Sorry to burst you bubble but photography isn't an art form art is something you create out of nothing the only artistic thing about the camera is the person who created it so if you're a photographer you're not an artist you're just someone who was at the right place at the right time to press a button

Bull shit ... its an art form to take the right shot different angles etc ...so don't act like a photographer is not an artist in their own way

You poor lost girl photography IS NOT a art form and I don't care about the so called technics that is used to get "the perfect shot" in the end you still press a button anybody could do that as long as they are not paralized an artist creates something beautiful out of nothing! like a song, or a painting, a poem, the photographer did not create the subject of his or her shot it was there already taking pictures is not art if it is then we all are artist even pre-schoolers get real I don't care who the photographer is he or she ARE NOT ARTIST!!!!!!

Well I am an artist but I'm just now trying my hand at photography. I think it's a lot harder than people realize. I started doing photography so I would have shots to look at and paint or draw. I have way more bad shots than good shots. But it's led me down a path of exploring old towns and structures that are abandoned or dilapidated. I've went all over the place the last few months. I like to know the story behind them if I can. Here is one mansion I went in that was from the United States first Prima Ballerina. Her name was Maria Tall Chief. What she did was an art form all of it's own. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twJOnBrLQgU&feature=youtube_gdata_player

I agree people don't realize what is involved in a spectacular photo.
lighting by itself is complex, and shutter speed and depth of field knowing how to coordinate all the different elements to make a great photograph requires artistry.
