The Assault Weapons Ban Is A Stupid Idea Pushed By Stupid People who don't know the difference between an assault rifle and a slingshot!
According to FBI statistics, you are far more likely to be beaten to death by someone's fists than you are to be killed with a rifle.
It happens like clockwork, as soon as there’s a mere whisper of a terrorist attack or a mass shooting, the usual suspects kick into high gear. Their destination is always the same, a faraway land where a so-called assault weapons ban magically eliminates not only guns but also prevents guns from walking of their own volition, without need of human agency, into crowded places and killing people.
The reaction after the terrorist attack in Orlando, in which a radical Islamist who pledged allegiance to ISIS murdered at least 49 people in a packed nightclub, was as predictable as it was pathetic.
Semper Fi !!!
Set aside for the moment the fact that no automatic weapons were used in the Orlando terrorist attack (an automatic weapon is one for which a single trigger pull will fire multiple bullets), and that it is literally impossible for a semi-automatic weapon to fire 700 rounds per minute. Nor, to my knowledge, have automatic weapons ever been used in a mass shooting in the modern era.
When silly people like Seth MacFarlane and Susan Sarandon say they want to ban “automatic weapons,” what they mean is that they want to ban guns that look scary. They don’t understand that you can’t walk into a gun store and walk out with a military-style assault weapon (one that can fire multiple rounds with a single trigger pull). That’s because 1) most gun dealers don’t carry the military version of the scary looking gun, 2) you have to jump through an obscene number of hoops with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) to even obtain a tax stamp that says you may purchase such a weapon (a process that takes months, if not years), and 3) the actual versions of rifles used by the military are really expensive and unaffordable for the vast majority of prospective gun owners.
What you can buy from your local gun dealer, after that licensed gun dealer has confirmed that you passed a federal background check (yep, that’s required by existing law), is a semi-automatic rifle. And now, a bunch of gun controllers who don’t understand the slightest thing about guns have decided that rifle needs to be banned. Not because it’s more deadly than a typical hunting rifle (it’s absolutely not), but because it looks scarier.
But before we dive into whether the assault weapons ban was merely dumb, or if it was monumentally stupid and counterproductive, it’s important to define what the previous federal ban covered and how it defined an “assault weapon.” The 1994 assault weapons law banned semi-automatic rifles only if they had any two of the following five features in addition to a detachable magazine: a collapsible stock, a pistol grip, a bayonet mount, a flash suppressor, or a grenade launcher.
That’s it. Not one of those cosmetic features has anything whatsoever to do with how or what a gun fires. Note that under the 1994 law, the mere existence of a bayonet lug, not even the bayonet itself, somehow turned a garden-variety rifle into a bloodthirsty killing machine. Guns with fixed stocks? Very safe. But guns where a stock has more than one position? Obviously they’re murder factories. A rifle with both a bayonet lug and a collapsible stock? Perish the thought.
A collapsible stock does not make a rifle more deadly. Nor does a pistol grip. Nor does a bayonet mount. Nor does a flash suppressor. And for heaven’s sake, good luck finding, let alone purchasing, 40mm explosive grenades for your rifle-mounted grenade launcher (and remember: the grenade launcher itself is fine, just as long as you don’t put the ultra-deadly bayonet lug anywhere near it).
The complete unfamiliarity with guns and how they work that led to the inept definitions in the 1994 law was on full display in a now-infamous television interview with Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, a New York congresswoman who backed the so-called assault weapons ban. In the interview, Tucker Carlson asked McCarthy to define “barrel shroud,” a firearm feature regulated by the law. Here’s how she answered:
CARLSON: I read the legislation and it said that it would regulate “barrel shrouds.” What’s a barrel shroud and why should we regulate that?
MCCARTHY:The guns that were chosen back in those days were basically the guns that most gangs and criminals were using to kill our police officers. I’m not saying it was the best bill, but that was they could get out at that particular time.
CARLSON: Ok. Do you know what a barrel shroud is?
MCCARTHY: I actually don’t know what a barrel shroud is. I think it’s the shoulder thing that goes up.”
“The shoulder thing that goes up.” It’s not the “shoulder thing that goes up.” There is no “shoulder thing that goes up.” The “barrel shroud” (a term nobody uses) is simply a hand guard that goes around a barrel. That embarrassing spectacle happened over seven years ago, and yet over that period of time, McCarthy’s fellow gun banners still haven’t seen fit to learn the slightest thing about the objects they wish to regulate.

