I was talking to a friend today and she said that she thinks I intimidate guys, because I'm so head strong and independent. She said that she thinks they see me as the person that works full time, goes to school full time and takes care of her children full time and they think that I am intimidating. I'm not sure though. I just know that's who I am.

If you lower your standard and values you wouldn't be the person you are, nor would you be satisfied with yourself. There are those who appreciate strength, someone with their head screwed on tight, and deep values.
Looks like perhaps you may be intimidating because you strive to go forward for a life that is full of good things for yourself and your family. Thumbs up to you and just to clue you in there are those regardless of age or sex that are intimidated by a strong and go getter person.
Heard many years ago that it's better for a woman to look ahead for a guy at least 5 years older because of maturity. But...time to give the guys credit as well. At the age common to yours the guys are just settling in and realizing responsibilities of being an adult.
What you or anyone else doesn't need is someone who weighs you down like a ball and chain and keeps you from moving forward to your goals.
Better to want something you don't have, than have something you don't want.

I definitely agree. I have only dated one guy younger than me and the rest have been older. Neither worked out. I just strive to be someone that other people look up to and someone that has accomplished things in life and not just sat back and let life pass them by. It just seems hard to find someone that understands that.

It just seems hard to find someone that understands that.
Just do it for yourself and if anyone looks up to you, it should be your children. Others can respect you for your accomplishments but if realizing they are looking up to you then they feel under acheivers.

Yup. $35 for nice fresh GA peanuts. Last year went thru 2 boxes There is always a big bowl of nuts and a shell bag on the kitchen island. Especially at foodie events like the one you didn't come to.

Anyone ever eat Edamama? This is served as an appetizer in FL. Cook in brine water, cover with lime juice and sea salt. Eat.
This is a soybean in the pod. Very tasty and total protein.
