dixie_dancer Kansas City, KS 29, joined Feb. 2013	I travel "prepared" I'm on the road for work. I have a change of clothes, a sleeping bag, trail mix and water, as well as a few other essentials. I could "camp" with what I have, but it would be Spartan.

albyak Ninilchik, AK 68, joined Apr. 2011	Have three waterproof bags in my canoe in Alaska when I venture out; everything from water purifiers to Downey fabric softener sheets (bears do not like the smell) and a three and 1/2 inch magnum shotgun just in case the softeners do not work!

Up around Luna New Mexico during primitive rifle season. No more tent camping for me unless I have too to otherwise survive.

We have several grizzles around this part of the country so we have to be extra careful.There are a lot of black bears around here too but they are usually not a problem unless they have cubs near by. I always carry when ever I go camping or into the forest.I designed a chest holster rig that puts the gun right in the middle of the chest.It is very easy access and doesn't get in the way of anything.It's been my top seller for the ATV guys and back packers.
