, why three years?
“Because by then Obama will be gone,” Zero Hedge suggests, “and Obamacare will be someone else’s problem.”

Rand Paul to Dems: Return Money Raised by Sexual Predator Bill Clinton
February 7, 2014 By Jennifer Burke
Bill Clinton and his women
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) is calling for any money raised on behalf of Democrats by former President Bill Clinton to be returned. In referencing the Democrat accusation that the GOP has waged a war on women, Paul points out the fact that Clinton has had a history of being, as he words it, a sexual predator. Therefore, he says the Democrats should return any campaign money raised to protest his abuse of power to receive feed his sexual desires while in the White House.
Steven Dinan of the Washington Times reports that Paul called Clinton for his behavior and the Democrats for condoning it during an interview to be aired Sunday on the C-SPAN program Newsmakers.
“They can’t have it both ways. And so I really think that anybody who wants to take money from Clinton or have a fundraiser has a lot of explaining to do. In fact, I think they should give the money back,” Mr. Paul, Kentucky Republican, said. “If they want to take position on women’s rights, by all means do. But you can’t do it and take it from a guy who was using his position of authority to take advantage of young women in the workplace.”
Mr. Paul recently called Mr. Clinton a “sexual predator” for his relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky.
The House voted to impeach Mr. Clinton in 1998, making him the second president in history to face such a dishonor. The Senate voted not to convict him.
Rand Paul cites not just the impeachment of Clinton regarding the lies that he told under oath in order to cover up his sexual relationship with then White House intern Monica Lewinsky, he also points to the $850,000 payment made to Paula Jones in 1999 by Clinton in order to settle her sexual harassment suit.
Paul has come under fire by some on the left for continuing to shed light on Clinton’s sexually predatory behavior. Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO) went on the attack against Paul stating that it is ‘infuriating’ that Paul would bring up something that is in the past against a president that the country did well under. She also does not believe that Bill Clinton’s behavior should in any way impact his wife’s, Hillary Clinton’s, aspirations to run for President in 2016.
While McCaskill is a known Hillary Clinton supporter for the next presidential race and wants to describe Bill Clinton’s sexual transgressions as something that ‘happened a long time ago’, back in 2006 she made clear that ‘she wouldn’t want Bill Clinton near her daughter’.

Hi everyone...haven't been here most of the week, but i see the bug-a-b00 bear has hit DH again. I just cought up with a few pages of posts...some greeat info as ususal...thanks. Just as a side note to this post below...anyone wanna take a bet that Leno gets audited within a year or so?
Was Jay Leno Canned by NBC For Criticizing Obama?
The first mainstream comedian to talk about Benghazi-gate is off the air, despite high ratings
The day after Jay Leno signed off on 22 years of hosting The Tonight Show, suspicions still abound as to why he was canned despite still being on top of the ratings. Could the fact that Leno was the first mainstream comedian to criticize Obama on sensitive issues such as Benghazi-gate have contributed to him being ejected by NBC?
Whereas virtually every late night comic has made superficial sideswipes at Obama in recent years, Leno took the unusual step of taking a conservative talking point, Benghazi-gate, and incorporating it into his Tonight Show monologue on two separate occasions.
The first example occurred back in October 2012, when Leno quipped, “Don’t ask – don’t tell” is back. Not the gays in the military. It’s President Obama’s new policy for questioning about Libya. Don’t ask – don’t tell. That’s the big story. The Republicans are accusing the White House of successfully engineering a massive cover-up of the Libyan attack. But on the plus side, it’s the first time in four years the Republicans have credit to Obama for doing anything successful.”
Leno returned to the subject two months later in December 2012, when he discussed a CBS News journalist becoming the first reporter, besides one from Fox News, to ask Obama who changed the talking points on Benghazi. Leno “joked” that should a journalist “suddenly start asking real questions,” this would be “very dangerous to the White House.”
It’s widely acknowledged that, unlike several other mainstream talk show hosts, Leno writes his own jokes. Four months after his second Benghazi-gate monologue, it was announced that Leno was being replaced by Jimmy Fallon.
In recent months, Leno has repeatedly ripped on Obama for the disastrous rollout of Obamacare, stating back in November that, “Obama’s better off smoking crack than passing Obamacare.”
Leno even signed off his final show by remarking, “And the worst thing about losing this job is I’m no longer covered by NBC. Now I’ll have to sign up for Obamacare.”
Last August, radio host Michael Savage played a montage of anti-Obama jokes told by Leno which included criticism of the administration being embroiled in numerous scandals including the AP wiretapping controversy, NSA spying, as well as Leno’s call to “close down the IRS.”
The relentless number of stinging anti-Obama jokes told by Leno both before and after the decision to replace him on the Tonight Show was announced obviously go above and beyond anything we’ve heard from the likes of Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Fallon or David Letterman.
Whether Leno was overcompensating in response to criticism that he had asked Obama softball questions when the president appeared on his show in 2011, or if he was genuinely using the huge platform of the Tonight Show to vent his disgust with the administration, it seems clear that the talk show host’s material became more hardcore anti-Obama the nearer it came to his exit from NBC.
NBC’s decision to replace Leno cannot be explained by falling ratings. Leno was still on top of the pile, and his ratings more recently were through the roof. According to the New York Times, Leno’s previous indication that he would continue hosting Tonight until he keeled over fed, “the lingering suspicion that Mr. Leno remained somewhat perturbed with NBC’s latest decision to replace him.”
Leno alluded to being stabbed in the back by NBC when he told a joke about a man with a knife in his back for three years: “He must’ve worked at NBC, too,” quipped Leno.
Could part of NBC’s reasoning for replacing Leno with Jimmy Fallon be explained by pressure from above? Was Leno becoming too harsh in his condemnation of an administration and a presidency that the network has steadfastly supported?
Did Comcast Corporation, which last year bought out General Electric’s 49% stake in NBC and donated over $300,000 dollars to Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign, have anything to do with Leno’s exit?
Whether there’s a connection or not, there will be a lot less incisive and witty condemnation of the Obama White House, particularly targeted at liberal audiences, now that Leno is off the air.

