It seems mindy is back and his side-kick isn. After his last beating he took I would have thought we would not see him again. But here is he again trying to promote his "preterist" gospel of mis-interpretation and mayhem.

CLV Ro 15:8 For I am saying that Christ has become the Servant of the Circumcision, for the sake of the truth of God, to confirm the patriarchal promises.
9 Yet the nations are to glorify God for His mercy, according as it is written, "Therefore I shall be acclaiming Thee among the nations," "And to Thy name shall I be playing music."
10 And again he is saying, "Be merry, ye nations, with His people!"
11 And again he is saying, "Praise the Lord, all the nations," And "let all the peoples laud Him."

Mercy for the nations "with His people" is not in force now, for His people are not blessed. We are blessed because of their defection. In the millennial age, however, the nations will be abundantly blessed through the restored nation of Israel, with Christ on the throne.
A. E. Knoch

These verses are about the blessings of the nations. Not the fulfillment of any promises.

CLV Ro 15:12 And again Isaiah is saying, there will be "the root of Jesse, And He Who is rising to be Chief of the nations: On Him will the nations rely."

The Root of Jesse is the mention in the OT of the nations being "grafted" into Israel and God's plan.

***************************************************************************
Quote from mindy(a)... In Isa 11:11 we have the second "exodus" - out of "Egypt".
***************************************************************************
A second "exodus" out of Egypt? Not really.

I suppose he is ignoring the rest of that verse.

This second "exodus" was to recover His remnant from not just Egypt but also..

Assyria
Egypt
Babylon
Pathros
Ethiopia
Shinar
Hamath
Arabia
and from the coastlands of the sea

Quiet a list of places to ignore and feature only Egypt.

Not an accurate description of Isaiah 11:11 I'm afraid.

Speaking of Isaiah 10:20-27

The main point of this passage is the salvation of a remnant, so we would hardly expect to read of their "destruction" in verse 25 (Authorized Version). The Hebrew reads "confusion," yet the Septuagint reads "counsel." We suggest that the letter CH has fallen out between the TH and the BL. Restoring this, we have THCHBL, or strategy.

Basically he is saying that the KJV got it wrong because some of the letters from the Hebrew got lost in the manuscripts used by the King's translators.

CLV Isa 10:28 He comes over the city of Aiath! He passes in Migron! At Michmash he is checking over his gear.

Passing through Migron (perhaps a ruin now known as Makrun, between Aiath and Michmash), he pauses at Michmash, which, appropriately enough, means to "REDUCE and REMOVE," and there he "is checking over his gear," reducing it by removing all the baggage which he will not need for the assault on the holy city. This will also make his descent into the steep valley just south of town and his ascent on the other side that much swifter and easier (1 Sam.13:23).

Basically Isaiah 10:20-34 is about the battle between Israel and the Assyrian armies under Sennacherib, which will be recorded historically in Isaiah chapters 36 and 37.

The Deliverer is now introduced, first as the Twig...

CLV Isa 11:1 And a Twig shall fare forth from the set slip of Jesse, and a Scion from his roots shall be fruitful.
2 And the spirit of Yahweh shall rest on Him: A spirit of wisdom and understanding, a spirit of counsel and mastery, a spirit of knowledge and the fear of Yahweh.
3 And His scent is in the fear of Yahweh. And not by the sight of His eyes will He judge, and not by the hearing of His ears will He correct.
4 Yet He will judge with righteousness the poor, and correct with equity for the humble of the land. And He will smite the earth with the club of His mouth, and with the spirit of His lips will He put to death the wicked.
5 And it comes that righteousness is the belt of His waist, and faithfulness the band of His loins.

and then as the Root of Jesse...

CLV Isa 11:10 And there comes, in that day, the Root of Jesse, Who will stand for a Banner of the peoples; of Him will the nations inquire, and His rest will come to be glorious.

Again, this is about the Nations (Uncircumcision) and not Israel. A distinction that mindy seems to miss.

***************************************************************************
Quote from mindy(a)... Here is plain evidence of the restoration of the elect of Israel/Judah and the Gentiles being brought in in fulfillment of Isa 11:11 and Isa 27:13 in the 1st century AD.

The above falsifies any "futurist" theologies such as premillennialism, amillennialism and post millennialism.

The second exodus in Jesus was underway in the 1st century AD - Moses could be said to be a type of Christ in delivering the people:
***************************************************************************
There was no second "exodus" in the 1st century ad.

And Moses was not Christ. He was not depicted as Christ in prophecy.

The moral?

