I am trying a couple different tomatoes. Aunt Ruby's German Green & and Nyagous which is a dark brown color.

I also started some Ecinacea White Swan. I have always liked the purple ones and I think the white will look great too.

Both tomatoes are going to be different for me this year. I cannot find any Roma's or Beef steak that I used to plant up in Iowa. I am now in tx and even though I have heard you can grow both of them hear I could not find any. I planted an Abby early and a celebrity today. I am also trying a new (for me) green pepper called a mexicali, it is supposed to have some heat to it. My flowers are all different down here, it is just going to be an adjustment for me. The thing I am excited to get is an avocado tree.

I found some heirloom tomatoes that I am trying this year, plus more herbs than usual. And some spaghetti squash! Which I love but have never tried to grow! Looking for "miniature" plants - especially fruit trees - that grow faster than the taller ones, and bear fruit earlier.

Good luck to all!!

I bought 10 blueberry plants from Indiana Berry I was really happy with them.
I was looking at them last week sometime during the winter the deer loved them too.

I thought about some strawberries but then I woke up.....thinking about weeding them.

I am going to start a grape arbor, tame blackberries, and will begin a strawberry bed. You can mulch your strawberries and not have to weed them.

We always plant tomatoes and zucchini. This year, we made a salsa garden, with cilantro, jalapenos and tried a few herbs and greens we haven't before. Arugula and peas, to name a few. It has been very mild here, even chilly so far, so I hope the tomatoes get enough heat.

I put in Amish Heirloom tomatoes, 3 kinds: Brandywine [slicing], cherry, and a low acid one [red not yellow] called Mr. Spiky...I want to save seeds. Also different varieties of Amish heirloom peppers. Put swiss chard in, braising veggies, butternut squash, Roma and Blue tendergreen beans, bush zucchini, spinach is done and now romaine and read leaf lettuce, trying potatoes this year. And I remembered always having rhubarb as a kid so I put one in; I can't harvest until next year. Eggplant and broccoli too and 3 kinds of onions.

Always many herbs/spices. Put tarragon in last year and it came up nicely and more abundantly this year. Always mixing perennials in everywhere! The raspberries are getting berries for the first time and strawberries are just about ripe...they're easy to grow. Second year of fruit for apple, cherry and pear minis I put in a few years ago.

I digg gardening!

Brandywine tomatoes are the very best out there in my opinion. Kinda ugly but excellent flavor. I hope mine do well this year.

Ginger. I have a shady spot that stays moist. I hear ginger likes shady moist places so I went to the store an picked some nice shiny fresh roots with eyes, to plant. That was about 7days ago and no shoots yet.
