I saw the strangest thing... It looks almost exactly like a hummingbird but with a shorter tail and more legs, slightly smaller in size, at the hummingbird feeder. The hummingbirds sure don't like them and swooped in and ran them off.
I didn't know hummingbirds could chatter so viciously but they can sure create an uproar.

This is a Hummingbird (HAWK) MOTH....... Their wings has a loud humming sound ..... It has 6 legs.... No beak though.....

I have not heard it call that------Phoenix Moth....... I have heard it call Sphinx Moth though.........

I Googled it.
I first them called Hummingbird but they are also called: Sphinx Moth, Hawk Moth, Clearwing Moth, and Bee-Hawk Moth.
In the catapiller stage they called a Hornworm.

I putting 2 bird feeders on the front of my house; and 2 hummingbird feeders out of my living window....... I have seen 2 hummingbird there and a lot of birds at the feeder..... WOW !!! There was a pretty bird there......

Reminds me of a story.
My female friend, and I, after we both became widows, continued our husbands passion for fishing.
Every year we booked a lake cabin at a fishing resort and enjoyed the company of fellow fisherpersons.
One year she bought a cricket cage and a huge amount of crickets.
While we were enjoying a grilled steak and a beer one evening she knocked the cricket cage off the picnic table and all those little varmints went skittering in every direction.
We both jumped out of our seats and got down on our hands and knees and started trying to corral the chirpers.
About half-way through our roundup a fisherman walked past our cabin, seeing our endeavors he said, "Problem, ladies?", burst out laughing and continued on his way.
Now, what could you imagine he found so humorous?
