What's interesting is that I am finding a number of cases where a teacher supposedly "sexually assaulted" 16 year olds. Age 16 is the age of consent in Texas, a number of other states in America and in Canada.
Yet, these teachers are still being prosecuted. This is apparently an area of legal contention. Supposedly, it is because the 16 year olds are in "school".
Apparently, the age of consent for someone in school is 18 rather than 16, regardless of state law or national law.
