If he insists upon sitting, make him sit on rusty nails slathered with fresh dog shit? And he's not allowed to stand until the anthem is over. And make Beyoncé sing the anthem. It'll last 45 seconds longer with all the ululations.

he has a choice to sit or stand yet as a qb he is the leader of the team. Idk? It could start a trend if others choose to do the same and it is an election year. Someone could take advatage of this, swinging votes their way...yep.

These athletes, movie stars and musicians end up pissing off more people than the minority of the ones they're taking a stand for, which is the biggest downfall in the end.
the "in thing" to do now is to say or do something controversial....and put that public apology in the headlines 48 hrs later.
I see a lot of angry players that will probably be knocking him on his a** when the preseason is over with.
Atleast Greenbay got first dibs.
To me,these people are just whiny, spoiled, and grossly over paid.
If he really believes in his statement,go take a march or two with these idiots that are living on a lie.
Hell, the guy probably never gives to the homeless, kids with cancer and so on...but he chose this to run on.
way to go,moron.
The 49ers said they don't really have a say on it,but then you see the NFL telling the Dallas Cowboys they cant have any support patches on the field when it comes to the police that were gunned down.
Its a screwed up world we live in

It's totally disrespectful!! I don't know what would be the best way for the owner(s)to handle it. I imagine he will be getting a lot of negative publicity from it which can't be good for his career. I'd say fire his ass, but the owner needs to think of his bottom line so depending on how good he is firing may not be an option and then there is always the fact they are bound by their contract.

(saw this on a sports commentary page)
If his football-playing and quarterbacking skills are anything like his political stances, it’s really no surprise that he hasn’t been “effective.”
Glazer predicted that Kaepernick’s cut from the team could come as early as the next two weeks, especially considering his vastly unpopular political decision.
The only thing that may save him from an immediate dismissal from the team is his contract, which guarantees him an $11.9 million salary this season.
Someone making nearly $12 million isn’t usually cut from the team this early, but then again, someone making nearly $12 million doesn’t usually gripe and moan about how his country has oppressed him.

Freedom of Expression. He may not support the country that gives him this freedom but he is exercising his right as an American.
I think that the more people talk about it, the bigger it will become. If people could just shush about it, it wouldn't hold the power in our minds it does.

There are no grounds to do anything. You bench him, you cut him from the team, you back ball his name ... all of those prove his point to an extent. You would be saying that he does not have the right to expression and it would further his agenda of "Black Oppression"
I would do nothing. If asked by new stations and what have you, I would firmly point out that while I will not personally sit out the Anthem, I do believe in his right to do so.

First I would make him shave his stupid Afro, then I would cut him.
He wants cops who shoot unarmed African Americans to be tried for murder!?!?!
Here is a punk who makes 12 million a year to play a game and because of that he thinks he can disrespect the National Anthem?

He has a right in the United States to free speech.
And so do the people who don't agree with his speech or actions.
So if you want to burn his jersey feel free , sad if you even own one .

He has the right to be a a**holeit's the privilege we have here in the great United States BUT if I owned the team I know I'd loss ticket sales What I don't understand is why does he have to be a d*ck head about it...stay in the team locker room until the national anthem has been completed... then go out and play ball... why can't he be a Gandhi and protest in silence instead of being a loud mouth a**hole... I'd respect him more than being a attention wh*re

I really don't think he gives a crap about BLM or anybody else for that matter. I think he just didn't feel like standing for the National Anthem and that was the excuse he pulled out of his ass.
I wouldn't give him one more second of attention for it.

Kaepernick has now decided to "take a knee" during the playing of the National Anthem instead of just sitting on the bench...a obvious reaction to the negativity he has received recently...
He also stated that the first $1M he makes this season he's donating to "help people and communities" ..
I guess to help blacks fight and shoot the cops better...

I think he is doing a good thing. And it would be awesome if other players in the nfl follow his example and they too donate what they can to help.

Like most people he missed the part about the 1st Amendment that says "you are free to say what you want but you are not free from the repercussions of doing so". But is it really any different that Tim Teabow praying on the field?
I support freedom of expression as long as they don't force their beliefs on others. That said, there are "rules" in the NFL that do just that. Forced Patriotism is just like a fart, if you have to force it it's probably shit.
