A long while ago, I made a few posts regarding time travel and reconstructive teleportation.
These are the current "pipe dreams," along with faster than light travel and infinite energy, that scientists pursue.
This post is regarding reconstructive teleportation.
This invention, paired with an infinite energy source, would allow a system to be created that could eliminate waste, turn dirt into food, instantly manufacture anything and transport it directly into households... at near zero cost.
It would solve about 90% of people's problems, eliminate hunger... and completely collapse our current financial need based system.
Assume the following:
Such a system could produce 100% recycling, so no waste.
Such a system could provide food, clothing and shelter en mass at no cost.
Instant transportation anywhere in the world at no cost.
The question is this:
What kind of government and economics could exist in such a scenario?
I can think of some things that would be unaffected. Things such as government, police, science, entertainment and a few other industries would still need to exist so some laborers would be needed, but 80-90% of jobs would become obsolete. So how would people generate currency for things like entertainment? And what ways could people be driven to succeed when all of their needs can be met for free?
As for government, such a system would make true communism (a thing which no supposedly communist government has ever achieved) viable. But it would also lend itself well to democracy. Socialism wouldn't be needed, and monarchies are already outdated. So what do you guys think? If this ever came to pass, how would it look in practice do you think?

It would solve about 90% of people's problems
99% of peoples problems are in their head so not sure how Amazon teleporting you a new kettle would solve those.

Sounds great but will never be reality. God created people to work for a living. Notice how office workers end up fat with high blood pressure. Our world could be helped by people not being so wasteful.

If the problems are in their head Amazon could teleport them a new head.
We currently teleport information and can reconstruct physical objects
bases upon said information. It just isn't immediate like Star Trek stuff.
So if anyone says it is not possible, it is already happening.

See, she doesn't even realize it happens already.
Believing in superstition leads to archaic thinking.
I supposed you also believe no one will ever invent a tiny hand
held communicator because how would you ever fit all those
vacuum tubes in that small of a space.

We can construct based off data blueprints via a 3d printer, but the materials need to be on hand.
I am talking about a world wide network of replenishing material. Every time someone throws something away, it gets destroyed and circulated into the matter loop which a person 1000 miles away can then use to make something completely different.

It takes energy to move atoms around, it can't really be done for free though.
Instead of communism why not reintroduce slavery? Put the worse of our citizens
in the labor pool? The rest can live free.

First off:
I think science and research would be better served if they spent the grants based on the taxes we pay and their time, with things more current in nature.. that will effect us now or soon in a better and good way.
With overpopulation reaching the point where its like an aggressive mutual fund that hit its peak because the base capital is so high, that multiplying it by the percentage of growth, equates to every jump being almost double of what it previously was, ..and with the dwindling of the natural resources that can't be replenished with time becoming less and less as this population explosion happens and the demand for them going up and up daily, plus the water and air and nature itself always in question too...along this path of self destruction.
I seriously doubt, we will ever see humans living on Mars or anything close to that, or this Molecular scrambling/restructuring your referring to, that was derived from the movie: the Fly and the Transporter Room in the Star Trek series...or anything along that line, we will have long since disappeared from existence from our own doings, long before that could ever be close to happening, in fact we are moving slower in a sense than technology did from the mid to late 1800's thru the ww1., because we are just improving mostly on what was already there, they created totally new things.
If by chance this did happen, this idea from the movie: The Fly.....no way it will be free and without cost. So you can forget that. "They" will not produce something or see that it is produced, unless "they" can make a buck at it....and that is a fact jack.
Also...you can't make waste totally disappear into thin air either....you can hide it or disguise it.... but it will still be there somewhere.

Just for the record...perhaps this molecular scrambling/reconstructive device already exist.
and just like in the movie: The Fly.
a few of our responders got stuck in the machine, with a retard, or nutcase or a jackass, and when they re-constructed on the other side, they ended up a combination of the above...just as Dr. Andre Delambre did in the movie, when he experimented using himself and became a combination of himself and a fly.
....
