The taxes have already been spent on schools. It's written in the law. The first 40 million go towards the BEST program. Last year they went over the cap and the extra money went into running the public school systems.

I am going by our lotto here because it is the only one i see everyday. 10 years ago the lotto passed under the guise it was for the schools,,,10 years later we have the 3rd worst schools in the nation and teachers are the 2nd lowest paid in the nation. No raise since 07. the exact same place they were at when the lotto was passed

Colorado seemed to do things right with the law in regards to properly allocating funds and seeing that they actually get used for what they are intended to. It's a good thing they did because they are getting more money in pot taxes than they originally thought.

President Trump Proposes Federal Budget
Last week, President Donald Trump sent his first full budget request to Capitol Hill. Overall, I believe President Trump’s budget is a step in the right direction toward cutting wasteful spending, right-sizing the federal bureaucracy, and rolling back government overreach. I also believe that there are some proposals that Congress must closely examine.
Specifically, I am pleased to see President Trump get serious about reforming our nation’s welfare programs. Many of these programs are the true drivers of our national debt, and they must be fixed.
As we make these changes, we must also focus on skills development programs to help Americans prepare for and obtain good paying jobs. While we absolutely must encourage work, we need to do so while also expanding opportunities for low income Americans to gain the skills necessary to meet the needs of today’s workforce.
We must also remember that the President's budget is an aspirational document, and it does not have the force of law. It is ultimately up to Congress to make decisions on our nation's spending practices, and I look forward to working with my Congressional colleagues from both sides of the aisle to put forward a plan to reform our welfare programs, promote job training, and close the opportunity gap.

Really? Well, let’s take “free” public education for example. You pay for that in property taxes the rest of your life long after you get out of public school (if you are unfortunate enough to have to have attended public school) whether you have any kids in school or not. And you have to pay for it whether you use it or not. “Free” Public school education is the most expensive education on Earth, and today is the worst possible education you can get. Today, it is being used by the State to form a young generation suitable for their planned New Godless World Order. Reading, writing, and arithmetic is not the primary goal of public education anymore. And God has been replaced with Allah and the Masonic religion of Atheism and Humanism and Situational Ethics or whatever.
Public education is NOT FREE. Nothing provided by the Socialist State is free. You pay for it the rest of your life.

And that welfare is a tiny percentage compared to what corporations get. If we didn't bail any of those companies out and instead just gave the money to every citizen in the U.S., it would have been a much better use.

My view is the day the businesses failed to the point it needs a bailout, no previous contracts should be valid. If the government let them fail, they wouldn't have gotten bonuses, so no f**king bonus for you ads clown. But of course that's not the way it works for the CEO's of large corporations. Fail and get a taxpayer funded bonus. That's the American way.

The bail outs are forgotten every time people start complaining about people mooching off the government. They want to assume that all people on welfare are either lazy, or taking advantage of the system, while forgetting that the amount we spend on people who might actually need help is a vastly smaller amount than we spend bailing out failing companies.
