It means they have bad eyesight in one eye. 2020 is considered adequate for uncorrected vision. 420 means you can't see much with your left eye. 44 would be blind as a bat. 5050 is cross-eyed but with excellent acuity.

IDC what folks use ,as their name or whatever drugs they are on and ,face it,you drink coffee,tea,beer,etc. you are using a drug,so it matters little to me,and a lot of them are likely cops anyway.

A group of people in San Rafael, California, calling themselves the Waldos because "their chosen hang-out spot was a wall outside the school", used the term in connection with a fall 1971 plan to search for an abandoned cannabis crop that they had learned about. The Waldos designated the Louis Pasteur statue on the grounds of San Rafael High School as their meeting place, and 4:20 p.m. as their meeting time. The Waldos referred to this plan with the phrase "4:20 Louis". Multiple failed attempts to find the crop eventually shortened their phrase to simply "4:20", which ultimately evolved into a codeword that the teens used to mean marijuana-smoking in general. Mike Edison says that Steven Hager of High Times was responsible for taking the story about the Waldos to "mind-boggling, cult like extremes" and "suppressing" all other stories about the origin of the term.
Hager wrote "Stoner Smart or Stoner Stupid?" in which he called for 4:20 p.m. to be the socially accepted hour of the day to consume cannabis. He attributes the early spread of the phrase to Grateful Dead followers, who were also linked to the city of San Rafael.

as far as i know,though,the police have never had a list of "4" codes,like they do the "10" codes,so i doubt that was ever really a real thing.
personally,i think that the cat is out of the bag,and they ought to just start calling it 'weed',or 'pot' again,cuz their 'code' isnt fooling ANYBODY,anymore!!

but to be fair I've had a great relationship with "420", and can form coherent sentences. a lot of the hate towards weed smokers is very misinformed, very harsh.
I for once disliked everything that came with marijuana, until i smoked. but still even so the people that can't live without it are a great reason why I'm glad it doesn't run me.
that and other drugs (alcohol, caffeine, actual other drugs too) are all mind over matter. the cool thing about life is how we don't need ANY of those things, but people seldom see the light outside of the substances they think they need to do things they already can.

It does give you an in-depth look into what kind of "controlled substances" they like and tells you right then and there they're a pothead. A username can tell you something along with a profile. It does not bother me.

You run a daycare and publicly acknowledge you partake? Good luck keeping your license once that information gets known. YOU may end up being the loser. The fact remains marijuana is still an illegal substance on the federal level and the majority of states. I don't know of too many parents who would be comfortable leaving their children in your care knowing what you so casually throw out here. Just curious, do you volunteer that info to them? 
I agree with the OP. Many people feel the need to communicate way too much of their personal information and habits on a public forum. And then get all bent out of shape and defensive when called on it. If you can't take the heat then best to stay out of the kitchen. Some things are best left to a more private level. Otherwise it is fair game.
