He is collecting options. He clearly had a better one.

I never give my number. I was too paranoid. They had to give me their contacts.

Men are no different then woman, some will send notes to anyone that replies.Use the delete often after reading profile if you see red flags,or something distasteful in their note.Odds are you'll want to block also.

I have found some great friends I have met, that are not in forums, and seem truly looking for a g/f or just a friend.Either way it's always a gamble, meet first in public, before giving out personal information.

Last week met someone for coffee,he showed up 4 times in 8 days. With out knowing personal info where I live etc.
Sweet guy as a potentional friend. Not sure about anything more to this point.I'm not ready to have dinner with him, even tho he's asked.

You have to have that sense of trust.

I never figured that out myself. I WAS very careful about handing out my personal information like my phone #...if they wanted an e-mail I had a special one just for those who wanted to email. If they turned out to be weird than all I had to do is erase that e-mail account. Quick and dirty. I am still not sure exactly made me trust my current BF. We met on-line. In fact I met him here on this site. I gave him one of my email accounts that I can easily erase if he turned out to be a nut job. We have been dating for almost 3 years now and I could not be happier. I will say I really took it SLOOOW since I met him here and well the mere mention of "Hook-up" gave me pause to think what is his agenda?? did he just want a Friends with Benefits arrangement? or a real relationship? We met at a local chinese place and just talked for a very long time. And from then on we talked every night and would see each other a couple days a week meeting at the mall and eventually I went to his house and met his dog (I Dogs). I cannot speak for the agendas of the men on this site now. I personally would not date anybody from this site now. Too many whackjobs, bitter men on now, or they want to date around and not be exclusive.

@ilovemyjob

Be careful about giving out your personal information until you meet them face to face first. They could use the information you give them & pretend to be you.

It's not that he had other options. He is probably a scammer getting personal information from you so he can create a profile to be posing as you.

Don't give out your emails. Scammers usually ask for your emails. That's how they communicate. Because talking to you on phone, you would hear their accents & you will be able to tell that they are not Americans. If they are really serious about getting to know you, they should have no problem giving you their phone numbers. If they are legitimate they should be able to talk to you on the phone.

Most American men will understand if you don't want to give out your email. They understand that this is the internet so you have to be be careful. If they don't understand that then they are probably scammers.

Many American women have been tricked by these men from Ghana. They pose as Americans then they ask you for money. They pretend to be stuck in Ghana on a business trip & will ask u to send them money. It has happened to many many Americans. I hope to protect other american women from being scammed by these people in Ghana. They are usually from Ghana & Nigeria.

You are being negative toward her. It's not that he has a better option. He is probably collecting personal information to create profiles in her name.

If he is serious about getting to know you, & starting a relationship with you, he shouldn't have any problem giving you his phone number. If they don't give u their phone numbers then something is wrong. They are either a scammer, they don't want u to hear their voice because u will figure it out that they are not American. They will have a foreign accent, they are posing as an American. Or they are married & they don't want I to call them on their phone cos they don't want the wife to see your number on their phone.

There should not be a reason a man for a man to not want to give out his phone number, unless:

1. He is married or already has a girlfriend. Doesn't want the wife/girlfriend to see your phone number on his cellphone.

2. He is a scammer pretending to be an American. He doesn't want u to hear his voice because he has an accent. You will figure it out that he is a scammer in a foreign country & not an American. This is why all scammers will ask for your email & insist on communicating with you by email. They don't want u to hear their foreign accent. You will figure it out that they are not Americans.

Real American men would understand of you don't want to give out your emails.

Great piece of advise right here!

I have noticed many patterns of the liars. Men that are on DH all day every day & have DH turned off in the evenings.....significant other!

Liars & cheaters are abundant on here. Take the advice of the other women on here. Some have learned a lesson the hard way. Some catch on to the game pretty quick.

Be very careful. Don't give out personal info. Meet in public & tell a friend where & when you're going.

Stay safe & good luck!

Scammer collecting emails for marketing purposes.

MEET IN PERSON. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR EMAIL OR NUMBER UNTIL YOU GET TO KNOW THEM BETTER...IN PERSON.

I have met a lot of men on this site that I have kept in touch with over years since I signed on. Some single, some married. Some just wanting friendships or understanding. The first I had a crush on, lasted two years but didn't go any further because of his drinking.I also fell for a few yahoo members sales pitches. This site works more like speed dating. It opens up possibilities for both parties. The right one might come along. Eventually you lean the buzz words of who to trust.

All great advise. All true. So many scammers.
The married ones will be online all day - then each & every day (round quittin time) - crickets.
Or "I'm in town on business...." translates into "I'm looking for a call girl."
Here's one that's common for me: They leave me a message. I look at their profile. It says, yes to kids & the kids are living with them. Since I'm past the age of wanting to chase a toddler around full time, I'm honest about that. Now their kids are just with them every other weekend. (which is it? 1st your kids are full time, but now you're just one of those daddies that only takes care of his kids when it doesn't interfere with HIS play time) NOW, of course, I'm the b*tch. That's ok. I don't date lazy liars who use their children as a pawn, trying to make themselves look like great dads, but in reality they're one of those idiots who only wants the fun time with their kids & zero responsibility.
One idiot went so far as to tell me he had 2(!!!) children & he was a widow. That translated into: his DEAD wife was still very much alive & those 2 sons he had weren't his, but were another ex wives & he wasn't the father. (he crashed his car, paralyzed his (dead) ex wife & dumped her after she was permanently in a wheelchair (yeah, cuz I'd NEVER find out about that little lie). Geez.

DH has cured any yearning I ever had of wanting to date again. I turn them down in person & I turn them down online.

The good news is that I've acquired quite a few great female friends on DH & you can never have too many of those!!!

To look at the positive side, there are some very sweet people that I have chatted with, knowing i'll never meet them. And truly gentlemen. Some just want communication, and a listening ear.
Have to say the few I took time to meet, are still truly still sweet people. But maybe not on same page with life.

For the cyber kings that are looking for a cheep thrill, and a wet hand,I suggest super glue, made to last the moment.
