Just a chat thread.

So, what kind of vehicle would Jesus drive, do you think?

I once saw this ad in Hemmings of a 60`s British Army Ambulance for sale, Just a basic , rugged ambulance. And I thought, I think that suits the Lord. He lived in a harsh time, working with his Dad, he would have spent half a day walking just to get to their job site. It would have been harsh and brutal work. I cannot picture him in a fancy machine, and with his healing work? I thought that ambulance fit.

Most people assume "WWJD" stands for "What Would Jesus Do?" But the initials really stand for "What Would Jesus DRIVE?"

carparkedOne theory is that Jesus would have tooled around in an old Plymouth because the Bible says, "God drove Adam and Eve out of the Garden of Eden in a Fury."

But in Psalm 38, the Almighty clearly owns a Pontiac and a Geo. The passage urges the Lord to "Pursue your enemies with your Tempest and glorify them with your Storm."

Perhaps God also favors Dodge pickups because Moses' followers are warned not to go up a mountain "until the Ram's horn sounds a long blast."

Some scholars insist that Jesus drove a Honda but didn't like to talk about it. They cite the following as proof, "For I did not speak of my own Accord."

Meanwhile, Moses rode an old British motorcycle because, "the roar of Moses' Triumph is heard in the hills."

But then, Joshua drove a British sports car with a hole in the muffler, "Joshua's Triumph was heard throughout the land."

And finally, following the Master's lead, the Apostles car-pooled in a Honda, "The Apostles were all in one Accord."

Oh...well...just a bit of Biblical nonsense. However, it goes to show how easy it is to misplace scripture, to misread scripture, to misinterpret scripture, to mis-apply scripture, or to twist scripture. When hearing or reading the Word of God...make sure to rightly use it and always consider it in it's context and get the big picture. HOWEVER, make sure you are a regular Bible reader!

"Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105).

And, would he have drunk tea or coffee, do you think? They had tea back then in China and India. Jerusalem was a major trading centre, so I wonder if tea was available? Coffee really was not around till the 15th century.

But I found a verse, advocating, Coffee ! Yep:

Isaiah 51:9 Young's Literal Translation
Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of Jehovah, Awake, as in days of old, generations of the ages, Art not Thou it that is hewing down Rahab, Piercing a dragon!

That has to be about coffee ! I think he would prefer Arabica beans from Africa over the Colombian ones Americans favour.

What do you think?

I never had a Plymouth, but I did a 69 Dodge Monaco convertible',and have several Pontiac models .(and my Dad even had a 62 Tempest}. The Ram, I have covered 3 times over, and my first bike was a Honda 50cc, which I traded a week later for a Honda 305.

British Bikes I have covered with Nortons. Never had a Triumph, but that could change this summer. None of the Royal Enfield dealers are stocking them. So will probably go with a Bonneville.

I had Kawasakis, Suzukis, and Yamahas. Everything was between 100 cc and 250 cc. Oh, a used Honda Trail 90 for a while too. The Kawasaki 100 seized up on me more than once. Too small of an engine for what I was asking it to do. But it had a high/low range for trail riding. Mostly I had 185cc Suzukis. The Honda 305 was a popular bike but they were history by the time I got around to noticing them. And they were heavy.

Sorry, I know it's not exactly on topic.

I think Jesus would drive a Nissan Leaf. And drink Chamomile tea.

I never gad a Kawasaki , but I did a Yamaha 185 for a bit.

No Suzuki bikes, but I had an 80 Suzuki Jeep I used to trap minnows for a business I had when I lived up north.

So, a cup of tea for you?

Not that many years ago I enjoyed breaking in a rebuilt 305 scrambler while exploring access to the Rogue river near by. I had a blast not to mention the sentimental aspect of the particular bike, a gift from my dad, but the performance of 1961 surprised me. I can see why this bike became the catalyst for Honda's export success. It was much cheaper then the comparable performance from triumph at the time. I'll have to check on it's current situation because last time I had any knowledge of it, it was being fully restored by a long time admirer of the genre.

Was your 305 a dream or scrambler Isna?

I learned, if one could say that about me, how to drive on the road in a Dodge Colt. I believe this was Jesus' preference for parading into Jerusalem.