Part 2.
Semper Fi !!!
If the cosmetic features used to define an “assault weapon” in the 1994 law strike you as really stupid ways to define an “assault weapon,” it’s because the 1994 law was a stupid law with stupid definitions written by stupid people. And not only was it a stupid law, it was a stupid law that didn’t even accomplish its stated goal. How do we know? Because today, more than a decade after the law’s expiration, the number of people murdered by rifles is 36 percent lower than it was during the last full year the assault weapons ban was in effect.
The law expired in September of 2004, making 2003 the last full calendar year in which the law was in effect. According to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) crime statistics, 390 people were murdered with rifles in 2003, making rifles the weapon of choice in 2.7 percent of murders that year. But in 2014, more than a decade after these vile weapons of war flooded American streets, the number of rifle murders surely skyrocketed, right?
Not so much. Quite the opposite. In 2014, the most recent year for which detailed FBI data are available, rifles were used in 248 murders. And not only are rifles used in far fewer murders over a decade following the expiration of the 1994 gun ban, they’re also used in a smaller percentage of homicides. In 2003, when the gun ban was in full effect, rifles were used in nearly 3 percent of murders. In 2014, they were used in barely 2 percent.
That’s the exact opposite of what gun banners said should happen. After the assault weapons ban, guns were supposed to flood the streets and just start killing people. Crime was supposed to skyrocket. But that’s not what happened. Yes, Americans bought a ton of rifles after the law expired, but rather than going up, the number of homicides in which rifles were used drastically fell. There were way more guns, but way less crime.
Are you ready for a mind-blowing statistic? In 2014, you were six times more likely to be murdered with a knife than you were with a rifle. Knives were the weapon of choice in 1,567 murders in 2014, according to the FBI. It gets crazier. You were also nearly three times more likely to be killed by someone’s fists or feet than you were to be murdered with a rifle. In 2014, 660 people were murdered with what the FBI calls “personal weapons”–hands, fists, feet–compared to 248 with rifles.
In the United States, knives are more deadly than rifles. So are fists. And feet. This is not my opinion. It is an incontrovertible fact. And it’s a fact that highlights a point that far too many people refuse to acknowledge: the human desire to kill is far more deadly than any weapon. Weapons do not of their own volition and agency decide to kill people. That requires human intervention. Humans hell-bent on death and destruction will get their hands on whatever tools they need to wreak their desired havoc. Restricting the use of those tools by innocent people who only want to protect themselves and their families is delusional madness.
Yet here we are. Rather than blaming individuals and ideologies, the leading lights of American society have decided to demonize inanimate objects. Despite the fact that the terrorist in Orlando was a radical jihadi who pledged allegiance to ISIS, progressives have decided to blame the NRA for what happened. Even though the terrorist was registered to vote as a Democrat, his fellow Democrats have decided that Republicans are the true culprits.
This is apparently how 2016 is going to go. If a boy tells you he’s a girl, then he’s a girl. If an Islamic terrorist who pledges allegiance to ISIS tells you he’s killing for Allah, then he’s probably a Republican with a lifetime NRA membership. After all, Islamic terrorists don’t kill people; peaceful, law-abiding citizens who believe the Second Amendment means what it says kill people.
Collective leftist denial about the existential, radical Islamic threat facing America is not going to prevent Islamic terrorism. Gun bans that ban guns based on nothing more than scary-looking cosmetic features are not going to prevent radical jihadis from murdering innocent people. Pretending that Republicans and the NRA are the real villains is not going to prevent ISIS from killing more Americans. Ignoring the fact that these attacks seem to only happen in gun-free zones won’t prevent violent psychopaths from waltzing into those gun-free zones and gunning down the unarmed civilians who congregate there.
But all those things will make progressives feel better about themselves, and who are you to deny them that right?

Funny thing about the term "Assault Weapon". None of my firearms, including my two MSR's, are "assault weapons".
None of them, not a single one, has ever "assaulted" anyone.
However, if I, one of my loved ones, one of my friends, or even a total stranger found them self in imminent danger from an armed maniac, terrorist, or just a typical, whacked out run-of-the-mill liberal, then any one of my weapons would immediately transform itself into an "assault weapon".
Funny how that works.

