The phrase "have your cake and eat it too" comes to mind.
That's a clear sign that these ppl worship the Gov"t. In the sense that they ONLY respect that "piece of paper" called a marriage licence bcuz it's LEGAL!
So is rape, robbery, assault, manslaughter and murder if done correctly.
So the question you have to ask yourself is... "If this is what they're showing you NOW then what should you expect when they get your a** behind that legal gun!?"
Where everything you have is theirs also including your life. And if they didn't give a fu€k how you felt BEFORE you got married then imagine what it'll be like after.

Anyone is entitled to do what they want in a relationship-married, or not-as long as the one they are relating to chooses to take it. Of course, some won't take it. If you do wrong once too often, you may find that the one you are relating to chooses to Bobbitt you...or worse. Most of those who think they are free to do as they please outside of marriage are not really looking to ever get married. They may, however, get Bobbitted.

This is great news .. in Massachuttes ... RAPE KITS ARE DESTROYED IN 6 MONTHS !!!
The evidence of the perp is gone ... and perp is free jail bird now.
The Libtard B*tches do love their taco sauce licking nasty c*nts that is for sure.
If you fight a rapist and want them in jail for the Lara Logan assault ... sorry the f**k for you in Boston Mass huh ?
sumbuddie wear blind sea
Krista Stodden, who starred on Celebrity Mother Daughter Experience on Lifetime with her daughter Courtney Stodden joins the #solidarity4survivors and #impeachpersky movement. She states "Women deserve support for their injustices". She is also a survivor.
Some more very important news!!! In Massachusetts, rape survivors can have their rape kits destroyed only six months. This means survivors must traumatically call in every six months just to keep the forensic evidence of their rapes viable for report. Judge Persky's disturbing ruling in the Brock Turner case is an example of how our legal system fails survivors.
I have been working with the non-profit Rise to pass a bill which would protect rape kits in the state for fifteen years, discontinuing the harrowing cycle that exists today and signing into law a basic human rights. We urgently need support. If you are a resident of Massachusetts, or have family members in Massachusetts, please call the Massachusetts Senate President Stan Rosenberg and voice your support for Bill H. 4364.
Senate President Rosenberg’s office number: 617-722-1500
Sample call language: "Hello, my name is ____, I'm calling about a bill that just passed the House a few weeks ago. It's H 4364 about Sexual Assault Survivor Rights. I want to voice my support for this bill. Please ask the Senate President to bring it up for a vote."
Thank you for your support. #RiseUp for our friends in Massachusetts, and for all sexual assault survivors.
Love Always!

Women love to set double standards, when it benefits them. Men aren't much different from them, anymore.
I take it as a clear sign that you hit it and quit it, because if they view their current like that, they would do the same if it were you.

Actually, it depends on the exact context, as many such phrases do. It also depends on what the person who hears it, WANTS to think it means.
I've most commonly heard that phrase myself, spoken as a sort of slang idiom, when some self-righteous manipulator was trying to guilt-trip them in to behaving as THEY wanted the person to behave. Nothing wrong or negative about that.
And if you look at the meaning of the phrase literally, and NOT see it only negatively, it means that the person saying it DOES believe that marriage is a serious and thorough commitment, which they WILL honor.
So yeah, if you overhear someone who you thought had already committed to you say that, and they follow it up by doing something that hurts or repulses you, then it means they never respected you. But in a basic factual sense, it's not that bad.

I agree with this phrase to an extent.
When a guy starts asking for "husband" benefits but he's BARELY making payments on the "boyfriend" package, I totally understand what women mean when they say that.
But it's stupid to use that as an excuse to cheat or be a complete selfish a**hole especially when there's nothing wrong in the relationship.
It seems like people who say this have a lot of inner chaos to deal with. They have someone and yet they want to live as if they don't and don't have the emotional strength to be alone and NOT string someone along.

Well... there are no legal or moral obligations to act like someone who is married until you are in fact married.
However, I would say that if someone feels that they are entitled to do whatever they want that whatever type of relationship that you have with them... it sounds more or less like an uncommitted relationship.
They probably don't want to get married.
I think men and women relate to each other sometimes long-term in a more informal, casual manner because it is nice to have a companion without having to live the life of a married person.

Those who say that do not take their relationship seriously.
If I am with someone I am with them and not running wild.

Agree
I'm not sure, it means any one particular thing.
The way people are these days about "real" commitment.
I'd say it could very well mean, they are just to afraid to really commit to a person as in the old school way of thinking.
I can do what I want and if you don't like it....fine!!!
I was no legal ties, so I can be gone at anytime...unless everything is going fine for me(me, me, me, me), every second of the relation.
I base this on the attitudes of most women these days.
and perhaps men are starting to take a page from that mentality, and after experiencing that lame notion enough times....they are coming around to thinking...if this is the way women are going to be....then I might as well do the same thing.
This is what I'm observing these days in people

Sounds like no commitment to me but if their not living together and other factors involved I can see the reason for saying that...I'm not married to you so yes I'm going out with the boys tonightto many factors to consider before answering truthfully
