I have not decided where I will be, but it will be in the Hampton Roads area.They are predicting it to start here 1:21 pm, high point at 2:47pm, and ending 4:07pm, with a 88% coverage of teh sun in our area.
We have been remembering the total eclipse that happened March 29, 2017 and one in 1977. I don't remember anything from the 70s about an eclipse. I do remember the box viewers we worked on for the total eclipse in 1987. It was focused over South Amrica

its not "total darkness" outside at all and it won't be "total darkness" in any "zone"... its called solar totality-which is different...

Franklin KY experienced 2:27 of total eclipse of the sun by the moon & I watched in awe @ the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The pearls of light from the corona of the sun that streamed into aurora borealla effects were breath taking! I saw Jupiter, Venus & Sirius in the sky as if it were midnight (& yes it was dark). The total eclipse zone was amazing both because of Mother Nature & the uniting of people in a happy fun event full of love
