 | Thank the good LORD for mild Winters. Although I have both wood burning stove and propane heater, I rely mostly on a well placed chunk of alder, if I need to turn up my thermostat. It's a few miles down the hill to town for costly propane, and I am the delivery truck driver.

And at night, we all hunker together.

 | I cook with cast iron on my wood burner, nothing as nice as the cook stove up there^^
It was a "three dog night" here in Ohio last night...the very reason I have 3 dogs...

 | I'm down to two dogs and they stay outside... No cat now either...
Was thinking about finding a kitten though...

The kids and I have cooked on top of our wood stove too!
But I really do miss having a stove like the one above.
I used the water jacket to heat hot water...
Talk about baking the perfect baked potatoes and breads...

It was so cold i froze my sweet bippy off...

I found a bippy on the sidewalk thursday and popped it into the fireplace for added heat.

I don't remember much after that other than there was a loud 'pppppppppppptttttt' sound
and the room erupted in blue flames.

The doc's say most of my hair will grow back and the bandages come off in a month.

 | When the sun is shinning brightly as it is this morning, I open the curtains in the picture window and let the sun heat the living room.
I do turn the heat down two degrees when the sun is out.

Right now it is 66 in the house.

 | It's 1 degree here and with the north wind it feels like -14. I turned the heat up to 65 for the cat. When the cars go down the street they make a crunching noise. The sidewalks aren't plowed so when people use it they have to step high, like they are marching, lol.

 | I hate when the furnace kicks on and I am sleeping, as it wakes me up every time. I should wear ear plugs to bed.
