Went to MGM for the woman's birthday last week... Was not very impressed with the quality of the food at MGM! Made a reservation online for 10pm and felt like I was rushed... Not only that they had run out of the good steak, and their filet mignon tasted like someone deep fried it! They brought my girls salmon out nearly raw, as it was like pudding in the middle!
The only thing they got right was the wine, as it was a 2006 and pretty much had the wife so wasted she thought she had a good time! LOL
So all is well that ends well, but for the record, the food at Wolfgang Puck leave a whole lot to be desired.
As far as MGM goes, well they still have what appears to be mold growing on the ceiling vents after almost 7 years now. Sometimes I wonder if I am the only person that looks up! Otherwise we ate, the woman was drunk to the point of barely walking and I was actually glad to get out of there without having to spend another dime.
For me, Greektown and Fishbones is the way to go! Very clean and good food!... Can't stand when a place charges a premium and fails to deliver on the quality, that is how I felt when I left MGM the past two times I went (both birthdays).
Very glad to hear you won $2500 though! VERY NICE! I'm not really into the gambling more than the food and atmosphere. I'd be really going all out if I spent more than $100 gambling, as most times $40 is about my max on the roulette table.

Happy birthday Stellar, may you have many more. Yep, we are all getting old. I have heard it said: “Life is dangerous, nobody ever gets out of it alive”. That’s a humorous way of putting it, but it’s true. We mortals all die. But life is not about this world. Those who think it is about this world can’t see the forest for the trees. To get a world view, one has to get far enough up above the forest to see the forest.
Very briefly, this is what it’s all about: During the Angelic Revolt, Lucifer, who was second only to God in the chain of command of the Government of God in Heaven, revolted against God, and one third of the angels followed him in revolt, and there followed a fierce war in the heavens in which Lucifer and his angels were killed and cast down into Hell (a spiritual world located at the center of the Earth), thereby losing their place in Heaven. Then the angels who lived upon the Earth (this Earth was their home, they built the great earthworks and megaliths such as the Great Pyramids found around the world today) were ordered to leave the Earth and man was created upon the Earth in his stead, and the trial of man upon the Earth began.
The Earth today is a garden of sorts in which the souls of men are being created, tested, and divided into two groups: the reprobate who will ultimately belong to Satan, the fallen Lucifer, the King of Hell, in the next world, and the elect who will ultimately belong to God in the next world. It is revealed that when the number of the elect equal the number of the fallen angels, then the time for the trial of man upon the Earth will end. Then the reprobate of men and angels will be called forth, publicly tried, and then cast into the Lake of Fire (not to be confused with Hell), in which they will suffer the Second Death, the death of the spirit or soul (eternal life is a reward for the Just it is not promised to the reprobate, fear not man who can kill the body, but God who can kill both body and soul). Then the elect of men will leave the Earth and go to live in Heaven, which is the place where God the Father has this throne set up, and in which he has prepared a place for them. And the elect of angels who lived here on Earth once will return to live here again, for this is their home. Men are but wayfarers upon the Earth, they were meant to be citizens of Heaven. And that’s what it’s all about.
It is often asked why God allows evil on Earth. Well, there are various reasons, but the primary reason is that men on Earth must be tested, and in order to be tested, they must be allowed to do evil, within limits. When they do, the good often suffer. But God will make up for that. What is suffered on Earth will enjoy an eternal recompense in Heaven. It is revealed that your suffering on Earth will be your glory in heaven. We were not promised happiness in this world. Our sights are set upon the next world. In Heaven men are immortal, there, there is no aging or dying of old age. Now you see the forest without the trees blocking your view.
Incidentally, Stellar, we are now coming to understand what causes aging. And there are now ways to roll back the biological clock. And the best time to start that treatment is at your age, about forty. But I won’t get into that here.

Years ago fishbones was my favorite place, but it's not near as good as it used to be, bout 25 years ago. You're kinda young to remember when it was the best place in town. Use to love their alligator voodoo.
Only place i liked more was the kapok tree in clearwater.
Yeah......pucks went down hill a few years back.

Thanks again everyone! Just getting back to my desk after an action packed day/night.
Cleaned up that fuel filter and took the boat out for awhile, got it over 50 MPH which isn't bad. Apparently there is something wrong with my hosting companies API as it appears the photo is not uploading but trust me when I say the filter was pretty much packed full of something, what I have no idea.
Then I capped the birthday off downtown Detroit at Fishbones. The people from MGM called me up while I was putting the boat in the water and offered me free dinner for my birthday because the food was so bad but I couldn't accept because you know how restaurants spit on your food when you complain, especially if it's comped for that reason! LOL
All things said, except for getting a year older it was a great day! Just so happens today is also my 16 year anniversary. With three birthdays and an anniversary always at the last week of July you could say it's pretty non-stop this time of year. I'll be glad when things start to get back to normal on Monday I've been partying so d@mn much!
