CBS says they are making him the lead sportscaster for football. I see where he said that was what he had hoped to become: a sportscaster.
With all this stormy weather the country has really had a wrench thrown into the spokes, hasn't it?
I'm hearing air travel is being affected.
Schools dismissed early.

According to Chris Simms, the son of Phil Simms, Phil was blindsided by the hire of Tony Romo to take his job away from him on the number one team for CBS in their NFL broadcasting of Sunday games. CBS has not made an official comment yet.

tommy if this is true, its just bad business in my book. idk what kind of analyst romo may be, but not telling simms that his position is up for grabs, is just sorry.

Tater, I agree with you and I worked for CBS for over 20 years. Phil Simms has worked for CBS for over 20 years too so there must be much more to this story than what we know now because I was always treated with total respect by CBS.

I have read several articles on this Simms-Romo switch. I still don't understand it. Simms wasn't fired. And one report says there is an open door for Simms to return. Need to read even more, I suppose.

Tater, You're probably right about that! The announcing booths in all sports are full of former jocks but networks have always auditioned them to determine how they will come across over the air to the public. There is no doubt that Romo doesn't know the NFL well but when was he auditioned to find out how CBS feels that he would come across to the public over the air in real time?

Tommy, I read something about this. Romo is not the first athlete to go straight from the field of play to the broadcasters booth. There have been others but they say it will be akin to "trial by fire". It isn't going to be a picnic.
Romo will be "schooled, coached & rehearsed" indeoth before he has the camera aimed at him in real time.

HOW many superbowls ?
HE has a career winning percentage of course but that's not how you measure success in sports you have to win the big one....
LOOK at FAT ANDY REED...who I despise by the way...14 years with the eagles has a high winning percentage as a head coach but has never won the big one ....HE has a better chance of winning if he entered the nathans hot dog eating contest on coney island...

I seen the NFL Draft but we didn't select a quarter back we got a defenseman and from what i heard he's pretty good...i haven't found anything out about our quarter back situation just yet but I'm gonna look into it
