Are many men just not wanting to help with support of their child? Not have to pay anything? A father should WANT to help provide for his child. I understand that there are some women who take advantage of getting child support & don't use it on the child or all of the money on the child. But also many DO.
Not that I disagree, but to present a counter argument:
Before a woman leaves the father of her child to shack up with another man, she should consider the economic implications of that decision. Rather she likes it or not - she's not deciding for 'one' once a child is involved. In America, the rights of women have improved exponentially in a short period of time (historically speaking). The responsibilities that come with that increased access to economic, social and legal empowerment have not kept pace.
Now if the father runs off - f**k him: pay your bill. The problem is, a lot of states (like mine) are 'no-fault' states, where the reason for the divorce plays no part in how the court treats the support requirements.

but, it doesn't take away this epidemic I spoke of.
And it is happening a lot too, and costing the tax payers more than this war that's still going on and on.
And it is premeditated, just as I said it was.
Kids are young and dumb...just like we were, and if she says, don't worry about a condom I'm on the pill...well obviously he will comply.
So, lets stop trying to shift the blame here.
I have a lot of respect for those who can accept some blame at times...and none for those who can't.
Maybe their previous generation didn't do this, but it happening now and by the millions too....The parents might provide her a home and a car and some baby sitting....but the rest comes from the taxpayers at a tune of over a grand a month.
And most of these so called Moms are not giving these kids enough love and time either, because their objective was to have them, just to live the good life.

Bumble- the moms and dads should be required to do more to support their kids. I've seen young people that had money for clubbing and hotels but kids on Medicaid and food stamps. Some of this is the governments fault.
