1. Yes, I think she is lying. |
2. No, I don't think she is lying. |
3. I don't know. |
4. I have to watch her tell story to see if she is telling the truth |
This woman killed her father. Her excuse is that her dad was sexually abusing her. I think she is lying. She & her boyfriend are angry at her dad, so they decided to kill him. She could have just move out. That is the logical thing to do. Why didn't she just move out instead of killing him?
I think she sleeping with her boyfriend. Her dad disapproved of the guy. She told her boyfriend her dad doesn't like him. It hurts the boyfriend's feelings. So he encouraged Cheryl to kill her dad. Cheryl is not too bright so she listened to the boyfriend over her dad. And she agreed to kill her dad. She comes up with an excuse that her dad was sexually abusing her, so she can have an excuse to kill her dad. She chose the D*ck over her dad, because her dad disapproved of the d*ck she was having sex with.
Why I Had My Father Killed: Woman Breaks Silence 30 Years After Hiring Hit Man to Shoot Abusive Dad
People•April 12, 2017
It seemed no one took 16-year-old Cheryl Pierson seriously when, one morning in 1986, she mentioned a recent murder-for-hire plot during homeroom at her high school Selden, New York.
She wondered if any of her classmates would ever kill someone for money — and Sean Pica, a fellow junior, said he would do it for $1,000.
Not even three months later, as she was getting ready for school on Feb. 5, 1986, Pierson let her dog outside and saw her father lying face-down in the snow, bleeding in their driveway.
James Pierson, 42, a local electrician, had been fatally shot five times in the head and chest with a .22-caliber rifle.
“I was shocked and horrified,” Cheryl, now 47, tells PEOPLE in a interview from her home on Long Island in New York.
It didn’t take long for her — or the police — to realize what had really happened.
One week later, Pica, Cheryl and her boyfriend, Rob Cuccio, were behind bars for James’ murder.
During Cheryl’s first court hearing, her attorneys dropped another bombshell. They claimed she’d been repeatedly raped by her father and that she decided killing him was her only option when she thought he was going to start abusing her 8-year-old sister.
When Pica said he’d serve as a hit man, Cheryl confessed her secret to him and discussed the possibility of killing her dad.
Although she insists she didn’t know Pica was going to go through with it, she says she and Rob pieced together $400 for him in partial payment.
• For much more on Cheryl’s story of survival and violence, subscribe now to PEOPLE or pick up this week’s issue, on newsstands Friday.
In the end Pica, then 18, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Rob, then 20, pleaded guilty to criminal solicitation and was given probation. And Cheryl pleaded guilty to manslaughter and was sentenced to six months in jail — serving about three and a half months before she was released early for good behavior.
More than 30 years after her dad’s death, Cheryl is ready to tell the entire story of what happened and to help others who have been abused.
In a new book she wrote with Rob, now her husband — Incest, Murder and a Miracle: The True Story Behind the Cheryl Pierson Murder-for-Hire Headlines — they recount the abuse Cheryl endured and their life after the case, including raising two daughters.
• Watch the full episode of The Cheerleader and the Hitman, streaming now on People/Entertainment Weekly Network (PEN). Go to PEOPLE.com/PEN, or download the app for Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Xumo, Chromecast, Xfinity, iOS and Android devices.
“It’s not an easy life to live when you’ve endured that pain,” Cheryl, now Cheryl Pierson Cuccio, tells PEOPLE. “I just want people who have gone through [sexual abuse] to know that it doesn’t ruin your life.”
Rob calls her “a survivor.”
Cheryl says she frequently talks to abused women, giving them advice and support. But she was only able to help others once she was able to help herself.
“I still fight my demons,” she says.
“I can live with everything I’ve been through if I can just help one person.”

Poetic justice would be her 2 daughter turning against her & married men that are just like the boyfriend she killed her dad for. I hope she will get pay back. Poetic justice & pay back is a b*tch. Karma is what she deserves. Any woman who can kill her own father is a monster. Who can carry out a murder on her own family is a monster, & deserve karma & poetic justice.
I don't believe her story. It doesn't make sense. It's not logical. Why didn't she just move out? That was the right thing to do. The most logical thing to do. I smell a murder scheme with Cheryl & her boyfriend in this story.

A normal person has love for their parents Maybe the father was bad then again look at the Melendez brothers........I have seen children wish their parents dead because their parents stopped financially supporting them. OP there is no way to be sure.

If her father was really raping her, that is horrible. But, she was old enough to know she could have gone to the police. Many children are sexually and physical abused by their parents, but they don't murder them.

