The banana peals will fertilized and keep ground bugs away and the marigolds or lavender will keep away flying insects. Diatomaceous earth- It's a ground up rock composed of sea creatures(diatoms and radiolarians) that make their skeletons from silicon. They are essentially made of glass. I dont know what kind of bugs you have, but maybe it will help. A touch of dish soap and water in a spray bottle. Its clean, and you dont have to keep doing it. My roses were free of bugs after that. Best of luck! Let me know how it goes. I wouldnt want powder or BEER or anything that leaves a residue on my flowers. Do you?
