There is no KIT. Depends on where I'm going and what I'm doing.

I travel "prepared" I'm on the road for work. I have a change of clothes, a sleeping bag, trail mix and water, as well as a few other essentials. I could "camp" with what I have, but it would be Spartan.

Have three waterproof bags in my canoe in Alaska when I venture out; everything from water purifiers to Downey fabric softener sheets (bears do not like the smell) and a three and 1/2 inch magnum shotgun just in case the softeners do not work!

I have one of the Montana Jacks hard side cargo boxes. It has a ton of room and seconds as a back rest. Heck that's not even the complete list but keep in mind that I keep the portions as small as possible. I like to go cross country and campout sometimes for three or more days between Hwy 200 and US hwy 2 in NW Montana. Lots of logging roads and lots of creeks, fishing and small game. A good simi auto is a must because this is the home of grizzly bear, black bear and cougars. ATV camping just cant be beat.

tileman1814....Any problems with bears where you camp?

I had one saunter into my camp one morning at about 0100 so big it looked like a black angus bull. Up around Luna New Mexico during primitive rifle season. No more tent camping for me unless I have too to otherwise survive.

We have several grizzles around this part of the country so we have to be extra careful. There are a lot of black bears around here too but they are usually not a problem unless they have cubs near by. I always carry when ever I go camping or into the forest.I designed a chest holster rig that puts the gun right in the middle of the chest. It is very easy access and doesn't get in the way of anything. It's been my top seller for the ATV guys and back packers.
