Congressional Democrats ended their 25-hour sit-in on the House floor this afternoon, failing to force a vote on two pieces of gun legislation. The controversial sit-in included 26 Democratic lawmakers who themselves own guns, Heat Street learned after examining 2013 USA Today data on congressional firearms ownership. The participants also included 12 more Democrats in Congress who either didn’t respond to USA Today’s gun survey or declined to say whether or not they possessed a firearm.

The sit-in, launched by civil-rights leader Rep. John Lewis, centered on two pieces of proposed gun legislation. One would expand background checks to cover all commercial gun sales; the other seeks tougher prohibitions against gun purchases for terror suspects. More

Obama and his anti-gun activist minions are peddling a false narrative about guns because they understand most Americans are dumber than a sack of hammers and easily manipulated by propaganda. Obama uses every high profile shooting to blame guns, in order to deflect people from seeing the truth. And the truth is guns are not a problem in white America. It’s only a problem in the urban ghettos with the toughest gun laws run by Democrat mayors and city councils. Chicago is a perfect example of Obama ignoring the real problem. Fifty years of welfare programs and treating black people like victims has created a dysfunctional system leading to hopelessness, crime, and perpetual poverty. Chicago is 32% white, but they commit only 3.5% of the murders. Over 96% of the murders are committed by non-whites. Essentially, it is young black men murdering other black men. White people are not in the equation and are not part of the problem. It’s a black problem framed as a gun problem by Obama and his lying apparatchiks. There are approximately 8,000 gun related homicides annually in the U.S. The vast majority occur in the urban ghettos and are committed by blacks and hispanics against other blacks and hispanics. They use illegally acquired guns, so more gun laws will do nothing. Their lawless culture, requiring no personal responsibility by those who father children, creates the dysfunction and crime. The urban ghetto kill zones all have the same thing in common – run by liberal Democrats for decades, with poverty created by their welfare policies, dreadful public schools, and a black population who don’t work and take no personal responsibility for their lives or their children. Here are the murders by city for a sampling of these shitholes: Los Angeles – 587 Chicago – 508 NYC – 333 Detroit – 316 Phila – 248 Baltimore – 233 New Orleans – 150 Indianapolis – 129 Memphis – 124 St. Louis – 120 Newark -112 Milwaukee – 104 Washington DC – 103 There are dozens of other shitholes like Camden, Kansas City, Atlanta, Oakland, Pittsburgh, and Miami with extremely high murder rates, and in every case more than 90% are committed by non-whites. Why don’t you hear Obama giving speeches about black communities policing themselves and taking responsibility for the crime, drugs and murder in their neighborhoods? He has no problem with proclamations about white people clinging to their guns in middle America where there are virtually no murders. The entire gun narrative peddled by liberals is false. The crime rate has been falling for 25 years. There were 24,703 murders in 1991 when the population was 253 million. Murders in 2014 totaled 14,249 with a population of 317 million. The willfully ignorant American public completely buys the falsehoods presented by Obama and believes murders and crime are skyrocketing. Today, the national crime rate is about half of what it was at its height in 1991. Violent crime has fallen by 51 percent since 1991, and property crime by 43 percent. In 2013 the violent crime rate was the lowest since 1970. And this holds true for unreported crimes as well. According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, since 1993 the rate of violent crime has declined from 79.8 to 23.2 victimizations per 1,000 people. So, with homicides at a 25 year low and completely confined to the urban ghettos where young black men kill other young black men, we need new gun laws to restrict what white people can own? It makes you wonder. Why has the government militarized local police forces across the country in white communities when crime and murder is virtually non-existent in those communities? Why is Obama and his liberal nazi hordes trying to ban any gun capable of providing defense against a tyrannical government? Why has this become a war on whites when it is solely a black problem? Hi-lari-ous! Another host slams a conservative guest as lying when in reality she was repeating the talking points of FBI Director Comey's press conference about Hillary's secret-home email server, which was filled with classified information she denied was ever there. Which brings us to the king of all intolerant CNN hosts, Don Lemon, who will cut the mic on anyone who dares speak a fact about Clinton (or Obama) that he doesn't agree with. In this clip, he cuts the mic of a guest who dared bring up that Hillary was complicit in the many sexual harassment situations her husband is famous for. The final portion is host Anderson Cooper cutting off a guest who once again dared to