I just viewed the video the fall of America. One thing it discussed was the welfare state. Here's what came to mind. Since government is out of control and they are doing the opposite that we wish them to, we might take back control in another way. As long as they are giving away socialist welfare and gov't manufactured disability payments to destroy our workforce and economy, we need to cut them off.
What would happen if we all stopped paying taxes? They only waste it anyway! None of it is used to run the country. We see them spraying and feeding us poisons. Multitudes of policing agencies are not to protect us but control us. None of the government agencies are for our benefit anymore, as if they ever were.
The welfare explosion has been proven to have the purpose to destroy our economy. So what if we stopped funding it? What would happen? Money would stop coming from us. The corporations would need to take up the slack. They won't stand for it for long, it's just business! When the welfare recipients don't get a check, they will work.
The up-side of NOT paying taxes is that Americans will have more cash in their pocket. Cash that previously was stolen, then wasted by gov't. Americans are NOT likely to save this new found cash, but spend it. Whether prudently or irresponsibly, it doesn't matter, it's all good. Any dollar that gets spent is going to merchants and business that WE choose to find valuable. It doesn't get filtered to welfare, NSA, IRS, EPA, HHS, DOE, government contractors, or the salary of Congress. In effect Capitalism starts all over at the citizen level, like it was always designed to do.
What happens when there is an explosion of people looking for work? One thing is that the "value" of wages goes down. That is not a bad thing. Their wages and ours will take a hit. But so should the cost of doing business. Consumer prices are likely to fall for everyone. Any company that chooses to keep or raise prices will loose customers to those that re-evaluate the price structure according to true costs. As the costs of laber plumment, entreprunuers can now afford to hire employees. More new businesses, more employment. It will continue until everyone has a job and our economy equalizes. Keep in mind, these new businesses are also likely to remove themselves from the burden of government regulation, overtaxation, and government theft and pilfering, just as individuals have.
Why does it cost so much to survive in business? Why can't America compete against low-wage imported products? Because government has raised the ante just for the privlege. Labor is labor, anywhere in the World. Why does ours cost so much? Legislation, regulations, taxes, and our out of control Judicial system and liability insurance.
Anyone can start a business. It is mostly taxes and regulations that makes it NOT happen. Kids can't even sell lemonade for pocket change anymore. This could all be reversed, and we don't even need to vote. We vote with our dollars. It's a "No Confidence Vote" on our criminal representatives and the agencies they've created and corrupted.
We don't need minimum wage increses to survive. We need a reasonable cost of living instead. "It's not what you make that enables one to get ahead, it's what you keep".
As we go forward, we get to choose to shop at the little private shop in town or the Wall Street conglomerate. If the little shop has less government expenses, they have more to offer us than the powerful international mega-stores. Big industry will need to compete and come down to our level to stay in business. Doesn't matter how big one is, the common denominator is the consumer's dollar in the end.
How about barter and trade? Spends just as well as fiat money. As long as both parties get what they need in a fair exchange, what's the problem? No paperwork, just a handshake. Do business with those we trust. The gov't can't trace what they can't find paperwork on, especially if we stop supplying them with receipts of transactions and legal documents.
To go forward, we need to go backwards and undo the corruption we've created. Yes, WE created it. We allowed Congress and their monster agencies to go unchecked for far too long. It's time to take back control of OUR responsibilities. OUR government!
Government Authority. What authority does government have? What is authority? Authority is a "concept". It's a trust or respect of another. No one has authority, we "give" authority. As long as government is not honoring their "given" authority, we don't need to extend it to them anymore. We haven't been able to control them lately. We can't overpower them. So, why can't we just ignore them? The authority is gone!
The first part of healing is to admit we have a problem. Like curing any dangerous addiction, we need to take that first step. The first step is always the hardest. That initial small success will give us hope and encouragement that we can make it. The rest is easy!

