Beware Widows:

There is a scammer that contacted me, he is of Hispanic Origin. A Handsome man age 66, says he lives in Va. Beach, Va. ( Due to DH rules I can't tell you his name ) He is five years my junior, he comes across very pleasant, says his wife died 10 yrs ago, now that his son's are out of the nest and on their on he wants to meet a nice lady. He told me to send a photo to yahoo since I don't have a picture on my profile. He told me his name and sent a lengthy email then wanted to know more about me. The next time I heard from him he gave a different name and another lengthy e-mail. My reply was, you first told me you name was such and such - now you tell me your name is such and such, WHO are you really? Received another e-mail explaining a friend of his used his computer and forgot to log off. Friend was pretending to be first person that contacted me.

You can tell a scammer by the way they phrase things, ie: like I will like to know more of you. etc etc. Ladies be careful as he is a real charmer. I google both names and nothing came close. He is into information Technology, just be careful, He mentions Leigh Ann Womack song - " Dance " Be Safe.

The first red flag for me is ESL. They will have a sad story about health issues and need money. I ask if they are US citizen. They disappear after that.

Sad to say there are people , even family, that will come around dripping honey until they think the money is run out. Or that you will not give them info so they can do and identity theft. Be careful what you tell people and do not give anyone you have not researched/met in person access to your Facebook "family" page or your home number. Cyber thieves know how to find out more about you than you can remember about yourself. .

Greetings.everyone. I hope that you're coexisting with self and others beyond your.loved ones death. To the young lady who experienced this I hope he apologizes one day. Men cannot continue going through life being feared. We have wonderful qualities we can share with the woman who will receive us. I think its said the boys and girls become adults who fear each other. To tell the truth, it's painful watching men and women demonstrate such larceny in their hearts. This datehookup not tit4tat.com or "I can hate you more today than ever." We all lost someone we loved. If we are to progress because we still have a desire to be with someone then let's do it. There will always be a joker it two around. Let's get over it or die.with it on our minds. Our deceased mates want is to move on. To close, don't let one's actions dictate our outcome. Have fun and continue to be supportive on DH.!

I've gotten several emails from several "men" most saying the same thing, a couple even exactly the same thing.

My red flags are, not "normal" English.. Example...

"I wish to read from you"
"I will like to learn you more better"
And many more.... I mean born and raised in USA, you've learned that, that's not typical English...

Also, phone calls. If we cannot talk on the phone, and only during certain times... Yeah... And I'm sure widowers are scammed just as often as widows.

I found out the hard way, in some states...it is NOT illegal to pretend to be someone else. Have a fake Facebook and blogs. Taking pictures from other peoples Facebooks and creating a whole persona. If we don't stick together and watch out for one another, who will?

If I'm scammed I'll post all I can about the fake. It makes it so hard to find someone and trust they are real.

Scammers are definitely my number one concern when it comes to date sights. I have spoke to many men on here, haven't met one yet because I have found with several men already, many discrepancies, some say typos, some get angry when questioned. I have found many profiles, all with different pictures that read the same, word for word!

My scammer wanted me to send him $400 to his sister so she could send it to him via Western Union so he could visit me. Now he's in the Army in Syria and he didn't have a valid driver's license. I got a kick playing along with him while he kept professing that he would "like to learn" me more better. His English was terrible.

95 percent of my inbox is full of scammers, one recently with broken English wanted to get to know me better, yet the only way he could talk is yahoo, I told him I would give my yahoo name as soon as I ask my husband, hmmm never heard from him again.

but sad thing is, when one stops, many more follow their lead, sad.

This site has become absolutely LOADED with them! I'm very disappointed since I met my late husband on this site after we had each lost our spouses back in 2009. I have all but stopped even checking here for any matches because they are all shady. When a guy claims to be "Native American" and he is fair skinned and red headed, something isn't right. Their English is a bit off most of the time as well. Just don't ever send anyone money or meet other than in a very public place! So sad.

He already tried that with me.

He claims to be a General from New York or sometimes, Boston Mass.

He puts himself out to be Gen Joseph f. Dunford Jr.

Beware: it is on Google how long he has been a scammer on date sites.

Why why why would anyone give a total stranger any money? The minute they ask for money then it's over.

Pigbusters.net is also a good site to check if someone is a scammer. You do need their email address on a lot of the site to check them. Be careful and never send anyone online money for any reason. Remember if they ask for money they are a scammer!!!

Many if not most that say they are Native American are confused and think it means they were born in America I spend a lot of time in Alaska, and most that call themselves Native American there are Russians that were there when we bought it, but it is crazy the rights they have there now

I have also had men contact me that I believe are scammers. One way you can tell if they are a scammer is to ask questions and send a fairly long post back with some made up info about your life. Put things in the post that most people if they are interested or have any kind of truth to them will respond back and talk about what you have sent to them. If they respond back and mention nothing about what you wrote and avoided any questions you may have asked than you will know your message wasn't read and they are a scam. I had played along with someone one time and asked all kinds of questions and told them a little about myself and after about 4 post mentioning the fact that they was not responding to anything I had to say they deleted their profile. One guy mentioned what he did for a living and the company, something about his post made me suspicious so I looked up the company and the company is legit but in the google search it came up with men that was scammers and even had the post that they were sending to lure people in with. It was identical to what I had received with only a few things changed. I am pretty alert to how scammers write things and if I suspect I block them. Be careful out there ladies and men also cause I am sure women are scamming also.

Just got a new one named Jeff. Right away he wanted my yahoo account or for me to contact him on his. Most spoofers use yahoo. Dont give out any personal info or contact anyone you dont know.He was another from Virginia, seem to have a lot of them there. They prey on widows and widowers.
