I'm not really a very big sweet eater since I started my diet and work out program , but one of weaknesses use to be snickerdoodle cookies! At Christmas I might sneak a piece or 2 of peppermint bark though! Do you have any recipes for that?

My daughterinlaw forwarded me this recipe. I'm not a big fudge eater anymore but she says it's actually pretty good.

MICROWAVE FUDGE

Ingredients

1 lb powdered sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions

Sift powdered sugar, cocoa, and salt into a 1 quart microwave safe bowl.
Stir in milk and vanilla.
Mix well.
Place butter on top.
Microwave on high, 2 minutes.
Beat with wooden spoon until smooth.
Stir in nuts (OPTIONAL).
Spread in 8 X 8 X 2 inch baking pan.
Chill about 1 hour or until firm.
Cut into pieces.

OP, I can't read your posts without getting a headache. Do you not know how to use punctuation within sentences or at least to break them up within the paragraphs?

No need to be rude Lookin. It's not a crime to be "grammarly challenged," (No offense Holly .) We can't all be scholars; some just write better than others.
The Women's World forums should be a safe place for us to come to and feel free to contribute without fear of the hateful attacks and snide remarks a lot of the other threads are known for. If you have nothing positive to contribute, you're certainly free to move on.
While I've grown to expect rudeness from a few of the contributors here; the majority of us are really nice gals Holly, so don't let the untoward remarks of a few rude people keep you from posting.

I tried making some hard candy once and it didn't turn out very well. My kids were certainly entertained listening to Mom's colorful words cleaning up the mess , but the candy wasn't fit to eat!

Just for kicks

Best Fruit Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
4 large eggs
2 cups candied fruit
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup brown sugar
lemon juice
nuts
1 bottle whiskey (sample the whiskey to check for quality)

Directions:

1. Take a large bowl. Check the whiskey again - to be sure it is the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Repeat.
2. Turn on the electric mixer, beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
3. Add one teaspoon of sugar and beat again.
4. Make sure the whiskey is still okay. Cry another tup.
5. Turn off the mixer.
6. Break two leggs and add to the bowl and chuck in the cup of candied fruit.

8. Sample the whiskey to check for tonsisticity.
9. Next, sift two cups of salt. Or something. Who cares?
10. Check the whiskey.
11. Now sift the lemon juice and strain your nuts.
12. Add one table. Spoon. Of sugar or something. Whatever you can find.
13. Grease the oven.
14. Turn the cake tin to 350 degrees. Don't forget to beat off the turner.
15. Throw the bowl out of the window, check the whiskey again and go to bed.

I use to make a lot of this during the holidays when my kiddos were growing up:

Queso

1 block (32 Oz. Block) Velveeta Cheese
1 package (8 Oz. Package) Cream Cheese
1 can (10 Oz. Can) Rotel
1 can (10.75 Oz. Can) Cream Of Mushroom Soup
1 pound Ground Beef OR Sausage (or A Combination Of Both)

Brown ground beef or sausage (or both) in a pan over medium heat and set aside. Cut up the Velveeta and cream cheese into cubes and place into a crock pot. Pour in the Rotel and the cream of mushroom soup and stir ingredients together. Place the crock pot on low setting for an hour, letting the ingredients meld. After about 30 minutes, add the browned meat and continue to let cook, stirring as needed.

I never have and not sure how it will taste, but probably wouldn't hurt to try.

To tell you the truth, you really don't taste the mushrooms at all Holly. My ex-husband hated mushrooms but loved this dip. I had to make several bowls when he had his Superbowl parties and never had any left over. Not really sure how cream of chicken soup would taste though.

I love to cook but once learning a new recipe I often create my own version. But I only bake occasionally.
