I just started working out again today and although I know what I "think" the resolution is..I'm still curious if anyone knows.
I've worked out many times before, walking and jogging, however every time I get started, meaning from not working out for a while, my ankles, feet and shins hurt.
Usually after I've working out constantly every other day for a week or two...the pain goes away.
But its always hard to push through (especially) walking so I end up jogging ( I know it sounds strange but the pain is not as bad as long as I'm jogging.
Anyone know what I should do or why this is?
Like I said, after I've been in the routine day after day for a couple weeks, I don't have a problem.

I've just started exercising again after a 3 month layoff from walking and running with a knee problem and I'm having excruciating shin pain. In my experience, this is simply due to being deconditioned, and also partly because I tend to push the pace and go as fast as possible without much of a warm up. I know the problem will improve as my fitness increases. It did last year. Sensible advice would be to build up your pace and distance gradually if you wish to avoid or minimize the pains. Walking every other day to allow your muscles to recover as you are doing is also good practice.
