Definitely the beach! Every year my family spends a couple of holidays, at the beach, for a few days. Good times.

That's fun, LJ! Everyone has fun at the beach! I loved being there with my mom and girls a few weeks ago. There's something so carefree about it.
My favorite is a sightseeing vacation. I love architecture and history, so I enjoy seeing cathedrals and temples and historical places. In the US, my favorite city is Boston.

What's your favorite type of vacation?
Beach- I try to go to Jekyll Island once a year(other coast locations are good too)
Camping-used to do it a lot and still enjoy it! Don't like car camping very much though.
Sightseeing-like day-long drives to nowhere in particular? Those are a treat!
City with cultural activities-I hate Atlanta but like having it 2 hours away for shows and concerts and trying a new restaurant. LOVE New York and Paris!
Other-A 3 day cabin weekend in the mountains is great in the Fall! Sometimes a staycation isn't bad too. Those happen a few times a year when work gets slow. I catch up on sleep and reading and chores around the place.
I need them all in varying degrees according to how much time and cash is at hand. And what if feels like my spirit needs to recharge.

There is something very therapeutic and restorative about it. I think the waves are hypnotic and the sound of them almost a meditation. I hope everyone gets to take a fun vacation soon!

After awhile the beach sounds like a toilet flushing nonstop....

I heard on TV a few months back that some celeb was selling his beach house because the constant wave action reminded him of the toilet flushing nonstop...

I liked the beach back when I could swim better, and before I got a pre cancerous spot on my nose.
The sun can be brutal.

I love going to the beach, and camping there is great if it isn't too hot, but I also enjoy more deluxe beach-side accommodations that involve all inclusive amenities with room service, maybe a swim up bar and an oceanfront balcony so you can fall asleep listening to the waves...
