Op, my paralegal teach told her students in class one day, "Never let your emotions overule your business sense or financial sense."
I stick to that rule no matter what. I am not going to get so hung up on a man that I give him the ability to take advantage of me financially should he turn out to not be the man I thought he was.
Let this be a lesson learned the hard way for you hun. In the future keep your finances seperate from his and do not get yourself in a situation where if something happens between the two of you that you are not able to survive on your own.
Very smart, wish more women followed that!

OP...sorry you and your heart got rooked.
Hopefully you learned a few things from this unfortunate experience.
I consider myself an intelligent women and despite that, I still am shocked by how some of the guys I meet are total a** wipes. People today can act. Especially the sociopaths.
I screen each potential date and yet a few manage to filter through.
If you read the forums, it's filled with jaded folks who also have been betrayed, used, and abused. The haters build walls and degrade the opposite sex.
Don't listen to them. Learn and expand. This guy taught you a valuable life lesson. The lesson is learned. Keep moving forward and don't let this keep you from finding love.
