Down here, the shit just falls off one day, or so I'm told. First autumn in this area; already miss the smell of fireplace and wood-burning stove.

no turning leaves quite yet, although the birch treese in my area have had a disease on them and them have dropping earlier than normal. Other than that, the leaves are getting ready, but it's still a lil early. I love Fall, I hate winter......

Yes they are. They've been changing for several weeks. Fall came early this year.

Leaves are finally changing, the weather has been really strange though. I'm a gardener, there is something really wrong, when it's 80 degrees out and i'm planting mums, kale and doing fall theme gardenes. lol

Cacti? j/k
Everything's still green here, but at least it was low 60's/high50's this morning. Eighty degrees doesn't feel natural. I want out.

Hmm, can't say that I've been to Florida....sounds like a cool place. I'm on northern Arizona myself at an elevation of 8000+ ~ so we get our share of winter storms here ~ believe it or not. I guess one of the advantages of living here is when the winter snow falls I can escape the cold and head down to Phoenix for the winter. I guess that would make me a "Snow Bird" like all the retirees that head there for the winter (lol).....

It's not that I dislike Florida; It's just not "home". Doesn't feel natural.

Northern Arizona actually reminds me of Maine. I've been there quite a few times. Almost moved to Flagstaff until I realized that, weather-wise, it's basically the same as New England. F**k that.

Gets that cold there? I'm guessing it's high elevation?

Oh, yeah, for sure. Super high elavation. Arizona's a super awesome state because, really, it's like two different places in one. Southern Arizona's a hot desert but nothern Arizona's cooler and has actual trees. All it takes is a three hour drive and it's like you're in a totally different world.

Still green; I guess I should resign myself to the fact that the season I hate never goes away down here.

Mid- to upper 40's last couple of nights. Stuff starting to look brown-ish. Just a tease. Won't last.
