I dont use them and would not recommend it, because they can sometimes, cause you to lose your natural eyelashes, which you need because they help protect your eyes from foreign particles.

Holly do you honestly think they would sell false eyelashes,and have instructions to pluck your own eyelashes out? If all else fails read instruction on package.This may be a avenue not for you to try.Accept what God gave you,and be happy.

^^^^^^
Funny, but I agree 100%!

I bought fake eyelashes, but haven't tried to use them. Scared they'd fall off into my food or drink. (wink)
But when I was looking another woman shopping was giving me advice.

So Holly, my advice is to go to a cosmetics counter & ask someone that does makeup professionally. Yesterday I went with a friend to have her makeup & hair done. She looked gorgeous! It was at a hair salon that also does makeup. Now this is in a town of about 500 people. I'm sure there's someone near you that could help or even do it for you!

Good luck!

Holly no cosmetic eye item would tell you to pluck eyelashes out.May I suggest reading glasses,and glue eyelashes to the lens of the readers.Much safer for you.Heck glue extra set on glasses for bottom lashes too.

Post a new pic when you get that done,At least I'd know your eyes were safe and you have the beauty of fakes.

Holly, here's a link with step by step instructions on how to apply false eyelashes (with pictures). It looks fairly easy and no, you don't have to pluck your real eyelashes out.

No need to pluck (lol) your real ones to use the fakes

If you need longer lashes...and I say "need" because short eyelashes don't protect your eyes as well as long ones do...you can consult your ophthalmologist (eye doctor); he/she can prescribe some medicine (I don't remember the name).

Ironically, I just began buying them..I'm having a hard time getting them on even on both sides..I decided to try false lashes because I'm sick of mascara..I used to buy a washable water proof type that I loved..I cant find it anywhere..the waterproof type nearly takes using pliers to remove and the regular mascara smudges giving me black eyes..so sick of the mess and hassle..I have bought several lashes and wear them daily but I still need practice..lol..

@Ladiebugg
Try L'Oreal waterproof. Remove with a drop of baby oil on a tissue. Just lightly rub oiled tissue over AND under your lashes.
I used a different "waterproof" once. Went skiing. Eyelashes froze. As they thawed my "clown makeup" started to appear.....

@Holly
I'd like to see a picture after you conquer those lashes! I haven't tried mine yet.
However I do know this works for my eyelashes. I asked my doc about my hair getting thinner. She said to take Pre-natal vitamins. Well, I don't know how much they helped my hair but my eyelashes got thicker & a lot longer! (they're only a few dollars at the dollar store)
Good luck!

I've only worn those once for a wedding (was a bridesmaid), but nothing dramatic...

I'm guessing most woman like trying new cosmetics.Your best investment is being happy with a great smile.You can wake up to that daily.Invest in yourself with positive outlooks in life,will always make you glow naturally.

Just think about what you save,that was never broke or flawed."Food for thought"

I wore them a few times. Loved the look , after removing them, hated the end result. They pulled out many of my real lashes and also made my eyelids look swollen.Looked awful. I grew my own lashes back, healthier and longer using a serum , SmartLash sold at Dermstore.com. Now ppl compliment me on my real lashes. Some even ask if my real lashes are fake. If you decide to start wearing fake lashes, consider wearing them only a few times a year on special occasions

Why the fuq would anyone tell you to pluck all your real lashes out. And who would seriously believe it?! There is a special holder for false lashes. Looks like mini tongs with a moon shape (curve to your eyelid. If you have flatter eyelids, you can get away with using a whole solid strip. If your eyelids curve more you might try cutting them into two pieces. That'll prevent the ends from lifting and being uncomfortable. I've worn them occasionally, each time with success.

I wear them all the time. They're not hard to put on, and the come right off with a little eye make up remover. They make me look a little glamorous.

I've worn them a few times on special occasions, along with mascara (to blend them in). They're quite simple to put on and remove. And no, you don't have to pluck out your eyelashes. Whoever told you that was mistaken.
