The fact we have the missile technology to shoot them down..and no doubt even more effective technology (lasers) to shoot it down too that is not public knowledge. For a nuclear strike to hit the US he'd have to fire multiple ones at the same time..more than the defense systems could handle..and that's not going to happen from NK when they only have like 3.

If NK fires at Guam then we hit with overwhelming force. If we don't blink and just do it and if we've told China and Russia that when NK fires on any of our people that we will devastate Nk, then they MAY sit there like a couple of lapdogs. South Korea and Seoul will be hit with overwhelming rocket/arty fire that will decimate Seoul. As far as rocket defense, well there's just so much of that installed in SK. Let's say rocket defense is 75% accurate Seoul still gets flattened. Concerning a strike on the U.S., we will send up enough defense to take care of that. Reagan's Star Wars should have been funded and it would be in place and technology would have evolved. We would be invincible because our furthest target would be like 300 miles. For laser shots that's about a millisecond.

They allow US troops and military equipment to be “forward deployed,” which means they are already in the region and wouldn’t need to be sent from someplace else in case of conflict. "Also, the island is equipped with a THAAD missile defense system that is intended to stop a North Korean weapon before it reaches US territory. The system has successfully worked 15 out of 15 times in tests, but it has yet to be used in an actual war. So the bases are clearly important to the US. They may be even more so down the line."

I know if I had barely a handful of nukes I wouldn't waste one on Guam knowing it would be shot down...I'd use it on SK...that could be fired quick enough to possibly avoid it being shot down. All conjecture though...the point of idiots making terror threats is hoping the other idiots believe them...