Cheryl was old enough to move out. Killing her dad was better than moving out? Moving out was better than killing her own father. I think the dad forbids her to see the boyfriend, this upset her & the boyfriend. So they both come up with a scheme to murder her father. She is a teenager at that time so she was at a very rebellious stage in her life. I think the story that her dad was sexually abusing her is a lie. It's a made up story to get off murder easily. I don't believe her father rape her at all. It's just a case of a rebellious teenager (daughter) turning against her father out of rage & anger because the dad forbid her to see her boyfriend. The dad probably think the boyfriend is a bad influence on her, so he didn't like the boyfriend. He forbid his daughter to see that boy, & he ended up dead, at the hands of his own daughter. Cheryl's story is baloney, a made up excuse so she can have a reason to kill her own father. I don't believe it's true. She could have move out.
Instead of killing him.
They needed an excuse to kill the dad so they come up with sexual abuse. I think they made it up, the dad didn't rape her, not at all.
Teenagers can be very rebellious. If a 16 or 17 year old girl is dating a boy, & her parents are against this boy, sometimes it pushed the daughter towards the boy even more. At that age sometimes they are hard to deal with. And if she told the boy that her parents hate him, it will hurt his feelings, it will make him feel angry. He will probably will do everything he can to turn her against her parents. He will even encourage her to be disrespectful to her parents because his feelings are hurt. Maybe even encourage her to murder her parents. Some girls are dumb enough to listen like Cheryl did. At 16 or 17 they will only see it as you being too strict & you don't want them to have any fun. Some kids feel a disconnection with their parents. The love is not there with the kids for the parents.

You're stupid, sarah. Plus, dads don't START raping their daughters at 16. They start at 7 or 8 yrs old, threaten them, intimidate them and may beat on them.

Zelda, you're stupid. The logical thing to do is not to kill her father. That was the more logical & reasonable choice. It's was a planned murder, it was a premeditated murder carried out by Cheryl & her boyfriend. Cheryl is a cold & calculating woman. She was old enough to do something about it, to move out. But Cheryl thinks like a child. She just wanted to get even with her dad. She was angry with her dad for forbidding her to see her boyfriend. So she killed him.
All scientists & engineers will think the way I do, because they will think more logically & reasonably. If you ask all scientists, engineers, & the police about this case, they will tell you the right thing to do, the most logical thing to do, was not to kill her father. They are able to think logically & reasonably, so they will think the same way that I do.
The logical choice & the most reasonable choice to do was to not to kill her dad. Cheryl & her boyfriend are cold blooded murderers. I hope Cheryl's two daughters will marry men that are just like the boy, exactly like the boy killed her dad for. That would be poetic justice.
The time era was 1987 so we were already very modern & very advanced at that time already. Society was already sensitive toward women's issues since the year 1975.
She could have talk to the police to set up a sting to catch her dad in the act, that was the appropriate thing to do. But she is a cold blooded murderer. So she figured if she killed her dad she will be able to get away with it, & she did. She only served a few months in jail for killing him.
Many cases where women whom killed their husbands because they claimed raped & physically abused were not being punished since 1975. So Cheryl saw that & she decided to kill her father. She has no love for her father because of a boy. She has chosen the boy over her dad.
Zelda, I know you don't know math & science we'll. But you don't have to know math & science well to think logically & reasonably with cases like this. Did she have to kill her father? No. She could have talk to the police. They will help her set up a sting operation to catch him in the act. Then they would have arrested him & put him in jail. The year was 1987. It was not 1950. We were already very very sensitive toward women's issues by then.
Zelda, your answers are telling me that you don't understand logic. And can't think logically.
Sting operation = to set up a situation to catch the criminal in the act of committing a crime.

She knows her dad's work schedule. She could have waited until he leaves the house for work. Gutted out the house. Take all of his clothes, soap, shampoo, razor, shaving creams, tv, lawn mowers, his handy man tools. Take it to a garbage dump & throw it all away. He would be very angry when he comes home to an empty house, & see that all his stuff was gone. That would pissed him off & made him very very angry.
She should moved out first, then do that to him, instead of killing him. The logic is, it comes down to killing him or not killing him, the right thing to do was don't kill him. The dad forbids Cheryl to see her boyfriend. She got angry at her dad & she killed him. He didn't rape her. No such thing happened. Cheryl was a rebellious teenager. She made up that excuse so she can kill her dad.
Most people would be very angry if they come hold to an empty house, no soap, no toothpaste, no toothbrush, no toilet tissues, no food, no clothes, no tv, no computer, & no electronics. They would be very pissed off & be very very angry. You gutted out the house & you take everything, & throw it out at the garbage dump. It would have been a lot better than killing him. The dad doesn't know who did it, who emptied out his house.