Just because SOME of the prophecy was fulfilled doesn't mean it was ALL fulfilled.

CLV Mt 24:34 "Verily, I am saying to you that by no means may this generation be passing by till all these things should be occurring.

His coming to Israel should have taken place in that generation.

CLV Mk 13:30 Verily, I am saying to you that by no means may this generation be passing by until the time when all these things may be occurring.

These things should have occurred in that generation. Yet He warns them that no one knows the time. It is a secret which God has not confided to men, nor to His heavenly messengers—not even to the Son. The reason is clear, Had the apostles known all that was to intervene they never could have carried on their Pentecostal ministry, and God could not have used Israel's defection as the basis of a much greater and grander exhibition of grace than the kingdom contemplates.

CLV Mk 13:35 Watch, then, for you are not aware when the lord of the house is coming, at evening, or midnight, or c*ckcrowing, or morning,
36 that, coming suddenly, he may not be finding you drowsing.

While the Son did not know the day or hour, we can now see that He was aware that there would be a delay. He is the light of the world. His absence is night. He might have come at evening. This probably refers to the early Pentecostal proclamation (Acts 3:20), The great crisis, or midnight, was when Israel was repudiated (Acts 28:26, 27). Perhaps the present awakening in Israel is the c*ck-crowing. The darkest hour still lies ahead. But in the morning He will surely come. When these signs begin to come to pass then it will be possible to watch events. We, however, do not watch the events which accompany the wrath of God, but wait for God's Son to rescue us from the coming indignation (1Th 1:10).

CLV Lk 21:32 Verily, I am saying to you that by no means may this generation be passing by till all should be occurring.

It is evident that all these things did not take place in that generation. Nor did the Lord say that they would. He simply said that they should. He could not at that time reveal to them the failure of the Pentecostal economy. The present grace was an absolute secret. These must be left out of this prophecy. Leaving these out, all these things would have taken place in a single generation. Peter, at Pentecost, shows that repentance of the nation alone stood between them and the day of the Lord. Had the nation received his message, the times of refreshing would have come (Acts 3:19). This passage, instead of being an insoluble difficulty, is really the key to the proper apprehension of this whole prophecy. It shows that the whole is viewed as an immediate possibility, and does not include the Pentecostal or the present economy in its scope.

Time and again Jesus refers to "this" generation as wicked and perverse. Why would He depend on these men to help bring forth His Kingdom?

CLV Lk 9:41 Now, answering, Jesus said, "O generation unbelieving and perverse! Till when shall I be with you and bear with you? Lead your son here to Me."

What a change awaits Him when He descends from the glories of the holy mountain! There He was enveloped in the majesty and dignity of His high station. There He found Moses and Elijah in fellowship with the thoughts that filled His mind. Now He veils His glory and descends to a curious throng and to unbelieving disciples, the best of whom ignored the heavy cloud which hung over His soul. The first thing which meets Him suggests the change which has come over the spirit of His ministry. His disciples have been unable to cope with the evil spirit. Undoubtedly the unseen world of wickedness was well aware of the fact that they had succeeded in turning the leaders and people against Him. Hence the spirit refuses to obey the disciples. But their time had not yet fully come, so He rebukes the unclean spirit and heals the boy. This is a sign of the future failure of the kingdom proclamation under the apostles, as detailed in the book of Acts. As their message was refused by the nation, the signs and miracles which accompanied its proclamation gradually vanished. They will not be restored until His presence in the future.

CLV Mt 12:39 Yet He, answering, said to them, "A generation, wicked and an adulteress, for a sign is seeking, and a sign will not be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.

CLV Mt 12:45 Then it is going and taking along with itself seven other spirits, more wicked than itself, and entering, it is dwelling there. And the last state of that man is becoming worse than the first. Thus will it be to this wicked generation also."

CLV Mt 16:4 "A generation, wicked and an adulteress, for a sign is seeking, and a sign will not be given to it except the sign of Jonah." And leaving them, He came away.

CLV Mt 17:17 Now then answering, Jesus said to them, "O generation unbelieving and perverse! Till when shall I be with you? Till when shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me."

CLV Mk 9:19 Now He, answering, is saying to them, "O unbelieving generation! Till when shall I be with you? Till when shall I bear with you? Bring him to Me."

CLV Lk 9:41 Now, answering, Jesus said, "O generation unbelieving and perverse! Till when shall I be with you and bear with you? Lead your son here to Me."

CLV Lk 17:25 Yet first He must be suffering many things and be rejected by this generation.