I must be a really lucky guy.
Two weeks ago I was in Louisville, KY. I was right there in the midst of tens of thousands of NRA Members.
Annual Members. Life Members. Endowment Members. Patron Members. Benefactor Members. Old Members. Young Members. Black Members. White Members. Asian Members. Male Members. Female Members. Short Members. Fat Members. Tall Members. Skinny Members.
Many were open carrying. Many more, I'm sure, were carrying concealed. My buddy was packing a pair of Glocks.
Donald Trump was there. So was Ted Nugent. And Allen West. And Oliver North. And David Clarke. And Susan Howard. And Kimberly Corbin. Apparently, none of them were bothered by the fact there were thousands of guns on the premises. No one was forced to be there. Everyone who was there was there because they wanted to be there.
My buddy and I hit Louisville on Thursday, before the meetings started. We stayed for all three days, leaving on Monday. We were there every minute of every hour of every day.
Everything was peaceful. Tens of thousands of NRA Members. Thousands of guns. God only knows how many millions of dollars were exchanged between the vendors and the attendees. The place had to be awash in cash.
Yet, for those three wonderful days, Louisville, Kentucky was probably the safest city in America.
As was Nashville, the year before.
And Indianapolis, the year before that.
And Houston, the year before that.
Yet somehow, when some a**hole with ties to ISIS shoots up a nightclub in Orlando, it's our fault.
I don't get it.

Guess that's why "I don't get it".
I could be drunk on whiskey, snorted up on coke, hallucinating on LSD or crack, and my thought process still wouldn't be as f**ked up as a run-of-the-mill liberal.
The NRA teaches how to defend life and liberty. Planned Parenthood kills the defenseless unborn. Liberals despise the NRA, but fund Planned Parenthood with confiscated taxpayer money.
If anything is twisted, f**ked-up, perverted, insane, absurd or Satanic, the libs are all for it.
I have to run down to Cabela's now. I need a few of "Those shoulder things that pop up". I'm sure the guys in the gun department will know what I'm talking about.

A knowledgeable friend of mine sent me this last night. It might be repeating some of the info Tileman gave us, but the dates in this should be noted-
Ok. I'm going to have to fix a few people on here because emotions are high and stupid shit is being supported.
First off, most of you have no clue what an assault rifle is! It's not your fault you don't know, I will educate you. An assault rifle is a rifle with the ability to go fully automatic. That means if you hold the trigger down, it keeps going bang until you release the trigger or the weapon runs out of ammo. The first assault rifle came about during WWII with the German Stg44. It had the power of a rifle with nearly the rate of fire of a sub-machine gun (full auto). Inspired out of this WWII era gun came the most well knows assault rifles of all time, the AK-47 and the M-16. Both had the ability for fully automatic fire. When people say they want a ban on assault weapons they think they are banning fully automatic rifles from civilian hands. The problem is that these weapons are ALREADY BANNED! See National Firearms Act of 1934, Gun Control Act of 1968, and Firearm Ownership Protection Act of 1986. Civilians cannot obtain these weapons. They are for military and police use almost exclusively.
So what is this AR-15 if not an assault rifle? It is a standard rifle that LOOKS LIKE a fully automatic M-16, but does not function like one. It does the same thing as any other standard rifle. One trigger pull = one bang. Most of you are not stupid enough to want to ban a Ruger Mini-14 ranch rifle (pictured on top), but cry that the AR-15 (pictured on bottom) is a deadly assault rifle when they are literally capable of the same thing. Same ammo, same capacity, same function. The aesthetic differences between the two are what some want to ban and have banned in the past, which if you look at them, are pants-on-head-retarded to consider deadly features. Some of the things that made a standard functioning rifle considered an assault weapon are:
A folding or telescoping stock - (does not make the weapon any deadlier).
A pistol grip - (does not make the weapon any deadlier).
A bayonet mount - (does not make the weapon any deadlier).
A flash suppressor - (does not make the weapon any deadlier).
You see what I'm getting at? The weapons you actually want banned are ALREADY BANNED. The weapons used in these attacks are regular functioning rifles designed to look like their full auto, military counterparts.
So if the AR-15 isn't more dangerous than any other standard rifle, then why is the one being used in all of these shootings? Simple. It just happens to be the most popular rifle in the country. It's the iPhone of rifles. It is an affordable, accurate rifle that is easy to personalize because everyone makes accessories for it. It isn't any easier to acquire than other rifles, just more available.
