I like the S10. I had a 95 blazer. They have their share of problems but they're well documented and easily fixable.

The pre-OBDII blazers and S-10 with the throttle body FI were pretty cool. I don't like the front axle actuator set up though, 1940's tech.

As a vacuum operated front axle, its unreliable. But it can be easily converted to a manual system using a pull cable. The front axle engagement remains the same though, and I think everyone can agree anything less than a solid axle with manual locking hubs is undesirable.

the actuator rod extending from the ignition switch goes down the steering column to a switch/relay unit If I remember correctly is about where the column meets the bottom of the dash....could be that item needs to be replaced...I had a 88 S-10 that had a similar problem.

two 8mm bolts to adjust.
The problem turned out to be the driver. Read the whole thread, it is amusing.

I can personally attest to this haha, drove one for about 8 years and it was always nothing but one problem after another. Did its job and got me around, I'll grant. I was going to pop in here and suggest a new starter, that was my first issue with mine. Noticed a few months after I bought it if I'd let it sit for even just one day without starting it up and driving it, the engine would turn and turn but it just wouldn't catch and start up. New starter fixed it for me. But that wasn't his issue here, I guess.
Mine's currently just sitting in the driveway now. Gonna need an engine rebuild soon, sounds like a damn harley when it first starts up until it warms up and the engine quits knocking around so much. And I'm not dumping that kind of money into it. I went out and bought a Mustang GT, which is what I should have done in the first place lol. Just gonna part the truck out, or sell it to someone for cheap who doesn't mind constantly working on the b*tch because it's gonna need engine work soon, it's time to replace tie rods, and figure out why the hell that red brake light is on that's preventing me from getting it to pass this state's safety and let me register it. I'm just done rocking a money pit lol. I'd rather make my payments on something newer that isn't going to have so much issues yet so long as I keep it properly maintained, and plus I'd always regretted not going out and buying another mustang.

Gee sorry to hear that. Need more info to even guess if it's the door open or closed, the clutch switch misaligned, neutral safety switch, solenoid open, starter jammed in reverse or if it's the dome light strobing when you put the key in.
could the alarm system be interfering? disconnect the alarm. Move some of the wiring around and see if it attempts to turnover. Idk I have a wire in my Nissan Stanza that is taped with electrical tape and I have to move it to get it to start. I need an electrical shop that won't cost $330 or more.
