wow, i actually got my west & south bracket correct, woo to the hoo. there is no need to discuss the midwest and east brackets, smh.
silly, i was thinking the whole last 5 minutes of that game, that s carolina better hit nearly every free throw. otherwise, duke would literally beat them at the line, in the end. the gamec*cks played a great game tho.
just think. arkansas wasnt that far from coming back and beating n carolina. had that happened, the mighty sec basketball would have had 25% of the sweet 16 but alas, there were only 3 sec teams left

so Tommy, any fish stories that you would like to share?
Hey Silly, The only fish stories that I have to share with you is this:
The boat that we fish on is like a mini-cruise ship with almost all the comforts of being home as long as you don't get sea sick. We have an electric fish cleaner on the boat thank goodness and six of us caught about 400 pounds of cleaned fish after three days in the ocean 24/7. We give most of our catch to those in need of food but I can assure you that my extra freezer in my garage is packed with fish. All of us former jocks make this adventure about four times a year and joining us for the first time on this adventure was one of my dear long time friends named Tim Duncan who you might have heard of. He didn't sleep too well at night however since we don't have any beds that are 10 feet long.
I agree with you, we have a good contest going on with all of us bunched together through the sweet 16.

Distances can be deceiving. For instance if you are in Lee County, Virginia you are closer to six state capitals than you are to the capital of Virginia which is Richmond. If you are in Reno, Nevada you are further west in latitude than you are if you were in Los Angeles, California.

I know that surviving teams in this tournament can look great in one game and not so great in their next game but right now Kansas appears to be the team to beat in my opinion. I'm looking forward to watching tonight's games to complete the elite eight.

lol, alright be honest gguys. who, besides me, actually thought of our beloved "babe" last night during the closing minutes of wisky/fl? i envisioned her dancing across the living room floor when dude hit the 3 pointer to tie the game. honestly, babe, i thought fl was done. it looked like they were gassed. so i was a bit shocked they pulled it out.
i was a little surprised xavier didnt give a little better showing this evening.
can kansas overcome the ducks? we shall see
tommy, theres nobody more shocked than me that 3 sec teams made the e8. the sec dont even play real basketball, do they?

@ Tater, Yep, I thought there was no way that Wisky could lose with 4 seconds left and Babe would have been one happy girl but it just wasn't meant to be. The SEC will be down to only two teams left after the Gators play the Gamec*cks in a few minutes from now but what a run the SEC made in this tournament.

Well I went to the game after all. I was rooting for Kentucky, though, but that was some nice action in the second half. The kentucky fans were more well behaved than the UNC ones, as well, although it wasn't that bad on either side.

I think I am very fair when I assess officiating and won't base it on which team I am rooting for, either. Especially in that first half.... it was quite bad. Plus 2 times I sure thought a ball went out of bounds off of UNC when they said otherwise. But I didn't notice anyone complaining, so maybe they got those right.
A couple times, though, Kentucky players were flat knocked to the ground. lol. I can't say it was the "worst" officiating I've seen, but UNC definitely got away with more than UK.
I haven't looked at stats yet, but wow it seemed like UK barely ever turned the ball over. (edit: I see they had 9. Very nice. I would have even thought maybe 6 or 7. Their great ball handling is what gave them a chance, in my opinion, plus a few timely threes).
I came out of my seat on that 3 with a few seconds left. How sucky to then have UNC ruin it so soon after. haha. But luckily Kentucky isn't my main team, so I'm cool. But would have been nicer if they won.

@ Sorp, I'm very sorry to hear about your buddy who passed away but please don't insult me by calling me a North Carolina fan since they are my biggest rival since I'm an N.C. State life long fan. Yes, I hope the Gamec*cks can pull off a miracle just like Jimmy V. did in 1983 for my Wolfpack. Oh by the way, the Tar Heels play the Ducks next so we don't even know if the two Carolinas will meet.
@ Silly, NOT SO FAST! You and I are tied in total points and if Oregon beats North Carolina next Saturday night you can still win this contest because we will go to the tie breaker on the total points scored in the national championship game on Monday night.

N.C. State, North Carolina, and Duke are located in a triangle only 20 miles from each other. Unfortunately for me in recent years N.C. State seems to suck hind tit no matter what the sport might be. As I have told you several times in the past you are having a pipe dream if you think Coach Cal would ever even consider going back to Memphis. Elvis land was only a stepping stone for him to get to the big leagues and Coach Cal is not going anywhere until he decides to call it quits or move to another big league program.