I like to think he also would have appreciated the economic performance of a four cylinder hemi. Chuckle.

Well i sure do, I learned to drive in one. A 65 Peugeot 403, they were a 4 cyl hemi, with 4 speed on the tree. Its the same model as Columbo drove.

Hey Shy, I found the Indy in the Bible!

Job 26:10 ESV

He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.

Proverbs 8:27 ESV

When he established the heavens, I was there; when he drew a circle on the face of the deep,

I think they are bad translations though and it should have been, "oval".

And is this prophecy about my garage when I finally build my fa Car? A Caterham super seven?

Song of Solomon 2:2-12

2 A lotus blossoming in a swamp of weeds - that's my dear friend among the girls in the village.

I would love to play a bit with that Peugeot, not to mention just about any mechanical form of transportation period; because that would rightfully devalue my opinion as the revelation reveals just how much of the driver/rider/pilot slut I am.

Speaking of Iron in circles. Daniel had many interesting observations to offer regarding civilization's leveraged technical advantages.

I rather think the whole chapter 4 is in reference to the King learning the lesson regarding private property capitalism and the LORD God's will that we share a brotherhood of equally valued stewardship.

(Dan 4:15) Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

chapter 7 seems to be another reference to mankind maturing to an end of private property capitalism and the birth of LORD God's united kingdom of one. In one particular verse he kinda has the LORD God's wheels depicted as of a Pontiac. Not the GTO, although a goat certainly has appeared in scripture I think this particular model is more the firebird. BTW I did love the 69 RAM air IV that was my second car.

(Dan 7:9) I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire

I often feel this is an accurate description of the profile pic of the outlaw kart presented as me.

(Rev 1:14) His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

(Rev 1:15) And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

When twenty or so of these mostly un-muffled two stroke 500s line up for a dash in anger, it is a thunderous assault on the senses likely akin to a crashing tsunami.

Thanks, I enjoyed that. The 403 was a great Car really, Nothing fancy, but it ran so smooth. I also have had a 404, 304 and 504 Peugeot`s.

I`ve been looking for a Pick Up to restore. I really want a Mercury or a Fargo, stock with a 6. I like Mercury or Fargo as they were unique to Canada, so would be saving some "Canadian culture " before they disappear or get "customized".

It bothers me that so many think customizing a Pick Up by making it more car like, is cool. What they are doing, is taking form the inherent beauty of it, found in its simplicity and purpose. Like, buying a Norman Rockwell painting, and allowing an abstract artist to paint circles on it.

Prior to the USA and Canada Auto pact, GM/ Ford and Chrysler made models unique for our market. We had a 20% duty on cars coming across the river, and with our slightly at the time lower standard of living? They tried to produce models here that were less luxurious and more basic. The mechanic`s had to be just as rugged, due to our colder climate and more rugged geography. But they did not need to be as "gaudy" in order to sell here.

So, you could still buy what you Americans had. Such as a Dodge Pick Up. But when you went to a Plymouth dealer you would get the same Dodge, but under the Fargo name. Same with Mercury and Ford.

I often feel this is an accurate description of the profile pic of the outlaw kart presented as me.

I found it skin tingling to behold such ancient text describing his throne with wheels, flat black no less. Unpolished forged brass as we know is about the same color as black rubber tires.

I have been anxiously bursting to tell an observation that has occurred to me. I have four road vehicles currently at my immediate disposal/service. A four horse stable. Chuckle.

First the one at my service the longest is the White 66 ford supervan.

Second although the third longest in service to me is a 2008 "Inferno Red" Dodge Nitro. Although rarely for my own purposes it has been the daily driver, so to speak.

Third vehicle at my service is a Black 93 Lincoln Mark VIII. I think of it as the judge because it brings to my attention the disparity of private property capitalism. The person whom originally paid the forty something thousand for this car might very well have deserved the advantages of this technology but no more then the poorest mother or father whom anguishes over their child's starvation. It mostly collects dust in a garage, but it should be found a home more in need.

Last and least, the pale horse. A crème color 81 celica supra that was my last daily driver towards the end of my life as a dedicated capitalist. It just sits collecting dust and cobwebs awaiting some TLC and a useful home.