To wrap this up, If you support banning fully automatic assault rifles, fine. You support a law that is already in place for good reason. I agree we generally don't need machine guns. However, if you think we should ban standard functioning rifles because of things like how you hold the grip or how adjustable the buttstock is, you are an idiot!
Consider yourselves educated on this matter.

UCLA Professor: Congress should secretly suspend second amendment!
This professor is a stereotypical educated idiot. Had he been truly educated instead of indoctrinated he would know that the Constitution is the supreme law of the land and no congress, court or president has the authority to arbritrarily suspend or void any part of. The second amendment is in fact the enforcement mechanism We the People were given to counter any such attempt. If they want to stop "gun violence" then they should get serious and deal with the source. A gun is an inanimate object, neither good nor bad, it is the PERSON behind the gun who is either good or bad. There was neither a need nor any outcry for "gun control" until we stopped dealing effectively with violent criminals and more recently with radical Islam. As a result of liberal policies that have allowed both elements to flourish We the People are now under attack and liberal politicians along with their bureaucratic puppets want to disarm us by restricting or denying us access to the very weapons we need and are best suited for our defense. As previously stated, Our Constitution is the supreme law of the land and the second amendment specifically addresses this issue. The supreme court has ruled and it is now settled law. Further restricting our right to keep and bear arms, including so called "assault weapons" will require a repeal of the second amendment. That is not going to happen and most gun owners will either ignore or circumvent any prohibitions on their right to keep and bear arms just as a previous generation did regarding a prohibition on alcohol. The "gun grabbers" don't realize how dangerous this issue is. It has the potential to trigger an armed insurrection. It has happened twice in our nations history and in both cases (1776 and 1836) the "rebels" won. When we say come and take it we are serious. This is not Europe or Australia. We will neither surrender our weapons nor allow the government to confiscate them. Our founding fathers made it clear that their intent was to ensure that We the People have access to the same type of arms "in common use" as the government. They gave us the second amendment to serve as a defensive tool against domestic enemies, terrorists and government tyranny. We need it today as much as we did then, perhaps even more. We should make no compromises on this issue. If anything we should be taking back some of the ground we have given up.

Liberals, the news media and the gun grabbers try their best to conceal the truth about gun stats. The bottom line is that they want to transform our country into something that they alone can control. That will never happen as long as we Americans own guns and have our constitutional rights.hitler wanted to disarm as many people as possible in europe because he knew he could never take control as long as people owned guns. His plan was to make everybody register their weapons and when the time was right he'd send in his army to disarm everyone.Well we all know the outcome of that.
Semper Fi !!!
Here are the top stats liberals don’t want you to know:
Background Checks Do Not Stop High Profile Attackers–Although gun grabbers relentlessly push background checks as the solution to stopping high profile attacks on innocent Americans, the facts are that background checks do not hinder high profile attackers in the least. Alleged Orlando attacker Omar Mateen passed a background check for his guns, as did UCLA gunman Mainak Sarkar and almost every high profile attacker in the past 10 years.
Breitbart New previously published a list of attackers and alleged attackers who passed background checks for their guns, and that list stands as evidence that background checks are no hindrance to evil persons dedicated to murder. The list includes: “Sayed Farook and Tashfeen Malik (San Bernardino), Noah Harpman (Colorado Springs), Chris Harper Mercer (Umpqua Community College), Vester Lee Flangan (Virgina), John Russell Houser (Lafayette), Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez (Chattanooga), Dylann Roof (Charleston), Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi (Garland), Jared and Amanda Miller (Las Vegas), Elliot Rodger (Santa Barabara), Ivan Lopez (Fort Hood 2014), Darion Marcus Aguilar (Maryland mall), Karl Halverson Pierson (Arapahoe High School), Paul Ciancia (LAX), Andrew John Engeldinger (Minneapolis), Aaron Alexis (DC Navy Yard), Tennis Melvin Maynard (West Virginia), Wade Michael Page (Sikh Temple), James Holmes (Aurora theater), Jared Loughner (Tucson), Nidal Hasan (Fort Hood 2009), Jiverly Wong (Binghamton), Seung-Hui Cho (Virginia Tech), Naveed Haq (Seattle), and Mark Barton (Atlanta).”
