Okay, I know this movie is a couple years old, but I just bought the Butler with Forest Whitaker and Oprah Winfrey and honestly gotta say kinda looking forward to watching with it. I heard it was a true story, that the president got word of this black African American butler and invited him to the white house. Not to sure why it was so ground breaking my guess would be maybe the time it took place there was still issues among the black and whites. I myself have always been a fan of how figures and stories like such changed a lot for today's world that some people take for granted.

They don't think how these people paved the way for these people in today's world to live the way they do and to have a better life.

Great thread topic!
I will definitely be chiming in on this one.
just for a start since I am about to get to sleep I will just throw one out there off the top of my head.
I saw The Giver at the movie theatre and have it on Blu-Ray but haven't gotten to watch it at home yet.

I thought it was a pretty good movie.
Maybe not so totally awesome but I thought they did a good job with capturing the spirit of the book which I have read.
they changed a fair bit from the book but it really worked.
Looking forward to seeing them tackle the other Lois Lowery books set in the same world as The Giver.

I just watched over the last couple of days the last Die Hard movie and The Crow Wicked Prayer.

Enjoyed them both, but will say even though I did sort of enjoyed this Crow movie nothing is like the first one and wanted to say "Yippie Ki Yah MotherF*er" ever time I saw Bruce Willis blow up or tear up something!

I will admit I tend to enjoy the occasional spy movie! As some of may have noticed I was very very young in the beginnings of Cold War in the 60s so I got to enjoy a number of 007 and Mission Impossible stye movies through my years. After a long awaited time I finally got to see tonight and really enjoyed the movie called:

"Kingsman: The Secret Service"

“‘Manners maketh man,’ do you know what that means?”

Was a phrase used in the movie that had a strong meaning of how the movie was going to go! Personally I think was a kickin spy movie! It was sort of like Emimem meets 007 and the main character gets to becomes one of the secret good guys!

Samuel L. Jackson (Valentine) plays the bad guy with Sofia Boutella (Gazelle) as his evil killer side kick. Taron Egerton (Gary “Eggsy” Unwin) is the young boy that is introduced to the Kingsman Secret Service by Colin Firth (Harry Hart) as his personally selected "Kingsman Material" hopeful. There was of course plenty of 007 type "Q Section" like gadgets, lots of action, with the occasional humor, kick butt scenes, and a twisted plot to follow! If any of you enjoy spy movies I suggest you go seeing it on the big screen while it is showing!

I've watched a lot of Movies like that! Heck even in Fight Club if you watch it a few times you will see stuff happening you missed and do a:

"Woo woo wait a minute, let me rewind that a second and see if I just saw what I think I just saw!"

I love Movies like that! I enjoy finding the stuff the writer or Director tossed in there to see if you would notice it!

I like movies that you have to use your brain cells to figure out some of it!
What would you call it genre wise?

Smh on that answer!

Yeah is seemed to be more about the movie hype by what I have been hearing and the book was much better!

Although I didn't go to the Movie Theatre at the beginning of this month like I like to do I have been watching some things that are already available on Netflix so I will be putting up some reviews on some of the ones I have watched recently.

I did watch World War Z tonight. For those of you that have an interest in Zombies or Zombie flix it was pretty descent, but was more of an Action type movie with a scifi zombie twist.

Do any of you have any favorite TV series that you like to watch?

What are your favorite genres?

I like to watch that as well sometimes! I hate to say it but I think Pauley Perrette looks so cute as the Goth lab chic Abby!

I just got through watching Horns! I liked the plot in the movie and the twist that was added to it! Of course it is a bit strange for me to see Daniel Radcliffe, that played Harry Potter, playing in an adult role even with a few nude scenes, but enjoyed it anyway!

The original NCIS is much better to me especially with her playing the Abby part!

I don't much care for the New Orleans version, because of the faking it Southern Voice dialect thing!

I have also been enjoying Breaking Bad lately!
That is a pretty series to watch!

Oh hell not! You can have Jerry Springer I see enough of "Springer" type stuff in real life to get an overdose from it!

That is one thing I see with a lot of people out there Passion so many live off drama and love to cause it to make them feel like their lives aren't as bad. I try my best to not fall into that, because it make society take 3 steps back for every 1 forward they make.

Nope I missed that I do believe Boots!

I watched "Stolen" last night and wound up with a bit of New Orleans flash backs in some scenes. Nicolas Cage was the main actor in it but I think my review would be a bit skewed since I just don't particularly care for him in some movies. I enjoyed it though, it was a good movie.

Before that I watched "3 Days to Kill". Kevin Costner was the main actor in that one. Vivi played by Amber Heard was my hubba hubba bad a** chic is that one though. Enjoyed the movie!

Man it has a been long time since I saw either of those!

I watched "Mocking Jay" Part 1 the other night enjoyed it, but kept getting interrupted so I'm going to watch it again probably soon. What I did get to see uninterrupted I did enjoy!

Watched "Star Trek Nemesis" and "Star Trek Generations" again last night, but after seeing the newest "Star Trek into Darkness" movie I was really not impressed by going back to watch those again. The story lines were just not followed as good as they should have been and didn't have the intensity I would have expected.

"Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" is another one I watched. That was a strange movie and was set up more like in a Buck Rogers type comic book flick. The main reason why I watched it was because Angeline Jolie was in it. Yeah she got to be one of the badasses in the movie kicking some robot booties etc. to help save New York and the world. The "old comic strip" kid side of me enjoyed it though.

Now you have me wanting to go watch it, Scareface, The Godfather Movies, etc. again and maybe the remake mini series Bonnie and Clyde and the The Great Gatsby which I missed seeing in the theater. Have either of you watched that one?

Looks around for my Black Trilby Fedora, suspenders, tie, Pinstriped Suit, some shinny Wing Tip shoes with white spats, and a pocket watch on a chain! Of course I will need at least 1 Flapper Doll and can't forget a Chopper aka Tommy Gun!

Just remember what Al Capone said:

btw Boots I have some links for you to look over if you want to do anything like that, although I doubt I will have the time to help you with it right now.

Oddly enough I think I may have had a stent in that era somehow, because some of it I find fascinating. The lingo used then is rather strange to some and quit a few would get lost!

Steps into the "Speak Easy" to stash my "Chopper", hide from the "Coppers", orders some "Hooch", and looks for my "Moll" in the back room

no but I do recall the adults taking about the men in suits and government cars who would come and talk to Uncle Tito (yes his real name). He had tax issues in the past. We never asked and he never told. I know he was not Tony Soprano but he always knew so much about college and pro sports. Thought he was a fan. A fan of making book.