One of Jon Stewart’s favorite lines when someone asks him if he should be more responsible in his representation of news stories and politics is to snidely and smugly retort that they do comedy, not news.
One guest, Libertarian economist Peter Schiff, was so angry at how how his hours-long interview was deceptively edited to make him look bad that he explained at length just how they did it, and how they treat liberals differently:
“They’re just looking for words they can put together like a Frankenstein’s monster,” Peter Schiff, finance expert and recent guest of The Daily Show, told Mediaite. “They wanted to put my words together to create a monster that everyone would hate.”
Now at this point you might be saying, well of course they do, they’re the Daily Show! But it’s instructive to point out exactly how they do this, and why it works.
…Schiff agreed to sit down for an interview to serve as the opposing view in a debate about increasing the minimum wage. He knew he could be walking into a trap, as he revealed, “but you remain optimistic that maybe it’s not.”
And Schiff had reason to be optimistic. A lengthy email he released on Tuesday shows that a The Daily Show producer offered repeated assurances that he would not be taken out of context. “We NEVER edit out of context,” the staffer wrote. “Meaning we never ever show responses to a question we never asked.”
“[R]est assured,” the producer repeated. “NOTHING will be edited out of context.”
Schiff has since released this email, in order to show the dishonesty of the producer.
But that is exactly what happened, Schiff said. He called the final product a “hit job.”
…Schiff revealed that he sat down with correspondent Samantha Bee for four hours, in which he described at length the political origins of the minimum wage and the adverse effect it has had on youth unemployment and productivity. He says that it was more than three hours into the interview when they finally prompted Schiff to offer the segment’s infamous soundbite.
According to Schiff, Bee randomly picked the $2-per-hour wage, and asked just what kind of people would work for that minuscule sum. The financial commentator said there were two types of people who would work for that figure. His first example — a response which was edited out of the package that aired on The Daily Show — were unpaid interns. Interns like the reassuring Daily Show staffer who had revealed to Schiff their prior role before transitioning into a paying job with Comedy Central.
Schiff says he told the reporter and producers that he was certain the unpaid interns they currently have working on staff would rather be working for $2 than $0, and they may not have been forced to take out tens of thousands in student loans in order to legally qualify for an internship program compensated with college credit.
The second group, Schiff said only after a painfully long pause, pleading with Bee for the “politically correct” term, but landing on: “The mentally retarded.” Of course, this response made it into the final package and has resulted in threats to Schiff and his family as a result.
“The only word choice that I can regret is actually saying ‘mentally retarded,’” Schiff told Mediaite. “But I only said it because I couldn’t think of the proper word.” However, Schiff does not regret the comment – the mentally disabled are already legally exempt from minimum wage laws. How does Schiff know this? Beyond his expertise on the issue, Schiff revealed to Mediaite that his wife’s 65-year-old aunt suffers from Down syndrome.
None of the first example that Schiff made of interns was included in the broadcast, and they never mentioned his own experience with having a relative suffering with the condition. Here’s the reaction to the deceptively edited clip:
schiff-retardedschiff-retarded-1
Think these poor deluded souls were given an honest portrayal of Peter Schiff’s economic view?
You might then think that they do this to all their guests, right? Wrong. Schiff cites a blog from an economist on the other side of the political divide, who was also a guest on the Daily Show and was given all the latitude he needed to present his view as clearly as possible:
The equities analyst revealed on his blog that he was afforded the opportunity by Bee and producers to do multiple takes in order to perfect what he was trying to say.
“All of the answers were recorded following each question in one continuous segment,” Ritholtz wrote. “When I screwed up or ruined a shot, they had to go back to ask the question again, with the response immediately following in the same shot.”
“In other words, they don’t cut up your answers or pull them out of context,” he continued. “Question, Answer, Question, Answer. I assume this keeps litigation from angry remote guests to a minimum.”
If you think this doesn’t make a difference, you’re wrong - polling shows that 21% of Americans aged 18-29 cited the Daily Show or even worse, Saturday Night Live, as their main source for news. This is nearly the same rate as those who said they get their news from mainstream newscasts – 23%.
Schiff’s experience was so bad that this is his only advice to other libertarian or conservatives on appearing on the Daily Show: don’t.
“I would say to people of a libertarian conservative position on an issue, do not do a taped interview,” Schiff added. “You’re going to come out looking really bad. No matter what you say, no matter how eloquently you answer a question, your answer is not going to be what you said.”

Apparently some folks are in a snit because Shnapir was wearing a gun holster for the couple’s performance at the Sochi Games on Saturday.
Their theme music was from the the James Bond flick “Skyfall,” which likely had something to do with his choice of attire.
Some viewers thought the holster was a nifty move