2. More People Killed With Clubs, Hammers Than Rifles–Amid the push for an “assault weapons” ban following the Sandy Hook attack, Breitbart News consulted FBI numbers for the years 2005-2011 and found that the number of murders by hammers and clubs constantly topped the number of murders by rifle. For example, In 2005 the number of murders committed with a rifle was 445, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 605. In 2006, the number of murders committed with a rifle was 438, while the number of murders committed with hammers and clubs was 618. In 2011, there was 323 murders committed with a rifle but 496 murders committed with hammers and clubs.
And it should be noted the rifles in view here include all kinds of rifles–bolt-actions, semiautomatic hunting rifles, semiautomatic target rifles, etc.–so the percentage of deaths in which a rifles like an AR-15 were used would be even smaller than the overall number quoted for the years above.
3.AR-15s Are Not “Automatic” Rifles–Although politicians like Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, celebrities like Seth MacFarlene, and too many media pundits to number have referred to the AR-15 as an “automatic” weapon during last few months, the fact remains that AR-15s are semiautomatic firearms. They shoot one round–and only one round–each time the trigger is pulled. This means an AR-15 shoots no faster than a Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm handgun, or a Glock or Sig Sauer .40 caliber handgun, or an H&K or Ruger .45 caliber handgun. Claims to the contrary are either based on ignorance or are part of a focused attempt to demonize the AR-15.
4. Guns Are Legally Used For Self-Defense Purposes Approximately 760,000 A Year–Staggering isn’t it? Especially when you consider the way the mainstream media covers gun crime after gun crime, giving the impression that guns are just bad things which bad people use to hurt good people. Yet Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck has demonstrated that guns are used for defensive purposes approximately 760,000 a year in the United States.
5.Gun-Free Zones Are Killing Fields–The Orlando terror attack to place in gun-free zone. Result? Approximately 50 dead. The attack in the Umpqua Community College gun-free zone (October 2015) left 9 dead, the attack on the gun-free Chattanooga military offices (July 2015) left five dead, the attack in Fort Hood’s gun-free zone (April 2014) left 3 dead, the earlier attack in Fort Hood’s gun-free zone (November 2009) killed 13, the attack in the gun-free DC Navy Yard (September 2013) killed 12, the attack on gun-free Sandy Hook Elementary (December 2012) killed 26, the attack in the gun-free Aurora movie theater (July 2012) killed 12, and the attack on the gun-free Virginia Tech campus (April 2007) killed 32. Think about it–Eight gun-free zones, 207 firearm-related deaths.
6. More Children Under 10 Killed By Fire, Drowning Than Accidental Gun Deaths—Breitbart News previously reported Centers for Disease Control and Prevention numbers for 2010. The figures were compiled by John Lott, they showed the number of children under the age of 10 unintentionally killed in fire-related deaths was over seven times higher than the number of children killed in unintentional gun-related deaths, and the number of children killed in unintentional drowning deaths was sixteen times higher than the number of children killed in unintentional gun-related deaths. The raw numbers were as follows: Number of children killed in unintentional fire-related deaths was 262, the number of unintentional drowning 609, the number of accidental gun-related deaths was 36.

If you have any doubts about Muslim immigration, this might clear up your thinking.
This “furniture shipment” was supposed to go to the refugee camps in GREECE to make their life more bearable and ease their hardships.
52 tons of guns and ammunition in big 40’ double containers followed the migrants to Europe, pretending to be furniture but, was discovered by the Greek border securities in 14 containers.
If this doesn’t convince you that this IMMIGRATION is nothing less than an ARMED INVASION then nothing will.
Wonder still why all those young (military age) men without children or wives are taking on the task of traveling all those miles posing as refugees?
Most western nation Main Stream media won’t cover this… So please share…

Just in: 18 shot; 6 fatally…
Written by Michele Hickford, Editor-in-Chief on June 19, 2016
Yes, it’s just another weekend in Barack Obama’s hometown of Chicago. Is there any outrage from the left? Is anyone clamoring for more gun control – even though Chicago has some of the strictest gun control in the nation? Is the media blaming the NRA for this calamity? Is anyone trying to find out the motives of the shooters? Explain away their angst because they were conflicted about their sexual orientation or were mentally unstable? And where are the vigils being planned from Black Lives Matter? Must have missed that…Al Sharpton must be busy this weekend, figuring out his taxes.
