As black people, we seem to think that we are capable of anger, but it's not the same as when white people get mad. When black people get mad, they may take a swing at you, march, sing or burn their own communities down (for some reason). When white people get mad; they'll appoint supreme court justices to screw you out of your rights for 3 generations. When white people get mad, they'll vote in politicians that promise to kick out the brown people, put more police on the streets to lock up the black people, keep the sand people out and put those yellow people in their place. When white people get mad, millions of working poor who are long over due for a raise get the middle finger. It's never been a good strategy to make white people in America angry. There's nothing Barack Obama could have done short of dying in office, that would ever have made this dynamic any different.
