Can't blame GE though. They have to do what is best for them to save money. If we want to keep big companies here, we have to figure out a way to keep them here. Entice big companies to stay here in the U.S. GE is trying to save themselves money, can't blame them.

$10.00 dollars in canada = is only $4.00 dollars in the USA.

Apple products & iPhone are American products, but mass produced in china.

Ivanka trump's products & clothing line are mass produced in china. The president of the USA has his own American products mass produced in china. He doesn't even keep products to be made in the USA. He doesn't try to keep all the jobs in the USA. He is guilty of not keeping the jobs here in the USA. He has this kind of mindset before he became president. So it showed you where his mind was, & is, when it comes to keeping jobs in America for the American people. What does that say to the world? Your own president doesn't even keep his own personal products to be made here in America. He doesn't even try to keep the jobs here in America for Americans. He only cares about his own pockets too. He doesn't care about other Americans to keep the jobs here for other americans.

American companies paid Chinese workers $200.00 per month, no health insurance, no vacation days, no sick days, no days off for holidays.

If they keep the jobs in America they have to pay American workers $800.00 per week, net pay, health insurance, 2 weeks paid vacation per year, etc.... Keeping jobs in America for American workers is very expensive for big companies, & for trump private clothing company & products. That's why they moved their companies to china & to other countries.

My dishwasher, dryer, washing machines, microwave oven are GE products. They are extremely quiet & long lasting. Doesn't break down. Fairly prices for the average to own these products. GE products are good quality products & well made.

My car is honda civic.
My phone & laptop are apple iphone.
My tv is Sony.

I buy what I think are the best products on the market & don't care where they are made. The problem with American products are that they are very expensive, not well made, don't last long, break down very easily. You feel like you're not getting your money worth.

Paul Ryan's budget bill, did away with the Bill that supported the loan program that 1000's of companies were using to keep factories open. He said the bill was nothing more that "Corporate Welfare" even though the money is all paid back to the government.

The bill to support the loans was re-instated of course as a last minute effort by the Democrats and other non-partisan senators on the Republican side in Congress, but not before GE had already committed to moving the plant to Canada, and laid off it's workers.

My question, why are companies the size of GE needing government loans?

Why are companies like GE supporting Republicans like Paul Ryan with huge donations?

Why do GE lobbyists own the Republicans?

And why did most of the employees at the GE plant in question vote for Donald Trump?

I watched a news reel today and the laid off workers were asked these same questions.

The ones they interviewed said they regretted their votes, and were crying that they could not accept other jobs that were being offered in the area for $17 an hour because they said....

And I quote, "We can't support our families on "Non-Union jobs that pay less than $25 an hour!

It seems so Ironic that people voting Republican would suggest that!

You just can't fix stupid!

Anecdotally i've heard that some of the GE workers at the former Waukesha Engine facility have since found new jobs. In addition, i've also heard GE has a good program for helping re-train laid-off workers, but as of yet, i'm not sure if those jobs are relative to G.E., or even actually exist.

That's only because Connecticut state legislators threatened to raise corporate taxes. In no way is that saving any jobs.

fishnthec, here in Canada, Export Development Canada, Canada's export credit agency hasn't been labelled as corporate welfare, and this quasi-government agency has been well funded/supported by both liberals and conservatives.

Hey, your Governor is one of the Good Republicans.

Personally, I think he is lax on Gun laws but he is Fiscally Conservative and he is attracting Business in the way Texas has been doing by getting out there and making an effort to attract potential business! Make them a tax deal they can't resist! It is good for jobs.

But, if you do Commerce a favor and cut their taxes, they have no excuse to not pay decent wages.

So, companies that do a good job and paying good wages should be the ones that are getting the Tax deals at the Fed, state, and local level.

Companies like GE that do pay good wages should get local and state tax cuts.

When President Trump went running to the aid of Carrier to save a portion of their jobs, it was a great photo op for him, and I was one of the ones that said, "Hey, keep up the good work"!

So, where was he during this situation in Wisconsin- that so blindly and faithfully put him into office?

was a missed opportunity for the president who could use a little good press- right now!

There it is;

The Canadian Press
Published Monday, September 28, 2015

FAIRFIELD, Conn. -- General Electric is closing an engine manufacturing plant an Wisconsin and says it will invest US$265 million to build a new one in Canada in a move to take advantage of Canadian export credit financing.

The company announced Monday that work on the new plant, which will initially provide 350 jobs, is expected to be completed in 20 months.

The planned location of the new plant was not disclosed.

GE currently employs 350 at its manufacturing facility in Waukesha, Wis., building gas engines for compression, mechanical drive and power generation applications.

The company said the new state-of-the-art plant in Canada and will be a flexible facility that can expand over time and also support manufacturing requirements for other GE businesses.

When you stop and think what happened to America in the last election, we ended up getting what we deserve- Donald Trump!

Yes, the Republicans lost with Donald Trump- even though they won the election- they lost even more in the way of public opinion.

And the Democrats lost to Donald Trump and blew their chances, because they just had to have a shit-sling contest with themselves.

Can't blame that on Russia!

And still you're against corporate tax reform, deregulation, and tarriffs.

You are huffing and puffing that the jobs left but when the Trump proposes ways to keep them here you throw a temper tantrum.

Until you can support a feasible solution to this problem you can't possibly be taken seriously.