ABC7 reports, At least 18 people have been shot so far this weekend and six of those victims are dead.
Two security guards were called to a large outdoor party at a housing complex in the 1300 block of West Hastings. Someone started shooting and a 24-year-old man was shot in the back and killed. The two security guards were wounded.
Officers received a call of shots fired in the 4800 block of West Monroe in Austin just before 5:30 a.m. Saturday and found a 23-year-old man lying face down, police said. He was shot several times and was dead at the scene.
One man, 29, was shot in both thighs, his hand a forearm. The other man, 30, was shot in the hand. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital where their conditions stabilized, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office did not confirm the two most recent deaths Saturday morning.
Two men, both 19, were in a vehicle in the first block of South Springfield in West Garfield Park about 1:30 a.m. when they were shot, police said.
One man was shot in the abdomen and was dead at the scene, police said. The other was shot in right leg and listed in good condition at Mount Sinai Hospital.
Late Friday, a man was fatally shot in the North Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side.
The 22-year-old was shot in the neck about 10:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of South Kirkland, police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner’s office confirmed both deaths but didn’t release additional details Saturday morning.
The weekend’s first fatal shooting occurred in West Englewood.
A 16-year-old boy was shot in the head just after 9 p.m. by two males who approached the vehicle he was riding in, police said.
Police said the teen, identified by his mother as Melvin Cook, was pronounced dead at the scene, though the medical examiner’s office could not immediately confirm the fatality.
Police said the driver ran away from the vehicle after the shooting.
The most recent nonfatal shooting occurred on Lake Shore Drive in the Lake View neighborhood.
A 27-year-old man walked into Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the foot just before 5:30 a.m., police said. He told investigators he was shot in the 3200 block of North Lake Shore Drive.
His condition had stabilized Saturday morning, though additional details were not immediately available, police said.
Just another deadly, horrific weekend in Chicago. Move along. Nothing to see here.
It just seems like if Black Lives REALLY DO Matter, activists would be making a big deal about how this happens so often in Chicago and in other inner cities across the nation? If Black Lives REALLY DO Matter, why doesn’t the organization work hard to determine why this continues to occur. What social and economic conditions exist to generate this kind of behavior? What has contributed to the breakdown in the inner city civil society and in the families? Where are the parents? The faith leaders?
If this were white on black crime we wouldn’t hear the end of it. But it’s not. Frankly, this weekend was really no big whoop — of course it’s not over yet. Anyway, it can’t compare to this year’s Memorial Day weekend when 6 people were killed and at least 63 shot.
But if Black Lives REALLY DO Matter could you please explain why y’all keep shooting each other?

From the North Woods River News, Rhinelander, Wisconsin:
A terrorist has inflicted another horrible tragedy on the United States and its citizens, and, as usual, there's one more casualty than the number reported by the mainstream media.
That would be truth itself, which lies mortally wounded in the hail of proclamations fired off by the media, by liberal and Democratic politicians, and especially by President Barack Obama.
Among other things, the president couldn't identify the killer's motive in slaughtering 49 people in an Orlando night club, even though the FBI had twice interviewed the murderer about his ties to Islamic radicals, not to mention to American suicide bomber Moner Abu Salha, and even though the killer pledged allegiance - three times - to ISIS in 9-1-1 calls just prior to the attack.
The president simply couldn't negotiate the truth of the attack through the blinders of his belief system.
Likewise, it didn't take long for the atrocity to get the media going on its predictably dishonest anti-gun rants. CNN right away blared that the U.S. was "home to nearly a third of world's mass shootings."
Of course, buried in the fine print is the definition. If you exclude gang shootings and domestic violence - apt exclusions if you want to put mass public shootings in context - the number of shootings this year drops from 136 to three.
Even if the higher number were true, they tell a misleading story. Indeed, between 2009 and 2015, when we were supposed to be in the throes of deadly gun violence, the U.S. ranked only 11th in the annual death rate from mass public shootings per capita, compared to Canada and European countries, and only 12th in the frequency of mass public shootings during that time compared to those same countries, according to John Lott's Crime Prevention Research Center.
There were 55 percent more casualties per capita from mass public shootings in Europe than in the U.S from 2009-15, the center reports.