This is far from the story of each apocalyptic ride, of which the details a far too overwhelming for me to confidently share. Back in the early 90s, one of my favorite pastimes when I was not racing somewhere, was to promote racing via the van and parades. I have often used the van to haul a portable race event for radio control races. One of my favorite events to enter and coordinate my own race event within was the local springtime festival here in Medford including the "Pear Blossom Parade". Originally a parade for children I especially enjoyed my endeavors when they included some grin beaming juveniles walking with their models in the full glory of a crowd's appreciation.

Good and exhausting times those were.

It never occurred to me before, but I wonder if there is such a thing yet as corporate anti-product placement. Sponsored product failure exposure. Saddly, the path of least resistance insures private property capitalists will prefer this technique to achieve leveraged advantages.

Heck of a race this past weekend. I think that was about one of the best I can remember from twenty four hours at Daytona. I would like to have seen a cleaner pass for the win but I cannot imagine anyone being in that position, not reflexively taking the opening when offered.

And GTD, I am rejuvenated from winter's lull.

Been reading Issigonis on the conflict of Grace when the minimization of essential faith is put into context, against the the theory that the smallest of signs should be pulled. But as the burden of guilt, is increased? Then it should be pushed.

If the Temple can be rebuilt, again? Then how does one know it can not be torn down and rebuilt, again and again?

John Balliol claimed exactly opposite of what one finds in the modern version of the Joan Beaufort concordance. He insists her modern translation lost a lot in Translation. New age types like her, have lost the essence of the translation with the refinement of language.

If the temple can be rebuilt in clouds, then moved down here? Then perhaps it never left, was simply moved to the garden for safe keeping?

Too much like Knoch on steroids me thinks.

Then again, Klaus Schmidt found the worlds oldest temple, it was hiden all these years. You can read that here:

Gobekli Tepe: The World's First Temple? | History | Smithsonian
www.smithsonianmag.com/history/gobekli-tepe-the-worlds-first-temple-83613665/

So, why not the 2nd temple, 3rd temple, maybe in the future 4th and 5th one? No one has found the Garden, right?

Revelation 18:23

and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.

Zechariah 10:2

For the teraphim speak iniquity, And the diviners see lying visions And tell false dreams; They comfort in vain Therefore the people wander like sheep, They are afflicted, because there is no shepherd.

Those two verses prove it is possible.

Find the Garden, you find the Temple.

Hi Isna. I don't understand this post. It doesn't seem to be connected to the previous posts above it. Did you put it on the wrong thread?

Also, you said, "No one has found the Garden, right?"

That's because it's submerged under 3000 feet of water in the eastern Mediterranean, off the Syrian coast. Anyone looking for it would probably get blown out of the water by some fighting faction over there.

For what it's worth:

7. THE FATE OF EDEN

73:7.1 After the first garden was vacated by Adam, it was occupied variously by the Nodites, Cutites, and the Suntites. It later became the dwelling place of the northern Nodites who opposed co-operation with the Adamites. The peninsula had been overrun by these lower-grade Nodites for almost four thousand years after Adam left the Garden when, in connection with the violent activity of the surrounding volcanoes and the submergence of the Sicilian land bridge to Africa, the eastern floor of the Mediterranean Sea sank, carrying down beneath the waters the whole of the Edenic peninsula. Concomitant with this vast submergence the coast line of the eastern Mediterranean was greatly elevated. And this was the end of the most beautiful natural creation that Urantia has ever harbored. The sinking was not sudden, several hundred years being required completely to submerge the entire peninsula.

Are yer saying they didn't pay the electric bill so no more Edison lamps will shine?

I found it, I found it:

In a way yes. If Edison just had of agreed with Westinghouse all along about AC, think how an elephant could have been saved?

? Genesis 3:24 ?

New International Version
After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

@ISNA

Oh, I see now. My bad. I don't see Mindya's posts. He's had me blocked for years and years, almost from the get-go. So I couldn't figure out where your one post fit in. Sorry.

No problem Sir.

This thread is for fun, so no worries about being on a strict discussion topic.

Proof, one from that generation from the times of Jesus is still alive ! He works as a special "Koine " Greek translator for the Big k-noch Foundation in Berlin.
