Somebody had to get the process of creation going.

I think womankind would have destroyed the earth a long time ago without divine intervention.

Absolutely and someday you'll have to give an accounting of yourself so prepare while you can or spend eternity with my mother.

My mother was not religious, never attended Mass. My father went to Mass and still. I always went to Mass and still do. I know where I'm going afterwards.

Too many are close minded but I had a supernatural experience in my home years ago {previous home} that I had to get my house blessed because of the things that were transpiring..when I experienced that entity in my home I knew the devil or Satan was real

I've always known God was real in my heart

I gotta tell that story In the random thread one day it's pretty damn Intense

I rarely go to Church The Bible says the body is the temple of God so I'm in church now

Yes

I've had experiences where God has came through for me instantly. No Joke
James 5:16 says:
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

I was raised in church. No I don't go as often now but I still pray and believe in God.

After much thought, I have concluded that it's not necessary for me to decide about this.

After all, if god exists and is as all knowing and all seeing as claimed, then he/she/it will know that you're faking things, if you go t church "just in case," and he/she/it will know you are a "good person" even if you don't.

If I decide that god exists and I spend any time at all trying to work out what it's all about, I'm far more likely to go off in the wrong direction, than to get every detail right.

So I might as well ignore the whole issue altogether, and just live according to what I believe is right. Because if god does exist, that's what I'll be judged by anyway.

Well, there is definitely a creative force in this world. Intelligent design patterns exist. I don't think anyone can deny that or not feel that there is something greater out there.

I don't see any evidence of a God existing. A lot of the things that people attributed to a super natural force in the past can be explained . Basically , it is the God of the gaps. How did life begin? I don't know the answer, it must be " God" did it. Or more accurately, my " God". A lot of people rely on faith to justify their beliefs. You can literally justify any religion by faith. Faith is really pretending to know something you don't know and want to believe, so you glom on to the belief by " faith" It is lazy logic basically.

If an omnipresent , omniscient, omnibenevolent God exists, I find it curious a person would have to pray ( which really is begging) to him for him to be moved to help. What would any reasonable person think of a parent that waited for their child to ask him to help when they saw that child in peril.Any reasonable person would be outraged if it were made known that a parent didn't help until the child begged. Yet this begging is encouraged in Christianity.I find this disturbing quite frankly.

I'm glad my parents never introduced me to the gospel. Judging from the experiences of believers, I'm sure it would have f**ked my life up. I'd likely would have ended up rejecting it, or have gotten so deeply involved I'd have joined ISIS or some cult!

I have noticed over the years those who claim they are deeply religious seem very dogmatic in their views. They also seem to have a violent nature to the point they'd like to kill anyone who disagreed with them. I also notice that they expect the apocalypse at any minute, but they themselves will be saved due to their saintly behavior.

So God = Bullshit!

yes yes yes (except I havent gone to church much)

A ton of things have happened in ways that just couldn't be coincidences and also the way various things work/fit together in the world can't happen due to "evolution" alone. Even Darwin said his theory would have to be considered invalid if anything were to be discovered which would have taken longer than the age of the universe to have formed randomly, which DNA indeed fits.

Trust me. Your life is not under your control. I just had a 2½-hour phone conversation with a woman, I have never met.

She lives in southern Ohio, and friended me on FB.

Within that 2½-hour conversation, I discovered that a chain reaction of events were set in motion with Tyler's suicide back in 2013.

None of what happened to me, in my current state, was ever actually in my control. I had a choice in my reactions to it, but the end result was still the same. Where I am currently at, is where I am meant to be. My current job was offered to me two times, before I took it. However, I would have never taken this job, had I not been demoted by my position being eliminated at my last job.(a factor that was out of my control).

Meaning, God had intended me to be in the job I am currently in. He just had to find a way to get me there, because I wasn't listening to Him.

Trust me, on this one. You can fight God's will all you want. In the end, you die or you submit and follow what He wants you to do.

Yeah sometimes I just think I want to start over but then I realized while I do have issues and other stuff like my location and other aspects of my life are rather priveliged.

What did she say to you?

Hmmm I don't really believe in God so I can't really think how God could play a part in my life. Also does that mean that God WANTED your friend to die young?

As crazy as this sounds, God may have disguised a blessing in Tyler's death. I wouldn't have met "HER"(you know who, but leave her name out of it). I wouldn't have fell in love with her, and my heart wouldn't have softened, had Tyler not done something that basically forced me to become that person.

And yes, God CAN use non-believers to carry out His will. Remember, in the Bible, non-believers still go to Hell which is still in God's Will.