What's more, different countries use different means to commit mass violence, another truth the media slays. As the CPRC reports, many countries suffer from bombing violence at a much higher rate than the U.S. does. As recently as March 16, as it reports, a bombing attack in Belgium killed 31 people and wounded 180.
And Russia, which makes a point of gun confiscation, has 1.31 mass bombing murders per 1 million people. In other countries, mass stabbings represent a new epidemic.
Which brings us to a couple of all-important truths the media conveniently ignores.
The first is, as presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump has pointed out, new gun laws will do nothing to stop mass shootings by terrorists, but they would disarm law-abiding American citizens who increasingly need to defend themselves. France has much stricter gun laws than the U.S., for instance, but that did not prevent terrorists from shooting 89 people to death in the Bataclan night club last November.
The second point is, this nation needs to focus not on the varied methods terrorists use to kill innocent people but on the terrorists themselves. The pronouncements of Obama and Hillary Clinton and their liberal ilk would have us believe that, if we just ban guns, the terrorists will go away.
Well, no they won't, and the gun-control gibberish of the elite liberal class is distracting attention from that dire threat.
If I have a child who insists on going to a bar every night and getting drunk, and who vows to continue to do so, do I blame the motorcycle he drives there every night? If I just take the keys, he won't get there?
That's not logical, of course. He will find another way - walking, a bike, a car - and he will go. It's not the motorcycle I need to deal with or any other method of transportation he might choose, but the very real problems associated with his motives and behaviors.
And so with the terrorists. It is the terrorists - their motivations and actual behaviors - we must deal with, not the methods they use to carry them out. Take one away and they will choose another. It's Islamic terror, and the Muslim belief system in general, we need to fear, not the guns they use.
As David Inserra of The Heritage Foundation points out, the Orlando massacre is the 86th instance of Islamic terror in the United States since 9/11.
"This attack is the 22nd plot or attack since the start of 2015, and the sixth this year," Inserra writes. "The massacre in Orlando is also the 20th attack or plot aimed at large public gatherings, such as bars and restaurants, shopping malls, parks, and conventions. Mass gatherings are the second-most common target, just after military targets, which have been targeted 21 times."
Since January 2015, he adds, the U.S. has seen an uptick in plots targeting mass gatherings (nine) as well as law enforcement (five), while Orlando is the 11th attack since 9/11 and the fifth attack in the past 12 months.
We focus on a political agenda and on one means to violence and ignore those committed to that violence at our own peril. Even if one only considers mass public shootings, as John Lott points out, as of this past March, Muslims had committed 18 of the worst 20 mass public shootings in the world.
Make that 19 of 21.
The attack on a gay nightclub is the just the beginning of a broader attack on American culture. There are 10 countries, all of them fundamentally undemocratic, in which Islamic sharia law and mainstream society allow homosexuality to be punished by death, and those nations are no more impressed with western culture in general. Is it really so surprising, then, that Islamic radicals seek to enforce sharia law through vigilante terror in foreign nations?
The Orlando attack represents nothing less than the invasion of America by a foreign force that despises both democracy and Western culture. It must be repelled.
If the Democratic Party and liberals continue to tolerate it, they are not only emphatically endorsing the most violent abuse of women and gays, they are surrendering our entire value system to the enemy.
America is at war, and the president of the United States and the presumptive Democratic nominee need to acknowledge it and pledge to defeat this modern plague.
They need to acknowledge, now, that the Orlando nightclub was just the latest target in a war in which all Americans are considered the enemy, and worthy of the death penalty, be it by knife or bomb or gun.

Teen Who Attempted to Assassinate Trump is in America Illegally
John S. Roberts
10:10pm June 20, 2016
At a Donald Trump rally in Las Vegas this past weekend a teenage kid attempted to steal a police officer’s gun.
He later admitted he was going to try to assassinate the billionaire businessman.
But wait, there’s more.
Turns out the kid is in America illegally.
SMH.
From Las Vegas Now:
The man facing charges for attempting to grab a police officer’s gun so he could allegedly shoot candidate Donald Trump is in the United States illegally.
He had overstayed his visa from the United Kingdom[…]
During the arraignment, it was also learned that Sandford had been living in his car and that he has Asperger syndrome, a form of autism.
Sandford has not been diagnosed with a mental illness but has tried to commit suicide in the past.
He doesn’t have a criminal record.
America does not have a gun problem.
We have a radical Islamic problem.
More than that, we have an illegal immigration problem.
