Are you truly striving to be your best at all times? If not ask yourself why not? For me, I like to see myself as a 1940's-1950's movie star. True stars of that era simply went outside their homes always dressing looking their very, very best at all . "Bad" photos of them looking tattered or no make-up on the women stars were never taken simply because they never appeared in public looking shabby in the first place!
I always keep that in mind. "The worst" you'll ever see me is wearing a Brooks Brothers cotton fresh polo shirt always freshly laundered and pressed or a Tommy Bahamas freshly pressed silk shirt and me clean shaven and my hair blown dry are as casual as I ever get.
So, please don't complain if you don't attract quality if you don't look your best and feel sharp.

Now my man?.......Almost always in a Harley t-shirt and jeans. I bought him a nice button at the collar shirt last week. I was surprised he wore it. Not trying to change how he dresses, that's the first time I bought him something more dressy, after 2 years. Soooo, maybe something every 2 years

I dress for the location and the occasion.
Swanky affairs- I have suits, sport coats, slacks and appropriate footwear
Rock concerts- Jeans and t shirt and sneakers
Casual date- Newer jeans or slacks and button down shirts or sweater as the weather dictates. Tweed sport coat sometimes too.
Farting around town- Jeans and whatever clean shirt is at the top of the drawer
Work- D*ckies pants and old threadbare button down shirt in the Summer and Flannel long sleeve in the Winter and whatever coat is necessary to keep the freeze off my bones. Work boots or sneaks as the job demands.
Farting around the house doing chores- Please refer to work clothes
Hunting- Assorted camo and boots
I was raised in a white collar world but gravitated to the blue collar. I'm comfortable in both milieus. I may not shave as often as I should but then I'm not dating anyone at the moment. Otherwise, I am always clean or soon will be after work and chores.

on my days off it's t shirts and blue jeans and hair in a pony tail

Heck in my business if I smelled good they'd be suspicious and pop me. Dealing with a CEO I may have to change my approach...however not with with a pipe or silk tie. This does not mean I don't shower or use cologne... I just don't dress like a f*g and I'm simply myself.

I tried dressing up and it was a disaster. Woman swarmed all over me and I didn't get rest for three days. Now I have some swamp land in Arizona if you're looking for some. Oh the palm trees at my summer home in Alaska really are nice
