My current project is an 80s baby hammer (Merc). When finished (about end of year) I'll upgrade to either an AMG C36 or a Porsche 928S4, at resale value plus a couple of grand. Pretty good considering I started off with only a grand outlay and you don't really notice week-week spending doing a car up, so it's like I saved money whilst spending it. Some of you are going to be in a way higher budget range than me, with much more variety in good class to choose from, in all sorts of badges. That's all fair enough. I'm pretty damn happy with how good a cheap Merc is though, unbelievable value and build quality even when dirt cheap. Doesn't cost me a bundle to do up a Merc. I've no idea what right-wingers are crapping on about every time they reckon "oh no Euro cars are too expensive to service". Bullshit. They cost no different to a Ford, cheaper sometimes.
