For what good the bible has done for the Darbyites and the millennial offshoot "doctrines" they may as well be reading the book version of Star Wars...
The Darbyite "theologies" call for a literal 1000 year reign in the future with the 144,000 of the book of Revelation ruling with Christ on the late great planet earth.
They should have left dreaming up mythical tales to George Lucas - he's much more believable..
For a start these "theologies" completely mess up the identity of this 144,000.
Who are they:
(Rev 7:4 KJV) And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed
an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.
(Rev 7:14 KJV) And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
(Rev 14:4 KJV) These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth.
These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
We know that James writes to the 12 tribes scattered abroad and he claims they are firstfruits:
(James 1:18 KJV) Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth,
that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
(James 1:1 KJV) James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
We therefore have existing in the 1st century AD the firstfruits of all the 12 tribes of Israel.
We know that the firstfruits are related to harvest time in Israel:
Leviticus 23:10-14 - “Speak to the people of Israel and say to them, When you come into the land that I give you and reap its harvest, you shall bring the sheaf of the
firstfruits of your harvest to the priest
We also know that Jesus said the harvest was ready in the 1st century AD:
(John 4:35 KJV) Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest?
behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
Paul uses the same terminology:
(1 Cor 16:15 KJV) I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the
firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
(Rom 16:5 KJV) Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my well beloved Epaenetus, who is the
firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ.
(Mat 9:38 KJV) Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest,
that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
I think the above certainly refers to Paul and the 12 apostles long with others in the 1st century AD:
(Rom 16:12 KJV) Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis,
which laboured much in the Lord.
(Phil 4:3 KJV) And I entreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women
which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
There can be no doubt that the 144,000 of the book of Revelation were harvested in the 1st century AD.