speak facts about Hillary that were already reported on CNN and many other news outlets, but were clearly not what the host wanted to hear. Specifically, the guest was bringing up the point that Hillary, who's campaigning on being a woman who is "for women," was caught on tape bragging about how she got a child rapist off on a technicality. That definition works for economic insanity, too. Over the past seven-and-a-half years, President Barack Obama has maintained a steady course of burdensome new regulations, significant tax increases, and massive federal spending on so-called infrastructure. He has unconstitutionally ordered executive actions, favored labor over business, attacked banks, insulted successful corporate leaders, and backed federal-government mandates on business. And with all this, strong economic recovery from a deep recession — which has been an American tradition — never came to pass. A recent Wall Street Journal news headline proclaimed: “The Worst Expansion Since World War II.” The story noted that this lackluster economic expansion is actually getting weaker. Another recent Journal headline asserted: “Productivity Slump Threatens Economy’s Long-Term Growth.” The story noted that output per hour is experiencing the longest losing streak since 1979. The U-6 underemployment rate stands twice as high as the traditional unemployment (U-3) rate. Yet Obama has continued to do the same thing over and over again. And now comes Hillary Clinton’s economic plan, which will deliver more stagnant growth, falling wages, dropping productivity, and depressed investment. Her program would raise taxes on so-called rich people, corporations, capital gains, death, and stock transactions. She would spend massively on infrastructure and again mandate rules for private businesses. Remarkably, she has no corporate tax reform (even Obama had a plan) to revive corporate investment and boost productivity, wages, and living standards. Now here’s the question: By repeating Obama’s policies, how does she expect the economy to do any better than it did during Obama’s presidency? She doesn’t. Clinton’s goal is not economic growth, but reducing inequality and social injustice in the name of “fairness.” But she never tells us what “fair” means, although we know it’s code for higher taxes and larger government. Now let’s bring in Donald Trump. He wants to lower taxes across-the-board for individuals and large and small businesses, significantly reduce burdensome regulations, and unleash America’s energy resources. (Hillary would end coal and oil-and-gas fracking.) Trump’s corporate tax reform would restore America’s position as the most hospitable investment climate in the world. For a change, businesses and their cash would come back home. The contrast between the two economic-policy strategies couldn’t be clearer. Clinton has a recession strategy. Trump has a recovery strategy. Clinton derides Trump’s plan as more “trickle-down economics.” But she forgets something. Post-war economies prospered most following the JFK and Ronald Reagan tax cuts. In fact, in his second term, her husband followed the incentive-model of growth by reducing taxes and reforming welfare, with excellent economic results. So why not give tax and regulatory relief a try. It’s been missing for seven-and-a-half years. Why not try something different for a change? When you read Clinton’s Detroit economic speech you see repeated references to making sure the top 1 percent pays its fair share. Ditto for corporations. But here’s a big factual mistake. A recent CBO study shows that “the rich” don’t just pay a “fair share” of federal taxes, they pay almost everybody’s share — particularly when it comes to financing government-transfer payments. A recent Tax Foundation study, using IRS data, shows that in 2013 the top 1 percent paid an average 34 percent of federal taxes, while the middle 20 percent paid only 12.8 percent. What’s more, numerous studies show that cutting business taxes will benefit wage earners the most. That’s the middle class. Yes, shareholder stock values will go up too. But it’s not simply the rich that gain from this. Remember, all those government and private sector unions are heavily invested in stocks. They hate tax cuts. But it is precisely those tax cuts that will boost their pension and retirement-benefit totals. Ironic, isn’t it? Plainly, Trump intends to reward success, while Clinton will punish it. She wants the government to run the economy. He believes in the growth engine of free enterprise. Trump understands that you can’t have good-paying jobs unless you have strong, healthy businesses. But if investors and businesses are harassed by overregulation and uncompetitive taxes, firms will stagnate or fail and jobs and wages will shrink. Hillary never ran a business. So she doesn’t understand this model. It’s not a Republican or Democratic model. It’s a commonsense, American model of prosperity. A long time ago I watched Ronald Reagan repeat a few simple points about the benefits for everyone of lower taxes, lite regulations, and limited government. Successful policies are sold by repetition, not unrelated tangents. Trump must learn this. If he does he will win. But if he doesn’t Americans will continue to suffer.
