No. Not that hard to find. Hard to keep running. Screaming pile of rotary horseshit.

Rare are cobras. With a production run of 10k a year combined between coupe and convertible.and only between 93 and 04 at that. And since only 250 were made in 2000 thats only 110k approximately. Over 193k rx8s were done.

The RX8 is a great driver's car. It is a lot of fun on windy back roads.
The lack of torque make it a little rough to DD since you really have to wind the engine out to go anywhere and unless momentum is on your side hills can be a pain.

Eh they were ok around here. Biggest issue. Maintenance. Too many people wouldnt take care of them and we were swapping engines at 60k miles.

It's amazing how many people will buy a Rotary powered car without taking the time to learn good upkeep practices.

Some dude in an 8 tried to juice me on a highway on ramp the other day. From the sound of it, he was at about 12 grand before he made enough power to pass me...in my Durango...at 3000 rpms...loaded with tools...and completely unaware that we were in a race.

238 hp is all they were rated to pump out. My best friend had one. And is looking again. I liked the ride. But shit for acceleration.

I was working at a local Mazda dealership when they were the flagship of the fleet. When I finally got to drive a demo around the open roads I was literally astonished how gutless it was compared to some old street rotaries I've been in, an R100 with a 12B/extended port, an RX3 with a 13B, the last of the RX7 with the injected 13B and turbo version, but this thing felt like it weighed a ton and was powered by a 1.8 litre four.
So I revved it and revved it, expecting all the power to be up top end. Well it spins high enough, and doesn't lose any power spinning up, but there was no gain, it doesn't seem to go any faster by revving the ring out of it, it's just an option not to change gears if you don't want to.
Basically the Mazda 3 SP23 that was current at the time felt much quicker and sportier.
And the MPS 6 and 3 seemed much more serious-sporty. The RX8 seemed to be a novelty past its use-by date to me, a luxury badge or gimmick attempt with no sport to it at all. Like one of those MX5 things, wow it's a convertible, wow a '68 VW beetle is blowing my doors off...