Had the kid done what he intended to do and killed Trump, it could’ve easily been prevented if he were kicked out of the country when his visa expired.
But nooooo.
We have to let things get out of hand before we do something about it.
What are the chances now this 19-year-old is sent back home?
What’s the over/under?

Using an AR to perform abortions?
"Gun orphanages?
LAGO DEL DESESPERACIÓN, FLORIDA — Back in April of this year, 28 year old nurse and Florida resident Jane Sampson was raped while walking home after working a late shift at St. Mary’s Hospital. To her utter shock and dismay, when Jane missed her period in May, she took a pregnancy test and found out she was carrying her rapist’s child. Without any hesitation, she headed to the Planned Parenthood in her city, only to be told that in Florida she had to wait 24-hours to have the pregnancy — the pregnancy only brought about by her rape — terminated.
“I was so angry and sad,” Sampson told our reporter via Skype, “because I had already been horribly violated and traumatized. Then, a month after I was raped I find out I’m pregnant with that scumbag’s seed? I wanted it out of me right then and there. And in America an abortion is my constitutional right; it has been for decades. But not in red-ass Florida.”
So, Sampson says, she did some quick research online and found that not even traveling to one of Florida’s closest neighboring states would let her, as a rape victim, immediately terminate the rape pregnancy. That’s when Sampson says she stumbled upon a fact that she said “completely changed everything.” In Florida, while rape victims have to wait a full day to get an abortion, anyone can buy an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle with absolutely no waiting period whatsoever.
“Once I found out that I had more rights to a firearm than I did to control my own biological bodily functions,” Ms. Sampson told us, “I knew exactly what I had to do. So I went down to Liberty Gun and Ammo and bought myself a Bushmaster AR-15. I was going to end this pregnancy one way or another.”
Given that the AR-15 is a high-powered rifle, Sampson knew it would take some modification to use in her own abortion. Luckily for Jane, Bushmaster has a special line of U-Abort It™ rifle accessories that can be added to the AR-15, allowing it to be used with surgical precision.
“It turns out, my state isn’t the only one that sees zero irony in making weapons of wanton death and destruction easy to get while making a safe and legal, constitutionally protected medical service as hard to have performed as possible,” Jane told us, “and so Bushmaster developed a whole product line for red state women like me who still want to have control over our own reproduction, silly us.”
Once the abortion was complete, Sampson says she had no more use for the gun. Fortunately for her, being a resident in Florida, she could take her AR-15 to any one of the 55 state gun orphanages that Governor Rick Scott had created during his first term. The gun orphanages match up lost, abandoned or surrendered firearms to homes that, according to the official state charter for the orphanages “display good, clean, ammo-hoarding patriotism.”
“There really aren’t that many experiences in life that are worse than being raped,” Sampson said, “except maybe finding out you’re pregnant from the rape. But, luckily for me even though my state doesn’t value my life enough to let me decide to instantly terminate my attacker’s pregnancy he inflicted me with, they gave me an option to take matters into my own hands, I guess.”
Maybe this idiot will now try blowing her nose with a 357 Magnum.

TIME TO OUTLAW ALL TRUCKS
Media Blames Truck, Not Terrorists or Islam, For Nice Attack
Will banning assault trucks stop more violence?
Paul Joseph Watson - July 15, 2016 ?3196 Comments
Media Blames Truck, Not Terrorists or Islam, For Nice Attack
Leftist media outlets reacted to the devastating attack in Nice not by blaming Islam or even terrorists, but by suggesting that an inanimate object – the truck – was responsible for the carnage.
Instead of pointing the finger at Islamists, CNN, CBC and the New York Times all published headlines that served to hide the true nature of the attack.
CBC reported, “Children feared killed in Nice as truck attacks family event”. Presumably, the truck was somehow able to manifest artificial intelligence and plough itself through dozens of victims.
Not to be outdone, CNN reported “Truck rams crowd; 84 dead in Nice,” again providing a convenient way of avoiding any mention of the ideology that inspired the driver.
The New York Times went with “Truck attack on French crowd; Scores die,” again pinning the blame on the vehicle rather than the Islamist inside it.
Given that the truck alone, and not the ideology that radicalized the terrorist who used one as a weapon, is to blame for the massacre in Nice, the solution to stop further violence is simple; Ban deadly assault trucks.
