What is your favorite reading format? I.e. audio books, hard copy paper/hard back, electronic, ect...
And, What is your least favorite format for reading?
Myself, My fav format is audio book. I especially love when the audio producers include music and different voices for each character.
My least favorite format is hard copy printed material. First of all, I'm not a tree hugger, but printed books waste a lot of paper and are expensive and time consuming to make. Second, printed books are very limiting in audience, interactive content, and length.
I will always be a strong supporter of listening to audio books, instead of reading them phonetically.

I enjoy many formats, but am collecting ebooks on my Kindle 3G at present....868 ebooks so far. It takes up less space than do DTB versions. Also, the DTB versions often cost $26.00, or more, while the same ebooks go for $0.99, or $2.99, or such.

I really like old school paperback, but I read online a lot too. I haven't spend 200 bucks on a reader so I can pay for books to use with it.

I do have quite a collection of "real" books, but am thinking of going Kindle..gosh, I would never come up for air! Is it true y'all can d/l ANY book on a Kindle? And which one (if, as I assume, there are more than one version)is the best? I know the price is way low this year..

Hard cover books are my first choice. (..and I *am* a treehugger!) I look for old library books for sale online or at my local library. I do not like to read e-books. Reading for me is a sensual thing - the smell, the feel of the pages, the kind of binding - all contribute to the experience for me.

I have a Kindle from Amazon. While not all books are available, I have plenty of books to read. I like the ability to carry books easily out to the pool, beach, airplane, or to bed with out the bulk of paper books.
There is still a place for paper books, like picture books, crosswords, etc.

I'm definitely an old fashion paperback girl. There are advantages to the electronic formats but there's nothing like the feel of a good book while strolling. Hardbacks and electronic gadgets are a little too heavy for that.

I dislike reading online and have always been a fan of a real book in my hand; however, Barnes & Noble have managed to convert me with their Nook reader. It is now on my wish list, nevertheless, I will always have shelves dedicated to books with paper pages.

I, too, prefer book in hand. Gives more time for reflection, you can reread and take your time

I love my Kindle 3G. The protective cover with the pull-out light that they have for it is worth every penny.

I used to be a proponent of good old fashioned tree-killing paperback, but I now absolutely love the Kindle app on my Droid. I just downloaded my second book for it yesterday, and I intend to have all of Spider Robinson's Callahan series on it by year's end

I like the good, solid paperbacks/hardcovers. I have listed to audio books on CD, but not too often.

I own a 3 bdrm house and have run out of room for my hard cover and paper back books. Ever room has at least one book shelf and I still have books in boxes stuck in closets.
So I have resorted to a Kindle DX which has a 9.7" screen and downloads my books thru the 3G network. It works world wide and the 3G is free. But, unfortunately, I still have to pay for the books. At least they cost roughly 50-60% of a new hard cover copy.
So, Aside from not adding to the pile of books in my home, I am also saving money.
Also, as an Over-The-Road truck driver, I am a very big fan of audio books.

I enjoy my paper backs and still by certain authors only in print. However the best gift I ever got was my Kindle 3g It works out great for preview new and upcoming authors for free or a great low price its easy and convient to take to the park or a long trip or where i will have a long wait. I also love the fact that i can read the books on my cell phone when I'm somewhere I didnt plan on having a long wait the grocie store salon......... not to mention where ever you leave the book it synchs up with your other devices.

I most definitely most enjoy reading large hardcovers... preferably first or rare editions. And I admittedly have quite the large collection of graphic novels, and good old fashioned comic books.

I really prefer dead-tree editions, either hardback or trade paperback. Mass-market paperbacks come next. I haven't tried an e-book reader/tablet yet, but look forward to it; I have tried reading e-books on the computer, but like to be able to keep reading wherever I go. (Ever try to read on a laptop in the bathroom?)
