As I have told you several times in the past you are having a pipe dream if you think Coach Cal would ever even consider going back to Memphis. Elvis land was only a stepping stone for him to get to the big leagues and Coach Cal is not going anywhere until he decides to call it quits or move to another big league program.
I know he won't voluntarily quit (unless it's to go to the NBA), but their fans complain over anything other than championships, so he could get forced out if they're dumb enough.
I should have tried to find him after the game and beg him to come back, though....
Also, I know we're not anywhere near Kentucky level, but we're not just some no name, either, as we have been to three final fours, 2 title games, and consistently still get listed on the top 25 coaching jobs to have lists. Unfortunately, whoever makes our hiring decisions is crazy, as I knew right off Pastner and Tubby were bad choices.
My backup plan is move to Lexington and be a Kentucky fan.

it wasnt that long ago when memphis was dang good. was that coarch cal? it seems as tho i'm remembering another coarch too, that had memphis playing good ball. i always liked memphis. never have understood why, with their locsation, they arent better at football and bball.

doublethree, I always enjoyed Memphis as a Triple A player in the Cardinal organization but unfortunately for me the bus stopped there since I was not given a ticket to St. Louis.

doublethree, Since we have a big difference in age I'm sure that most of those good places in Memphis that McCarver sent me to during my time there are long gone by now. I can't remember the name of one of the best seafood restaurants I ever dined at right now but it was located overlooking the Mississippi River on the right just before crossing the big bridge into Arkansas. Man that was some good eating and the restaurant gave us players a big discount which was nice with our minor league paychecks.

I even thought it was going to happen when the everyday St. Louis Cardinal second baseman Julian Javier got hurt late in the season and went on the DL opening the door for me but instead the Cardinals called up a pitcher from AAA Memphis.

Anyone doing good in any contest? (this one or anywhere you filled out a bracket)
I am not doing "good", HOWEVER on one of my cbssports.com brackets I have both title game teams correct AND I am definitely in the top 10%, which is all you have to finish in to have a chance at the grand prize.
They don't give the person with the most points the prize. they take all of the top 10% of entries and draw a name. Stupid, I know. lol.
But anyway so to be guaranteed a top 10% finish I need Gonzaga to win, even though I think UNC will win.

Congratulations to all of you who bet both dogs plus the points yesterday and Tater, I hope you saved your $100 and didn't bet the Gamec*cks on the money line.

Thanks Tater but like I said I enjoy the contests win or lose. I guess it's just my competitive nature which I've always had. I'm glad you didn't drop a bill on the money line with the Gamec*cks but they sure played with heart with their best player still being hung over from the flu.
Now I can resume my sports addiction with opening day in MLB and you can resume yours with the Masters golf tournament. You're my buddy!

oh i'm not knocking it, not at all. just some regional humor. i remember my brother went and seen, i think its the predators, that play in nashville. dude was blown away. he was thoroughly impressed. of course like a whole lot of us southern boys, i only watch olympic hockey. but i do enjoy watching that.

I normally am against the historically top teams, but it would be kind of cool for UNC to win just where I would know I got to see the national champ in person for that elite eight game.
I am usually for the underdog types of schools, though. So I can't really root hard for one or the other. I guess all I will root for is a game to go into several overtimes. lol.

Thanks buddy for the heads up on what Raleigh might get hit with tonight. I've been watching the latest weather forecasts like a hawk but that's not even exact science. Atlanta got hit hard earlier today, I think Charlotte is getting hit now, and usually Raleigh is next with this kind of weather pattern. It is so calm right now outside which is not a good thing because the calm before the storm doesn't usually produce good results. I hope everyone stays safe during tornado season as well as during hurricane season which will begin soon.

Yes and the investigation is going into its 5th year. This investigation centers mainly around the Tar Heels football program and it appears that Roy Williams basketball program is clean at this time.