I'm not really religious, but I believe that God exists because everything in the universe duplicates its larger fabric - down to the smaller components... of everything in it. There are trillions of living organisms (cells / energy) living in our body - as if we were their world, just as we are living organisms (forms of energy) on this planet, and these planets, matter / light / energy, etc... can live in the vast universal "body" that can be called 'God' capable of self aware consciousness (just on a much broader level) since He / It is not human.
Taking God out of the equation would render us as mechanical beings with no true essence of free will or duality.
Example: Say, I wanted to commit a selfless act. Without God's existence added to the equation, it would be impossible to commit a selfless act without self gratification. Meaning: "I did this selfless act not for any God, but because it makes me feel good. Charitable, etc.." So, it is not truly a selfless act in it's core sense. So, there would be no true duality to it - only an imbalance act of self gratification. Hence, no true FREE WILL.
However, if you add God to that same example, then it can be a truly selfless act because you are NOT doing it for self gratification - you are doing it FOR an entity that you cannot directly benefit from (meaning you can't see / talk / do things with God, or receive anything, etc..) and since you gave God the credit (instead of yourself), there would be no benefit of taking the credit for yourself (no self gratification). Unless you ARE religious - then you would commit a selfless act for the self gratification of being "insured" to go to Heaven someday when you "die." But then again, this is why I am NOT religious - but more universalist / spiritualist. Death also doesn't truly exist, by the way...
So, with God's existence added to the equation, there is a duality that is possible - which is one of the first laws of physics: "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." Meaning the duality of what it is (I am = alive - physical form) and what is opposed (I am not = death / no longer physical). is what gives the Universe its vast flexibility to render all things both capable and incapable (if that makes any sense to you at all) that's how it maintains both its neutrality and BALANCE: Light / dark, good / evil, matter / anti-matter - even to the dual possibilities of our dogmas, intellect, emotions, choices, etc...
So, God is the central form of pure, balanced energy in the universe... but that part is just my opinion. Hope this helps.

Appearing as some type of "lucid" / observing spectator of this forum debate does not make you appear any more "sane" than those debating... The REALITY is that the OP asked us if we personally believe whether or not God actually exists... and here you are ascribing non-contributing personality labels to offend those at random (with no correlation to what was originally asked) - most would call that a "break from reality" (aka insane) LoL
Also, are you a masochist? You seem to enjoy visiting thread topics that you obviously deem a "pain in YOUR ass" lol.
It's okay to hide your butt-hurt - I can wait lol.

It would be highly illogical to think you are valid in mocking a believer in God, while using the term "destiny", instead of "future".

And considering you have admitted your own religious affiliation, on these forums, we both know you believe in God. You couldn't belong to your religion, if it were otherwise.

UGH! Why does every friend that I have keep telling me I "need to lay off the computer games and books to get laid?" Seriously? I don't mind being alone - I like myself. Some people spend their entire lives avoiding being alone by themselves - they'll even party, get drunk (or high) and recycle exes they know they never loved just to avoid a single moment of being alone. I love being alone. When others are alone, they go "stir crazy" and scramble just to find any piece of distraction willing to give them the time of day. When I'm alone, I go from feeling stressed to peace. That's why I have always been a loner - I enjoy people, just in small doses lol.
As a matter of fact, I have been happy, bubbly and at peace with myself since my last ex went out of my life... because if there was ever a time when I wanted the distraction of "getting laid" it was because I wound up not liking to be alone with myself while I was with him. Because during those times, my self esteem plummeted... and I relied too heavily on him to make things "right," even though some of it wasn't all entirely his fault... because I'm still battling my cancer issue... which is another reason why I hesitate to approach this man. I used to be relatively decent looking until my condition flared up again...
Yes, I would always prefer being able to share a happy life with someone else - but that is not a need for me at this point (as much as it is a want). I just heard great things about this man at work, and just wanted to find an honest approach (that isn't contrived) to learn more about him... So, no - I will not pretend to want to hang out with others to be near him, nor will I wear a Star Wars shirt to coax a response out of him, lol.

I view God more or less this way as well.

All of the writings about God, including the bible, are written by inspired human beings trying to understand and connect with God.

The writings are possibly more theoretical, but not necessarily incorrect.

Our understanding of things outside of our day to day existence are limited.

Perhaps one day we will know more about God with more accuracy.

If not God... then maybe space aliens.

I'm certain of it. It has been shown to me. It is my proof that exists for me only. Your proof may be yet to come. No one else's testimony will be able to convince you of it. Do not give up hope.

Does Sienna exist? Or she is merely a cartoon character?
